Just something ive noticed with these ramp videos im looking to buy one but nobody is using the slope of their driveway to decrease the angle of the ramp. just a thought.
Jeff Andrejas: Good point... I got my first ramp and yet to try loading a Dyna into a van .. I may try that.. it's a very slight incline down off my driveway but may work out.
Always use the ditch that runs trough on the side of the yard. With tailgate down it makes a natural ramp. If it's raining it's 3 feet of fast moving water.
Good idea there for sure.because there's a few feet where this guy's feet are to far off the ramp for control.as of yet thos has been the best one as of yet though
In the panhead days, before ramps, we would take a oak door to a service station.Put the door on the lift.Roll the Panhead on the door.Lift the bike up and roll it into the back of a truck. One great thing about the old Harleys. You never got stranded.Points from a 6 cylinder chevy motor would work. You can get them at any auto parts store.
I always loaded my bike with a 2x6 or 2x8 ramp and I backed up into a sloped driveway with the rear tires in the gutter at the lowest point to decrease the steep angle. Never had a problem.
It looks like you have one on those Lock_N_Load front wheel chocks or one similar. Those are really cool, lets you get off after loading without putting the kickstand down. I have one in my motorcycle trailer. Nice job loading.
No these are the original cables. I was also concerned about the weight on tailgate, but most of the weight is not put on the tailgate, it is transferred to the ground and not that much put on the tailgate at one time. Has been working great for me for the last year.
I honestly thought if you pull the front break too much u risk stopping the front end and taking that torque to the back tire and spinning the lift out from under you if its not secured. Not sure if this comment is good or not.
It is a WHOLE LOT CHEAPER to buy a 6x10 enclosed trailer that is about a foot off the ground, compared to dumping your bike off that ramp going up or down, maybe squashing you. You can also haul all kinds of other stuff in it, weather protected. No one can see your bike or will know what is in it unless you are dumb enough to advertise all over it with stickers. They are also more weather tight than any tent for camping.
Exactly. Even an open utility trailer. My atv, lawn mower, and bike will never go in the bed of my truck. They will make that 8 inch climb, right onto the $400 5x7 utility trailer that I bought. Forget about these dumb ramps
The easiest way to do it is simply buy Trailer. If you can afford a Road King, you can afford a Trailer. Or here's a thought, ride the Bike, it's a ROAD KING.
OK I was going to call you an idiot when you first went up that ramp. Then I was going to call you an idiot when you tried backing down. So I feel a little robbed. You owned it and now I'm the idiot. Nice work!
I did give that some thought, but then I would have to store the trailer when not in use. This way I can stack the ramp in the corner of my shed and it only takes up about a 2 foot square. I only use the ramps 3 or 4 times a year.
Hi Charles, thanks for sharing your video. Can you share additional information for viewers who love the ramp and want to buy it right away.., I'm in Southwest Florida. Couple of questions: Did you buy the ramp locally or Online? (website please) What's the exact model of the ramp you show loading the Road King? Thank you
nice ramp indeed Love iT >.... but Ive loaded many bikes on trucks trailers & if one can find an slop to lessen the angle of attack makes loading much safer & easier
I'd be concerned about the trailgate cables breaking. did you replace them with steel straps or get heavier cables? Maybe they use better cables on the newer trucks than the ones that broke on my 2004 company truck. Awesome loading and unloading by the way. Kudos!
What do big dogs and Harleys have in common? They both like to ride in the back of pickup trucks! I ride my goldwing where I'm going, that's what I bought it for. I must say you did a good job getting it in there.
Since I don’t have a P/U, my trailer works well and the low deck height makes it so that I can load the bike without the engine if I have a slight down hill run. And it fits two big bikes. But this ramp looks much better than most.
Success loading & unloading into pickup truck this time. Congrats! But why? To each their own, a lot of folks like loading into a truck, makes me nervous watching, can see the trepidation in numerous hesitations. A motorcycle trailer couldn’t be easier, less stressful & a whole lot safer. 1 little slip is all it takes.
Parking back wheels of truck in low spot or pulling front wheels of truck up on cribbing blocks makes ramp angle way less. 6"block makes big difference ;-)
This one is better yet.but there's still just a few feet that your feet are to far off the ramp for control.as of yet this has been the best one as of yet though
@mfeoph2. I have a RoadKing Also. I am contemplating Purchasing a 1988-1993 Chevy Stepside (With 6Ft Bed) a Few Questions: 1) Whats the Cost of your setup? (ramp and the stop up front) (Brand names too) 2) Whats the Wood for? 3) Does the Ramp Fit on the Truck once the bike is loaded?
I have a 2019 F150 and load my 2014 Triumph Thunderbird Commander with my 10’ X 48” ramps, they are Blackwidow brand and it works great. I load my bike in the right side of my bed and my ramps easily fit on the left side.
Not as easy as it looks.. bike could of easily grounded out with the pipes catching the road or panic sets in and it topples over are two examples of it going bad... I got my first loading ramp a while ago.. half that width.. can now load my Dyna into the van and ratchet it down if required. I just got to go for it and duck head at top.. Accelerate moderately and let the incline do most of the braking..
SEI MUITO BEM COMO É COMPLICADO SUBIR E DESCER MOTO PESADA DE PICK-UPs DE CAÇAMBAS ALTAS, ASSIM COMO BAIXAS! SUBIR REQUER ALGUNS PROCEDIMENTOS E DESCER, OUTRO TIPO DE CUIDADOS! JAMAIS BREQUE OU DEIXE O TRIÂNGULO VAZIO ENTRE VOCÊ E O PISO DA VIA! ALI, NUNCA PARE! MELHOR COM MOTOR LIGADO!
Charles Riser Thank you sir and enjoy your time at sea. I also have a Road King and a King Quad ATV so this ramp seems like my best option for both but I don't want to go too short and risk bottoming out the Harley.
I have novel idea ride the bike, why you trucking or trailering them? Ridden for decades only trailer or trucked dirtbikes to ridingbarea or track. Street bikes wete ridden never hauled. 😅
what does people have against trailers? skip the truck, buy a descent car and a trailer and whiips! now your car can become a pickuptruck whenever. they aren't that expensive either. and its more fun to drive with a trailer
That would make too much sense
Always use the ditch that runs trough on the side of the yard. With tailgate down it makes a natural ramp. If it's raining it's 3 feet of fast moving water.
Good idea there for sure.because there's a few feet where this guy's feet are to far off the ramp for control.as of yet thos has been the best one as of yet though
Yes,Yes,Yes,YES,
You Took The Word's Right Out My Mouth.

What if you didn't have a gutter ,,haha,,,,we used a 2x also but never for a Volkswagen
Did you do this with a 900lb bike?
Pretty impressive because he drank eight beers 🍻 before they made this video😮
When you back out keep it in gear. you can use the clutch like a rear brake by letting it out a little if needed
Some engines don't like to be rotated backwards.
It can upset the cam chain tensioner etc
I would start the bike and have it running when I back out in case bike gets off center and half to realign to center
The white over the ankle socks with the black shoes had me thinking this wasn't going to end well.
Chick: you got it,you got it!
Dude: no shit I got it , I’m in the truck bed aren’t I !”
It's a long way down, especially backing up. Out of necessity, I loaded a GL1800 onto a Tacoma once - bought a trailer right after!
The last guy handled it superbly, going up and down!
I was praying that beautiful bike wasn't gonna end up getting trashed. Good job!
I have a ramp , used it once and never again. Bought a trailer instead.
Not a biker but that is how I would go. This guy did well though.🦇
It looks like you have one on those Lock_N_Load front wheel chocks or one similar. Those are really cool, lets you get off after loading without putting the kickstand down. I have one in my motorcycle trailer. Nice job loading.
Sure beats the heck out of the motorcycle load fails I was just watching. I think these ramps might be worth the price.
No these are the original cables. I was also concerned about the weight on tailgate, but most of the weight is not put on the tailgate, it is transferred to the ground and not that much put on the tailgate at one time. Has been working great for me for the last year.
When she said " you got 2 or 3 inches, it ain't hitting yet " was she talking about the bike or.....?
This was the first time I loaded the bike, and I heard that you could possibly drag the end of the pipes and I wanted to make sure that didn't happen.
+Kooter G makes it even funnier. lol
lol
blipco5. I frequent the same gutter. My thoughts exactly.
These days I made a loading ramp w dirt. Just back the truck up to the mound and load whatever into the back of the truck. Easy peasy.
He is obviously fluent in riding, The run ups were to see if the Exhaust would hit not to see if he could do it or not.
front break is your best friend. great job.
I honestly thought if you pull the front break too much u risk stopping the front end and taking that torque to the back tire and spinning the lift out from under you if its not secured. Not sure if this comment is good or not.
@@thebluntandonly just don't use the front break in the rain. Other than that, it is 3/4 of your stopping is the front brake.
It is a WHOLE LOT CHEAPER to buy a 6x10 enclosed trailer that is about a foot off the ground, compared to dumping your bike off that ramp going up or down, maybe squashing you. Good job. I store mine in the house every winter. Hate going up the ramp.
The easiest way to do it is simply buy Trailer. If you can afford a Road King, you can afford a Trailer. Or here's a thought, ride the Bike, it's a ROAD KING.
Nicely done. That's not an easy task.
Great ramp good job brother
Came4a operator yelling you got it teally helped here
OK I was going to call you an idiot when you first went up that ramp. Then I was going to call you an idiot when you tried backing down. So I feel a little robbed. You owned it and now I'm the idiot. Nice work!
Now thats how its done!!👍👍👍

Rule #1 dont be scared. He who hesitates is doomed.
You put a lot of faith into those cheesy crimped end tailgate cables...
The screaming eagle in background helped you sir
nice ramp indeed Love iT >.... but Ive loaded many bikes on trucks trailers & if one can find an slop to lessen the angle of attack makes loading much safer & easier

It doesnt help when the bike weighs more then 2 bikes
I thought about everyway something could go wrong and never thought about tail gate cables
That truck better be a 3/4 ton! 🤣
Maybe I'm wrong, but I always remove the tailgate first. Has always worked for me.
What do big dogs and Harleys have in common? They both like to ride in the back of pickup trucks! I ride my goldwing where I'm going, that's what I bought it for. I must say you did a good job getting it in there.
Because your SPECIAL 🙄
Nice work!

Cant beat the ramp's! Better than having a trailer or riding in rain all the time.
They make rainsuits for riding in the rain😂
Ahh, sarcasm. Insert Sheldon laugh here.
Very good job
Well done!

I'm impressed.
The Load King.
You made it👍
Good job! Usually this task ends up ugly!!
also, sometimes for dirt bike's I put the rear truck tire in my driveway gutter to lower the rear, but then you are loading uphill.
well done
Taking it to the dealership for an oil leak. Zuke Nation !
Good job
that is the best ramp I have seen.
Dangerous!
Respect
good job!!
Parking back wheels of truck in low spot or pulling front wheels of truck up on cribbing blocks makes ramp angle way less. 6"block makes big difference ;-)
Just get 4 buddies to help walk it up .Thats what we did.
I made extra width runners alongside my ramp to duck walk it up.But then my trailer is just 13 inches high.
Hey man your one bad dude
If the bike runs why does it ride in the back of a truck?
maybe it's not registered or have plates, doesn't have inspection, or have other mechanical issues.
Thats a pretty stupid question, TJ has a brain good job.
Going up the ramp forward is easy. It’s the unloading backwards part that is tough.
I have the 12ft ramps like that and I don't care what anyone's says, it's spooky.
Coming out is no problem but going up is nerve racking.
As long as you're feet touch the Ramp all's good, when you use a narrow ramp it's usually Crash time 😅😎
$20,000 Harley, $20,000 truck and a $2500 ramp. I have a $10,000 Harley and $32,500 left for gas, tires and oil. Just thinking out loud.
Not a problem to an old timer
This one is better yet.but there's still just a few feet that your feet are to far off the ramp for control.as of yet this has been the best one as of yet though
It's much more challenging when you set the bike on fire.
NICE SOCKS!!!
Good job...:)..
Loved it. How did you tie it down etc. Make a video of that.
Sounds like the 1st time ! Jaja
Oh my god I heard this before “it’s not hittin yet you got about 3” in it “ then you got it you got it I’m not talking about motorcycle either
Charles, what size bed was your truck? I have the 2014 Silverado 5'8" bed....
Hi Anthony, this is a 2009 Silverado Ext. cab with a 6ft 6inch bed.
Has anyone loaded a 2001'ish Road King into a 5'8" bed???
A friend of mine dropped a Gold Wing on himself using one of those, trailer is the only way to go.
How long is your ramp? 10 or 12'?
What is holding up the middle of the ramp?
Why would not just walk along side the bike? Thats how I load and unload mine both into a truck and onto my trailer.
So did it spill at 1:52?
As I always say if you can afford a motorcycle you can afford a trailer
@mfeoph2. I have a RoadKing Also. I am contemplating Purchasing a 1988-1993 Chevy Stepside (With 6Ft Bed) a Few Questions:

I'm sure the truck was jacked up, didn't see any bounce.
Nice...
You always have to remove bike in reverse.a trailer will always be the best choice
Congratulatíons per maneuvers, but need 4 persons in lateral sides for safety.
Not as easy as it looks.. bike could of easily grounded out with the pipes catching the road or panic sets in and it topples over are two examples of it going bad... Its easier just to ride it
I'd make sure that wood is secure in the truck bed. wouldn't want the front brake to pull the board out when unloading. that would suck.
You shut up, comb your hair and wipe that stupid grin off your face young man!
Buy a trailer ??
Get a trailer or eventualy you'll be going for a trip to the hospital.
Is this the 96" length ramps?
I believe are 120 inch ramps. Out at sea right now, will check next week when back home and let you know. I think it is a 10ft ramp.
Charles Riser Thank you sir and enjoy your time at sea. I also have a Road King and a King Quad ATV so this ramp seems like my best option for both but I don't want to go too short and risk bottoming out the Harley.
Did he change his diaper after he was done.
I have novel idea ride the bike, why you trucking or trailering them? Ridden for decades only trailer or trucked dirtbikes to ridingbarea or track. Street bikes wete ridden never hauled. 😅
Another guy that has to haul his bike to the rally
😊
Just power walk it up, you take the risk out of it.
LOL, I just RIDE my bike to where I need to go
ok and what did the uploader want us to do with this *?
what does people have against trailers? skip the truck, buy a descent car and a trailer and whiips! now your car can become a pickuptruck whenever. they aren't that expensive either. and its more fun to drive with a trailer
mr Cow
Bikers ride their bikes....
Pussys haul their bikes..
Well at least you didn't fuck up.
An I just wonder , how does she know what two or three inches looks like
