    Purdy has put himself in a different class than Lamar when it comes to the playoffs (when it really matters). That dude has more poise in his second year than the MVP favorite veteran. Dude can straight ball and feels zero pressure. Lamar folds in the biggest moments.

  • @bigs2469
    @bigs2469 Год назад +8

    I actually agree with SA a little here. Lamar has all the talent, but he needs to be more poised in the playoffs. He looked nervous from the opening snap and looked nothing like what I watched all regular season. His issues are purely mental and I think he will figure it out with more experience.
    I don't think being "locked in" is the right mindset for Lamar. Just creates unnecessary stress when things start going wrong in the playoffs. He needs to just be himself.

  • @codyb.3015
    @codyb.3015 Год назад +4

    Peyton Manning had the same issue. His first AFCC, he threw 23/47, 1TD 4INTs
    Lamar can still end up with a ring or 2 and multiple SBs even being nervous in the playoffs.
    He's just going to have to go to the playoffs consistently and have a long career.
    Shannon's right that Peyton "got it", but he didn't win an AFC championship until his 8th year.

  • @atraina6921
    @atraina6921 Год назад +40

    I agree with Saturday. Lamar played bad, but we can also give deeper analysis instead of such a broad statement like that. The Ravens are a rush offense not a passing offense which they tried to become in this game, and the coaches never made any adjustments to that throughout the entire game. Say whatever you will about Dan Campbell but at least he stuck to the coaching decisions that got the Lions there. The Ravens did not.

      Lamar and the coaches have all said Lamar has the authority to change the plays at the line. Also all week we heard about the leadership skills that Lamar displayed in the Houston game about talking to the OC and changing the gameplan at halftime. Why did none of that take place in this game? All year long we have been told they changed their identity which is why they got a new OC, picked up OBJ, drafted their 3rd first round WR in 5 yrs. Lamar was talking about 6k yards passing but nothing has really changed and Lamar has really not improved even though the media wants to try and force the false narrative that he was so much better a of passer this year, but the numbers don't really bare that out. Truth is that he is an average QB with great running abilities, he is inconsistent but has a big arm and can make some nice throws once in a while. If he ran like Brady or Manning then he would never have sniffed the NFL unless he bought tickets and when his running abilities start to diminish in the next 3-5 years, he will be a back up or out of the league.

      He will win the MVP award, but he was not the MVP. Lamar Jackson is a system quarterback who doesn't have the requisite leadership qualities or passing ability to win a championship. The Ravens will never win anything with him. In football, there are winning quarterbacks like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, J.J. Shannon keeps saying “for 2 weeks”. Purdy is 21-4 (not counting him getting knocked out of the championship game). Other than that he is 4-0 in the playoffs to Lamar’s 2-4. So how do you define GREAT? If everyone has called Lamar great and completely on another level than Purdy, yet Purdy has already accomplished more than Lamar, what’s the standard? Critics are now asking Purdy to do more than Lamar, Josh Allen, Herbert, Lawrence, Dak have actually done. Lamar has been average since his MVP year, yet everyone wants to call him Great and HOFamer even tho he doesn’t elevate his team in the playoffs. Lamar only threw 1 pass this season when trailing by 8 or more points. So when everyone is asking Purdy to come back from double digits, Lamar never did it this year. That high standard was only for Purdy. Lamar was average all year and had the Best Defense, best rushing attack, top 5 O-line but nobody held that against him the way they held Purdys team against him. Lamar never had to play through adversity this year because his Defense was so good. That’s why he went into that Niner Raven game with 22 Total TDs and 13 turnovers. That’s through 14 games! Purdy had 31 TDs and 6 turnovers going into that game. That’s why the Purdy haters had to put the MVP winner based on that one game because based on the season going into that game, it wasn’t even close.

He made the same stupid decisions late in his career as he did when he was a rookie, only he didn't have the elite athleticism to cover it up. The exact same reason many people (myself included) are fairly sure Lamar is going to wash out of the league in a few years. Just like Cam, Lamar doesn't really deserve his MVPs, it just fits the social narrative of the times we live.

    It's crazy how the sports media is such a big Lamar Jackson apologist. Compare the raking over the coals that Josh Allen got last week after his loss.

    Purdy is a good qb but he is surrounded by multiple playmakers and it's okay to give those playmakers some credit. They make a qb's life easier.

    Auntie Shannon needs to worry about his lil gossip show and purses, leave the sports talk to someone who doesn’t let his hatred show through so much.

    The Brock Purdy slander is getting out of hand. Now he has to beat the future GOAT to silence people? Insanity.

    The critics just talk to talk, everybody was saying mahomes was one and done in the playoffs. They just do it for the views, give Purdy his respect.

      Purdy gotta take it like Mahomes did! That's the problem, y'all giving him his flowers after 1 full season and it don't work that way in the NFL The SB is a great game to start taking but that GOAT on the other side, is a major problem. He got a whole flower garden in 6 years lol! Should be a great game.

    KC had 6 DBs but they were blitzing almost half the time. They crowded the line almost every play even when they dropped back in coverage.

    Give me the "game manager" that wins in big moments...over the regular season MVP that does not perform on the big stage...EVERY TIME!

      @Maurilucco In case you don't know sh*t about football...it's harder to get to the Super Bowl by winning multiple pressure games...than to win the Super Bowl (1game anything can happen). Facts.
