+EricJh21690 that was kinda the bad thing about it, i dont wanna say he was crazy but back then he was at least kinda crazy (bi polar etc) it seems since he shaved his head he's gotten a grip on it a lot better, so who knows? maybe mental illness is stored in the hair.
also im not trying to talk shit just in case any bozo's dont get it, I've got mental illness as well/personality disorder/whatever you wanna call it, and those that have it are pretty good at noticing it in other people.

Steve Edmondson It looks like he is doing a Richie Kotzen lick. So basically, he’ll do the first line of three notes and then he’ll bar the next string below and hit that note underneath and pull back for effect. It’s a Paul Gilbert/Richie Kotzen lick.

Not really. This Devin video is from 2008 (but the channel uploaded the video to youtube in 09) Slipknot Vol 3 Subliminal Verses was released in 2004. He was using Charvel, and a Fender Tele Flathead, and Showmaster that come stock with EMG's. So......Jim was kinda first.
In the Devin Townsend - Great Average Guitar (Instructional Video) (which is from Infinity era - circa 1998) he used a >old< tele wth an EMG :P
This vid is from 2005-2006 during Alien-Synchestra days, its not 2008, he was already bald and sober in 2008.

The Teles were one-offs for him.
The 7-string was a super-limited custom shop model. Only 4 exist, to my knowledge.
