    Any other suggestions for things I could have tried? How would you have attempted to fix it?

  • @quiddy
    @quiddy Год назад +3

    In addition to adding lead where you did, I would:
    1. Add lead inside your butt cap or around the base of racquet where it meets the butt cap
    2. Remove the dampener
    3. Use natural gut

    • @TheSklizo
      @TheSklizo  Год назад

      Not really a natural gut and no dampener kind of guy. I'm sure it works for some really well though!

      @@TheSklizo help me understand what players like you who use dampeners the sensation the dampeners provide - is it the more deadened, more muted feel or the lack of vibration? I’m trying to understand because if the vibration is the one that helps you know you’re hitting the sweet spot, then putting the vibration dampener would give you less feedback and you guys prefer that way?
      It looks like the majority of players DO use dampeners so I’m trying to understand so I can try from that perspective.

    Try power pads. I managed to make it better via adding kimony pads to the bottom 3 u turns

    I saw your short about the pro staff v13 and was wondering if you played with it for some time? If so, did you play it stock? I have been playing with it with lead (2g at 10 and 2g at 2) and liking it a lot. Granted I’m not very close to your level but I thought moving the sweet spot a bit higher made the frame play quite well. Great control good power moderate spin. Love the content :)

      Hey! I played it stock, I tend to like a lower swingweight so I didn’t even think about putting lead in the hoop. I think that would make the racquet play much better. Seems to work well for you so that’s excellent!! 😁

    Sorry it didn’t work… If I get this 95, most likely I will play stock…. How do the PA 98 and the VC 95 compare stock wise, and which one would you take to a tournament if you had to choose either in stock form? Ciao, John

    • @TheSklizo
      @TheSklizo  Год назад

      Hey John! Only got to play with the aero vs, not the new 98. I would say that the aero vs stock is easier to use than the 95, but it would be better if you added lead. 95 is a more complete racquet stock.

    350g and 320sw is a great setup! ... If I do say so myself :D
    The string tension will be quite different for the long crosses vs. the shorter ones. You can try lowering the tension on the shorter ones (when you eventually restring. Otherwise a hair dryer on the shorter section).

    • @TheSklizo
      @TheSklizo  Год назад +1

      I should have tried this, I think a lower tension for this racquet in general is a great thing! appreciate the tip!

    Why don't you try adding weight to the handle. I put 20g of silicone into the handle of my Pro Staff 97 (non RF version) and it turned it into an absolute beast. High static weight, but super maneuverable thanks to the headlight balance. The only problem with silicone is that you can't easily take it out once you put it in. If you change the synthetic grip on your Vcore to a leather one, it will add about 10g to the overall weight and make your racquet more headlight and not increase the swingweight too much.

      Definitely could have tried this, however it was a demo and I no longer have it in my possession. Honestly the racquet is probably fine, it just needs fine tuning and modifications to get it to work properly, that frankly I don't feel like spending a lot of time on.

    On my backhands and serves I hit towards the top, while on my forehands I am a little lower. However, I need a stable backhand in order to keep up in rallys.

      It is a tough dilemma to be in. I know your pain.

  • @MiracleAgeGKS

    I did put together about 7,5g around 12 and 3&9 plus another 3g to handle, and tbh is seems to be a great razor with sweet spot in the middle of head. In total it gives almost 340g (frame+string+grips+lead tape+damper), but it's really worth it. If you are still hiting by bottom part of head it means you are late with your legs bro. ;)

    • @TheSklizo
      @TheSklizo  Год назад +3

      Of course it means I am not positioned well/late. But I can only get so much faster and precise with my footwork. The higher up you go in the quality of tournaments, typically the faster the shots come back at you. So for me, if they keep getting faster then I need to either get faster or play with something more forgiving. A great example is the pro tour where there are tons of aeros being played with, but not a ton of vcore 95s. Those guys are some of the fastest in the world and they still choose to play with a more forgiving racquet. If I can find something easier to play with, then I absolutely will! I am glad it is working out for you though!

      @@TheSklizo but remember that when you play with good opponents then mostly they don't play straight on your body. They mostly shot from side to side, so hitting by bottom of head would mean that you were... too fast? ;)
      I can recommend to grab some stencil ink and make some paint some on strings, such as cross or circle around sweet spot. Then check after practice where ink has gone mostly. After my customization I found out its gone perfectly from they point I wanted to hit by. :)

  • @slowbot68
    @slowbot68 Год назад +1

    the fix is to get used to the higher sweet spot, not make it like a racquet with a lower sweetspot

    • @TheSklizo
      @TheSklizo  Год назад +5

      I already have a high contact point, what I’m trying to do is make it more forgiving on off center shots when I’m scrambling. It’s tough to be 100% perfect all the time when the ball is coming as fast as it does on the ITF tour. Just some extra help from the frame is appreciated!

    You have great timing and a great stroke, but you really need to work on your footwork, looking a little heavy, I think you are too high, wider stance and getting lower with more small steps will help you a lot.
