When you're a patreon and you hear caleb say you can watch the new video right now on patreon, and you get all excited, and then remember you're watching this video early. Nonetheless, great video, glad I get to support such great builds.
The rally Miata build has been very fun and interesting. I loved it. It will be fun to see this car off-road. Video idea: Drag race rally Miata vs molly/turbo miata
well done Caleb, im amazed at how far you have come. these recent videos have been amazing to watch and its been so enjoyable to see you work with other people too.
I gotta say, it’s amazing to see how far this channel has gone. I started watching back when Gingium sticker bombed the dash of Fred the ford and stopped watching about 3 years ago. Got bored of RUclips in general and coming back to this channel is surprising to see how much it’s grown and how great molly looks
Watching you progress with every video in all the aspects from Your building process to how you’re recording and editing your videos is like watching a family member succeed! Keep up all the good work man, 👌🏻
I painted my Chaser with a 40l 150lpm compressor and a HPLV gun. You just need to take your time and be patient. Much easier than messing around with paint tins.
Dude I uses the same primer yesterday and your experience sounds exactly the same as mine. That stuff is either desert or runs and indeed expensive. I'm gonna try the Rustoleum primer you talked about. Cool project!
Honestly, I'm not a patreon for the benefits I get. I even watch the videos on the regular "free" schedule. I'm just a patreon to give that mad lad some deserved support so he can continue creating awesome content and work on amazing projects!
an air compressor will change your life, i think its a good investment to make not only for paint guns but air powered tools most of the time are way stronger and faster than electric. also a hvlp paint/clear/primer gun will spray at any angle you want :-) no more sputtering or dry finishes!
@gingium. I have a 30 gallon air compressor and a harbor freight HVLP. 30 gallons is more than enough. Just leave the compressor on. You arent spraying continously with an hvlp you spray for a few minutes then wait for it to flash between cross coats. 30 gal is plenty
You have got the prettiest Miata I have ever Caleb and I mean that as a complement as a long time subscriber, I have a daily short bed single cab 2000 F150 and between molly and the drift truck I have a lot of inspiration to look up to, I’m thinking about swapping out the old engine and putting in a new 3.5L eco boost
You don't need to prime the whole bay if you have already sanded the old paint, only in the areas where its cut through to metal or you have done repairs over.. Also that particular brand of primer is really good.. it also helps if you put it warm water for 10 mins.
I just used rustoleum primer when doing my engine bay. I have an 82 BMW 320is and I’m doing the engine bay gold. I have a pretty good paint gun, I’m still learning to get confident with it. Wish me luck lol😂
I mean I've painted before with a $20 harbor freight spary gun and a 26 gallon air compressor running at 8cfm and the results were fantastic. Just my input
Gingium, you actually don't need a crazy air compressor to run a hvlp gun... A 30 ish gallon unit with 1-2 cfm output is enough to get the job done. A 60+ gallon tank and more flow definitely helps, but it's not required at all. Its actually far more important to have a good dryer on your feed than a massive compressor. You should be able to get a decent quality gun, air compressor, dryer, regulator and Everything you need for under 500 bucks.
The paint looks great, and besides- you can't see imperfections Through the camera, and you certainly can't see the engine bay from the driver's seat ;) Good video
You should try running the new engine without the turbo for a bit. Everyone needs to experience a high compression naturally aspirated engine at some point in their life. Oh, and the Spray Max paint is awesome. I've worked in a body shop, I like using professional HVLP setups, but I still use the Spray Max cans. I use primer I get at my local hardware store though. It was like $7 CAD for a can. Works great. Plasti-kote I think.
That clear coat is very impressive for a spray paint. I’ve used it and it is very hard to use. Unfortunately you have to be careful with the clear coat because it’s not as durable as regular clear coat
2k clear is some good stuff. i did some sideskirts on my car recently and its held up amazing and cant believe the finish. spray cans suck for the fact you can not hold them at angles or spray at certain angles. and just so you know the cheap harbor freight spray gun is a good gun to use for primer there are so many shops that use them lol its pretty funny. and im not talking about shitty shops either.
Know how you pressed the plastic lid into the base of the 2K can? Pro tip, put a bit of metal in your palm, like a coin or round scrap. Putting stuff through your palm because weak plastic broke is not a good time.
Ever thought about using graffiti spray paint? The cans are really cheap and I think, that the paint is actually really good quality. If you take Molotow for example, they have stuff like "anti-run" "no dust" "all season" and in euros cost only 3,95€.
Hey brotha, I watch this video back alot because I'm planning on doing the same thing to my bay. Couple questions though, what was that black paint you sprayed before primer? And also how is the paint holding up currently? Could you maybe do an update vid to show it? I appreciate all the content and knowledge you bring bro keep it up💯🙏
Looks really good I won’t lie but kinda bummed on the rattle can idea of it. 2k i have used for several parts but if I was doing my whole bay or anything big like a body panel I would for sure get it professionally done. Even knowing I will beat it up a little working on the car
Seeing you yeet that can of primer into the ground and then yell was way too relatable 🤣🤣
i was frightened, that was like real rage there
I have never seen him get so angry so fast but I can 100% relate
sometimes just anger purges

it kills me every time
I never noticed the old adventure bus cabinets in the shop until now.
Yoooo fr though
That’s crazy lol
is the old car the dadsun? I've been waiting forever to see it come back
yes
The rally Miata build has been very fun and interesting. I loved it. It will be fun to see this car off-road. Video idea: Drag race rally Miata vs molly/turbo miata
this !
Yee! Patreon for the win! Keep it up!
Why did Molly look so scared when you took the front bumper off😂
So get rustolum primer then expensive paint and you’ll have an amazing paint job
Gingium you are such a DIY guy it’s so fun to watch thanks for the content!!
Okay you motivated me to finally paint the visor I got for my ranger. Also glad I got rustoleum primer.😂

The heck happened while you were painting?? 😅
When you threw that spray can.. I felt that... I really did!
I painted my Chaser with a 40l 150lpm compressor and a HPLV gun. You just need to take your time and be patient. Much easier than messing around with paint tins.
*happy music playing*
*paint can slams into the ground at terminal velocity*
Ging: F**K
*Happy music continues playing*
Hey Caleb,
Paint looks good 👌
Didn't expect Gingium to actually "enraged" with that spray can
Nonetheless, you did well on waking me up from getting induced to that chill beats
Geez man... that engine bay came out beautiful. 👍🏻
So underrated you tuber. Straight grinding & actually get projects done!!
New paint is always the answer xD
Every youtuber I watch has so much trouble with doing their own paint. I have so much respect for paint shops
Dude I uses the same primer yesterday and your experience sounds exactly the same as mine. That stuff is either desert or runs and indeed expensive. I'm gonna try the Rustoleum primer you talked about.
Cool project!
can't wait for this thing to run
Looks great to me
I really love that paint even though its more expensive, you can see the results 👍🏼
8:48 was not expecting that
Engine bay looks fresh
So why did you sawzall the radiator support? That's a major structural support
Watching you yeet that can was very satisfying js
Yo gingium your merch site isn't working rn.
I liked the video just because of ur rage it was awesome and so relatable😂😂

😍 thank you for the support man!
@@_Gingium_ I love seeing you live the life I could only dream of. Keep up the great work man!
14:00 hell yea brother
Wauw, really looks slick!
Zacks there, instant like
High comp setup? Awesome.

I'd love to do this sort of stuff with my 5 but I'm not bold enough or brave enough 😂😂 Looks brilliant. 👏
LOVE FROM MALAYSIA 🇲🇾❤️❤️❤️
So excited for the swap🤙
Watching this video while solving a coolant leak. How lovely

spraymax 2k clear is good spray can clear, its almost spray gun quality, and should hold up well.
I’ve a 200l 10CFH compressor and I use hvlp guns and I could spray a whole car no problem
It may be blue but it's the bomb
8:50 literally me at work when I run out of glass cleaner.
As long as the engine bay is protected from rust that's really all that matters
Use trans star primer it's the best drys really quick and it come in every primer color
Im not a patreon but I got here as fast as possible!
it doesnt matter if the finish is good or bad atleast there is paint
you should paint the valve covers like a metallic green to match the seat belts
I just used rustoleum primer when doing my engine bay. I have an 82 BMW 320is and I’m doing the engine bay gold. I have a pretty good paint gun, I’m still learning to get confident with it. Wish me luck lol😂
Warm up the can with warm water and check the spray pattern on the nozzle
Releasing the same time that 'ol Cleetur does a massive PPV event must absolutely destroy the early viewer stats on this video.
@8:48 *slams primer can into ground*
"FUU-"
I love Spraymax cans they are awesome 👌

I want the Audi drift car videos!
Please!!!

Good video
If you wet the floor air particulates stick to the floor so no dust gets in your paint or clear coat

Back with another vidiou!
Yes!!!
The Miata looks like a FnaF animatronic without the front bumper
I like that color, I wouldn’t mind having an AMC Gremlin in that color.
You can buy multiple cheaper air compressors and hook them together to get more scfm and volume. That's what I did to run my air tools.
Next time you want a low cfm hvlp gun try Eastwood. I use there guns and they're pretty good
Rust-Oleum needs to get their shit together and hit my boi with the big ol' box of self-etching primer.
2:39 that's what she said
Know how you pressed the plastic lid into the base of the 2K can? Pro tip, put a bit of metal in your palm, like a coin or round scrap. Putting stuff through your palm because weak plastic broke is not a good time.
Yo. a bit late here but nice nice lineup with f bomb drop to the beat.
Make the rocker cover sparkly blue with the metal shavings

The return of Snack Pringle

3:22 Hey gingium, what brand headlights are you running?
Are we ever going to get an update on the RX7 with it’s new owner???
Wish I had a shop to do that to mine!....Fo Realz!....
8:49 😂😂
10:11 😂😂
@Ocha Duncan xD
i never use primer and i have made really durable paint jobs only use rustoleum
eyyyyyyyy zack's here!!!!
505k getting there bro
Looks really good I won’t lie but kinda bummed on the rattle can idea of it. 2k i have used for several parts but if I was doing my whole bay or anything big like a body panel I would for sure get it professionally done. Even knowing I will beat it up a little working on the car
WAAAAAAAIT,what?
Why did you you cut the metal peace behind the front bumper?
I had the same problem with the 2k clear, cans tilting and it splattered out nasty.
What were the things you cut off on the passenger side of the firewall?
Just remember that self etching primers still need a sealer primer on top
I’ve used that 2K clear coat on my front splitter the paint chips off when doing 100+mph but it will be fine for engine bay
Can I just ask what was the need to cut out that front cross section on what was otherwise an almost pristine car?!?!?
I think it was rusty, and he is going to replace it.
Rust Oleum Rules
