Out of any category of video I've seen on the internet, this is hands down the most inspiring for me. I sing, I play the saxophone. I'm always looking for a new challenge. I made a deal with my friend that if a cover of Frame of Mind hasn't been done before, I would learn piano just to play it. In all honesty, I was a little bummed when I found that you did it just because I was so excited. After listening, I've never wanted to try and accomplish something so badly. Great video man, and just know that not only are you talented, but on some level or another, you're truly inspiring.

People like you are amazing. Sure there is piano covers for all the mainstream radio music, but you still go for the lesser known music like Tristam. You do what you want, not what gets you views. Also, you are very talented and this is very polished and I can tell you put a lot of work into this. Can't wait to see what else you can do! Also, do you play this by ear?

GI Joe PSA actually he does play by ear like 2/3 of the time... He gets the lessons from some guys making samples on FLStudio and then posting them on youtube.... Take "the girl" as a sample... He plays the song as it was on FLStudio and at the end he reforms it into something better hearing.
Pavel Sabolic I've asked, he does play completely by ear.
GI Joe PSA is correct, Pavel Sabolic is not. I play and make these arrangements 100% by ear. I don't get lessons or sessions from guys making samples. Also, I use Ableton Live -- not FLstudio. I simply listen to the final song (a bunch of times) and then make my own arrangement on piano.

For some reason I broke down crying when it came to the middle of the song. It reminded so much of my friend who betrayed me and it's just ludicrous.. I bet you think I'm a madcap person but it just resembled our broken friendship when it's on piano and instrumental.
I played this side by side with the original. The synchronization was perfect. How you did it? Only you know. Wow.

I'm 13 years old, grade 2. I saw this video, and instantly wanted to learn. And because of the sheer incredible beauty of this song, I kept using all I could find to learn it, but it took me weeks. But I never stopped trying, and now I have finally learnt to play it. I know some of the grade 8/7 people here might not consider this a big deal, but I am so happy that I can now play the most beautiful piano piece of all time ( In my opinion, please don't kill me if you think otherwise xD). These are honestly perfect. They all really show how much theory and just actual musical genius these songs have, you kinda lose that when you transition to using synths because it all sort of masks each other.

I think there are Synthesia videos that you can look at that will give you the exact notes to play. I don't know how similar to his they are but they'll definitely lead you in the right direction. c:

Owlette Studying the song pattern as he plays it with the synthesia video it seems his isn't far off if not off at all from being exact. But I didn't examine the whole thing, only the ending and the part that has the fast up and down rhythm
