    My 38 year old daughter developed chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and migraines at the age of 3 after a blood infection and very high fever of unknown origin. I am a nurse and it was very frustrating that doctors didn't believe us. We just now feel like science is catching up with us. Sadly, it took the recognition of "long covid" as a cluster of symptoms that can appear and be permanent after an infection/virus to validate her ongoing disability. I would add that her life became much more bearable when she found a part-time job working with mentally challenged adults. Getting her own brain cells firing again led to a cascade of positives outcomes. Her thinking, productivity and stamina are much improved and continued to improve. I encourage disabled persons to work WITH their disability rather than just give up. My daughter still has bad days and I do have to help her a bit financially, but the fact that she now has HOPE is such a huge development for us.

      That's quite a thing for you all to go through. I'm glad more awareness around this problem is making life easier and your daughter is getting on better these days.

    The neuroscientists I've learned from said doing things like crossword puzzles or watching RUclips videos where you're NOT learning anything significant will NOT help your brains health. Alcoholics or even those who drink frequently WON'T have deep sleep.

      I'd agree with that. There HAS to be an element of challenge. It's got to be HARD to force remodelling.

    Hi Ari - great discussion/interview as ever, thank you. One question: At 56:25 (and also at 56:37), Dr Kharrazian mentions something I couldn't hear clearly, but he describes as a botanical. The transcript on your website says it's 'Vinpocetine', but I believe that this is man-made (although based on a plant) and generally used to improve various brain functions (such as memory, hearing loss and in dementia). It is stated as having numerous side-effects and not recommended for long term use.
    Can you confirm whether this has been transcribed correctly and, if not, what the correct word is please?

    • @TheEnergyBlueprint
      @TheEnergyBlueprint  3 месяца назад +1

      The transcription on the website is accurate in this case.
      Vinpocetine is a synthetic compound derived from the periwinkle plant, and it is often used to improve brain function. It does have potential side effects and is not typically recommended for long-term use.

      Wow...I'm surprised, then, at Dr Kharrazian's description of it as a botanical and that he uses it regularly.

Alcoholics or even those who drink frequently WON'T have deep sleep. If he hasn't studied trauma and brain harm he's not going to know polyvagal theory.
