      When Beverly Hills Infiniti dealership closes the brand is in serious trouble. They are pulling out if Europe and will probably get folded into Nissan. This is too little too late - thanks to CEO Goshen for destroying a great company in 15 years. I love my 2005 G35 coupe 6mt. I would not touch a Nissan until they fix their cars and start making money, they are bleeding cash and are still going in the wrong direction coming out with a low selling 400Z sports car in a dying market when they should be making 6 different SUVs - hi-bred and all electric like Hyundai. The new Tucson looks way better than this and is cheeper at mid 30s for a fully loaded one. I'm waiting for more HP or the hi-bred RAV 4. Both are more sporty and cheeper with more features and performance.

    Reviewer nees to be more objective compared to the competition. That power train is pure garbage. CVTs do not belong in Luxury vehicles. Especially a Jatco CVT. The variable compression engine is neither fast, efficient, or quiet. Then its fwd based too which only Lexus can get away with as a luxury brand in this segment.

    • @Lucky8s
      @Lucky8s 3 года назад +14

      I agree that CVTs don't have a place in luxury vehicles but FWD based vehicles are widely accepted in the luxury segment. Examples include Acura (ILX, TLX, RLX, RDX, MDX), Lexus as mentioned, Audi (A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q3, Q5, Q7), BMW (1 series, X1, 2 series, X2), Mercedes (A class, CLA, GLA), and more. I'm sorry to see everyone pressuring Nissan/Infiniti to dump the CVT but it's really a lot more reliable than a regular transmission as long as you take it to a mechanic that knows enough to add the special fluid that is required. It will tow more, get better gas mileage and last way longer. I wouldn't know what to even do with the regular 8 speed transmission these reviewers keep harping about on brands like BMW. Nissan has way better integrity than the other brands. I started having issues with my Honda pilot at 115,000 miles. Haven't had even a check engine light in the past 180,000 miles on my Nissan Pathfinder. But the biggest reason I'm sold is because the drive is far More natural than any others I've driven. I test drove the Nissan Xterra back in the day and the drive was superior to the Jeep Grand Cherokee we ended up buying. The QX55 is down right gorgeous and it will sell great regardless of what these people say.

    Jeez, that infotainment system would look great on a 2014 car, but for 2020 that’s inexcusable, especially when there are similarly priced cars with far better interiors

    Beautiful design elements but the CVT transmission and dual infotainment screens are a big no for me.

    I own an FX and when I heard they are going to make a "new" FX I thought they were going to put the same drive train from the Q60/Q50 but nope they gotta slap in the same economic transmission and some turbo 4 cylinder. I don't think INFINITI is going to last any longer. Most of their cars are ending up as rentals anyways.

    Few years ago Infiniti charged $60k for super car with 5l V8 - FX50S. And now $60k for this.

    I can't (or maybe don't want to) picture the person who spends somewhere in the $50k (or more) range for a 4 cylinder with a CVT. The safety tech should be standard for the range.

    It is not all new especially inside. It’s an aging interior and infotainment center that’s in need of a major refresh. The backup camera resolution is horrible. Don’t know why Infiniti didn’t upgrade it when they made the QX50 into a coupe.
    The VC-T engine (for Variable Compression, Turbocharged) is so loud and they installed the problematic Jatco CVT transmission instead of the 9 speed automatic transmission. It’s no wonder sales are dropping year and year. For the same amount of money I’d rather purchase a Genesis GV70.

    Wow the price is high after her telling us twice that the price was much less than the competitors. I suppose this QX55 is less but damn $57k for a for cylinder!!

    Nissan really drove Infiniti to its grave. They let go of the luxury aspect and gave their brand more features that not even Infiniti offers. The fact that we’re seeing the same design set-up on the interior since the early 2010’s is atrocious. Not to mention the lack of tech- no display tach, no one-screen set-up, no innovation. Infiniti was once the luxury sports car and now it became the garden variety vehicle. After three Infinitis, I’m moving on from the brand- as everyone else (looking at their sales). Lastly, it sucks that there’s no real differentiation between the QX50 and the QX55. Same motors, similar styling and same letdowns. Such a shame- huge miss for Infiniti.
