The big house shown at 10:53 in the video is my cousin's house. This video is very nostalgic for me. I also had two boys, one and two years old, in 1987, and we walked next to the South Island Mansion every day. I still live in Okinawa. I think your parents are a little older than me. It brings back so many memories. I guess you all left Okinawa and are living somewhere in the US. I wish you and your families all the best. Thank you.
Thanks for the fun video. How many years did you live there? How was life in Okinawa? Your room must have been small. Did you have to take off your shoes? The computer in the video is a Machintosh IIC. We rarely saw such computers in Japan. I think it was a problem for foreigners in Japan because everything was so small and written in Japanese....😁
Thank you for watching and for your comments! We lived there for three years (1986-1989). I was actually born in Yokosuka, Japan about 15 years before this video was taken. As you might have known, my father was in the Marines. We moved back to the United States in the time in between. My room was small, but at the time, I didn't think so. We were very lucky to each have our own rooms. As a family rule, we didn't have to take off our shoes but I know we did especially if it had been raining! Thanks again!
Thank you for watching, please check out my other videos on Okinawa: ruclips.net/p/PLjuOkrLSpSXH9kuR_cHp4vrM5P2w2yyqU

Yes, my parents were born in 1945 and we all live in Florida now. We left in 1989. I would love to go back to visit someday! Thanks for watching!
