If that's truely Simon Belmont, then OoS must be set on timeline where Simon failed to defeat Medusa during Haunted Castle, making Desmond his possible brother, nephew, cousin or little cousin.
I remeber when they had interviews about this game on ign, they couldnt stop saying how much of a challenge it was to code for phones back then. Of course, how much power did the 128x128 phones had back then? Fortunately the aria and dawn of sorrow ports were better (240x320 phones), and none of these ports are better than Montano's games. Yeah, as a Metroidvania, because the classic Vania in this is non existent, there's also no shop or money in the game, and maybe I'll make sure that Desmond Belmont gets some love, as maybe the mechanic is that there's two weapon slots, but one of them is for the Vampire Killer tips & the other one is the subweapons except for the Cross charm, which will be a consumable item that will be in the shop for the same price as the soul eater ring from aria of sorrow. Also there would be a rival who's basically a alien.
A lot if people seem to not like this. But it looks pretty decent for the mobile market back then. Too bad you had to have specific phone models to play this at the time.
Thanks. I know of two PC emulators, KEmulator and SjBoy. In general KEmulator is better, as it has more features and stuff and you can change your control mappings. I was using SjBoy when I recorded this though, because unlike KEmulator you can change the dimensions of the screen. All in all, though, I'd recommend KEmulator.
SjBoy. KEmulator Lite tends to work better, especially since you can remap keys, but I can't figure out how to change the dimensions of the window. That's the one advantage SjBoy has over it.

It is normal, actually. The problem as I understand it is that cellphone games like this can't really play any sound but MIDI, and it can't play 2 MIDIs at once. Almost none of these games have sound effects, but I've heard that there are some versions of OoS that have sound effects (using weird-sounding midi-notes) if you turn the music off, but I can't find one like that.

mobile games were primitive at this point... you are failing to consider what they had to work with, this is actually pretty good from what I was expecting from a 2000's game for phones
This has got to be one of the worst castlevania games out of the entire series franchise. Simon's quest was also another one had hard to beat without save states.

PerfectChaosGX No, you're right. The character originally wore white and had red hair, but I recolored him. It was a Chinese series of cellphone games, of which this character (Montano Cyprus) was in the 3rd and 4th. The game has gone by several different names, originally 斩妖伏魔录. The fourth game was released in English (although horribly translated) on Android under two different names, Castle of Shadows and Avenger. I'm actually a huge fan of those games, and if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Not sure if this would interest you, but I am a contributor for a fanmade Castlevania fighting game (located at serio.piiym.net/cvbla/), and I ripped all of Montano's sprites from his original games and persuaded the devs to put him in the game as a playable character. I highly recommend the game, it's one of the best CV fan games I've ever played.

Desmond must have to sit in the back during Belmont family reunions.
I think not because this games was non canon
A remake of this game has potential
Out of all the reused sprites, I was not expecting to see Simon Belmont from Haunted Castle as a statue during the medusa fight.
Viper Snake Yeah, that was great.
Nice avatar BTW.

In Gamerthumb's Perfect Castlevania Timeline, Order of Shadows works as a prequel to Castlevania Chronicles, and Desmond is father of Simon.
