But it was mentioned that they didn't care who they took. And Umbra wasn't a volunteer I believe? Issah didn't seem aware and Ballas seemed to have forced it on Umbra by him "accidentally" getting infected. Or he did get infected accidentally but Ballas didn't care and saw this as an oppertunity

She is practically invincible, more so than all of the other WFs.
With the right mods she can practically keep her energy level high.
Only weaknesses are the nullifiers and infested that drains energy when you are to close.
If MatPat ever does a deep-dive into Warframe, he’s gonna find himself entangled in a web that is just as big or maybe even bigger then FNAF. Hopefully he does there is so much to unpack in this game.

It’s not that tangled but I can see what you mean the first few lore missions like the first dream quest just hurtes my brain when I played it. In other words the lore is easier to understand the further you are in the game

@@NormanReaddis Dark Sector is a separate canon. Warframe references it alot because Dark Sector is essentially a fleshed out and heavily altered version of Warframe's original concept. But the actual events of Dark Sector and Warframe are not connected

The only thing stealthy about Warframe is mass murder stealth, if nobody is alive, nobody can report it.
The +500 percent afinity boost for stealth kill streaks is actually really great for leveling
Loki is a stealth frame as is Ivara.

the best part is, if mat really loves lore, then he will have a lot to dig in, from warframes, to weapons, to missions and quests, like cetus, fortuna, demios, or titania, limbo, excalibur umbra and, or vor's obsession, the queens... lots of lore
Agreed. We definitely need an indepth on New War ALONE, let alone all the other lore he could go through. It's true the infestation isn't worth much since it's pretty much just the discount version of the Flood, but everything else in the game has a shocking amount of depth to their lore. Maybe that's why he's not covering it; the sheer quantity of lore scares him. lol

To be fair even DE spoiled it in the launcher already. It's a hard twist to keep under wraps. Now I'm tying to hide the spoilerer mode... It's not going well.

The only other big spoiler the story has is the existence of operator mode, which is required for the theory so... Yeah.
Although ok, the Natah thing wasn't mentioned, and that's pretty much the third and last twist.
@@OtakuJuanma2 yeah operator mode was a massive game changer and my mind was exploded when I first did the quest. Even after watching someone farm eidolons, I just thought those tiny characters were playable characters from cetus and not this whole in depth lore thing. It was honestly amazing

Spoils and yet also screws up the lore. The infestation used to make warframes doesn't drive the person insane, it destroys their mind leaving them an empty husk. Umbra was nuts but that is because he was a special variant strain made to torture the guy that is inside.

8:52 Keep in mind, Corpus infantry units use identical shielding technology so it might actually just be plain old solid tech. I mean, modern warframes can include a wealth of mechanical and even Sentient components such as Gauss and Caliban so it’s not all flesh and blood. Hell, even some classic warframes have a bit of metalworking. What do you think those metal apparatuses on Mag’s arms do?

@@lag00n54 I know. It’s just that MatPat was trying really hard to equate a force-field generator to biology, that’s all. He was trying to portray Warframes as entirely biomechanical but it’s a mix between biomechanical and cybernetic.
@@jacksonmorse8516 you are indeed correct. Alot of warframes still do have cybernetic aspects, it's just the biomechanical aspect as a base. I think MatPat also failed to mention how the Tenno and The Void ties into the Warframe's abilties. Considering that it's implied that each Warframe is made with a different purpose and skillset in mind, and the Tenno's abilities and transference is like it's power supply. Warframes channel the void energy into it's abilities, these abilities could be like Ember's Fire, Limbo's Rift, and Valkyr's Pure Wrath. Then again The Sacrifice quest retconned that with Umbra, implying Umbra can use it's Exalted Blade without a tenno, then again Umbra is a unique case being a Warframe that's mind was never mended by a Tenno Operator for supposedly hundreds of years.
Wait why include Gauss in sentient compent list? I love Gauss so finding out new lore for him always makes me happy
Also my head canon is that Rhino uses gravity tech for his stomps and the fact that he is made from the most heaviest materials but can traverse tight ropes and such without making damage (Ofc it can be a gameplay thing but it will be canon to me, and tech that can alter gravity does exist or can exist and won't be surprising of they did reveal it)

It's important to mention that some frames were forced to mutate, whereas others possibly volunteered. Umbra Excalibur is a Dax that gained too much influence and was forced to be a frame

excalibur umbra's progenitor was forced to become a warframe as a punishment for trying to uncover the Orokin Executor Ballas' plans to betray his empire. Umbra was different from the other frames as Ballas has transference control over him, and forced Umbra to kill his own son AND remember that ecact memory only, whereas other frames have their sentience, conciousness and memories wiped clean for easier control.
Not entirely correct. Umbra was forced to change as punishment by Ballas for attempting to foil Ballas’s plan to aid the sentients.
The Orokin realy did have a nasty habbit of turning those that did them dirty into machines. Looking at you former "beast of bones".

I'm a New Player and I did the farming it was a nightmare now I'm mastery rank 10
Im mr17 with 1000+ hours, was very hyped to the new war and watched some of the Devstreams. When I noticed tI needed necramech, I just forgot it and haven't done or seen it yet

This is, because there are already special materials that can mimic the properties of biological muscles. These materials are called artificial muscles.
Artificial muscles can already do some things better than their organic counterparts. For example some types of artificial muscles can lift loads that are a dozen times, a hundred times, or even a thousand times heavier than what biological muscles can lift (however, from what I have been able to see, artificial muscles typically have terrible energy efficiencies, when they have higher lifting capabilities). In addition to this, some types of artificial muscles have better energy efficiencies than their biological counterparts (for example organic muscles typically have an energy efficiency of around 20-30%. In contrast some types of artificial muscles have energy efficiencies of around 80-90%).
There are other properties (other than lifting capability, and energy efficiency) that judge the qualities of artificial muscles. But these 2 things are the ones that readily come to my mind.

@@DuckiBoiHasPizza the thing that lets gas pierce is toxin damage. Gas damage creates a small aoe toxin cloud so the damage itself that does pierce is toxin.
True damage doesnt exist in wf.
Slash still needs to break shield before dealing hp damage and yes i can confirm that because slash doesnt bleed hp on enemies when you go on high shield sorties on the version I played.

true has no proc but deals dmg ignoring armor and you deal it by for example finisher/stealth attacks

Back when I played I found Warframe had SOO much hidden info.
There is lots of little bits like did you know there is Blue Kuva or did you remember your warframe brakeing the War sword in Second dream yeah that was the person who's body was made into the warframe gaining concessions to save you from staker its also possible Stalker is not a Tenno just a Warframe that's not mind broken similar yo Umbra.

Matt got more or less everything wrong about the game, a lot of misleading information, and with him getting paid to do it he definitely didn't do any actual research on the game.
My guess is he skimmed the wiki for bare bones information and then crammed it into stuff that had not to do with how Warframes actually work.

Veteran Warframe player here! Without spoiling too much, (spoiler warning anyway) there's one Warframe mystery I would really, really like to see MatPat tackle: Who, or What, is the Man in the Wall?
I have my reservations about this one after seeing the Hollow Knight one.
There are similarly lots of small pieces of evidence that are easily glossed over.

fun lore thing: the children who became Tenno weren't chosen at random or anything. The Orokin (the system-spanning civilization that everyone's living in the ruins of) discovered this sort of "between-space", known as the void, and was sending ships through it. One of these ships, designated Ten-Zero, crashed, and the Tenno were the survivors.
Well "crash" is a mild way to put it.

While this science brings us closer to Tenno, it also brings us closer to EVAs.
Honestly it will probably reach the Ghost in the Shell level, Matrix, "I,Robot", Chappy(2015), Screamers(1995), or Terminator level before the others you mentioned.

She's not really all that complex, is she? All we know is she was used by Alad V. for the Zanuka project... the pain of the experiments turned her into the berserker we all know and love today

(In lore how valkyr is supposed to/did look prior to the zanuka project with Alad V),
The base valkyr design
(The version ransacked and shredded for parts by Alad V),
and the prime design
(Which as a Prime, which in lore is the original Orokin design of a frame, looks like stripped and damaged valkyr instead of geresemi valkyr, the unfucked valkyr)
Making sense of this accidental lore clusterfuck would be pain unimagined.

I think one of the most valuable things I can take away from this is the fact that working out actually is a process of destroying & repairing muscles... which I guess helps bring sense to the saying “no pain, no gain”

Hey Matt, Warframe vet here. Loved the video, unfortunately some of it was quite off the mark but not to worry as it wasn't things you would easily find and it was still a great video. If you do the full story and delve into the lore then there is LOTS for you to make theories on. Here's three: The Duviri Paradox, the drifter, the man in the wall. I'm sure community streams with us will go down well (I'm xbox however so I can't join till crossplay, oh yeah we're getting crossplay between everything at once so in one squad you have a PC Player, console player, switch player, and mobile phone player)

One of my favorite things about warframe is how even though some stuff is locked behind the premium currency (platinum) you don't technically ever have to pay money to get it.
If you really want something that's premium only you can go item hunting for other players. In game markets let you sell rare items to other players for platinum. If you want to get an item and pay less for it or skip the grinding for it. You can pay other players to grind it for you

Knowing the Warframe Lore better kinda breaks the Theory but still fun to watch from the IRL Perspective
To be honest Matt was reaching with this video, he should have done more research as none of the real world tech matches the Warframe technology.
Limbo for example the frame/person according to it's lore it was able to move and use it's abilities without a tenno and because of a mistake tore his apart during a rift adventure.
Titatina(sp) scarficed herself to save the silver Grove and the researcher who hated her, tenno not necessary for that frame to function.
There are so many examples of sane frames.
I swear it's like he did very little research on the game itself and tried to fit real world tech that doesn't match Warframe technology at all.

@@GengarExtremis Silvana worked with Margulis on transferrence technology but only ever used it to bond with the Silver Grove. Silvana despised Titania because Ballas turned her into a weapon of war.

The tenno isn't all that bad, in fact it's the easy part.
No it's becoming a Warframe that is painful, but the sacrifice is also a very and I mean very unique frame.

thats pretty much what happens in warframe. everything is biomachinery, even your ship is made of meat.
the Orokin empire pretty much screwed themselves going full mad scientist and their own creations went against them with the tenno and the warframes turning genocidal and killing all of the higher Orokin

I love seeing the comments section full of Warframe fans. I'd defo recommend MatPat playing through the story and speaking to those Warframe Lore Veterans as it's amazing, saddening, sometimes confusing and always has alot of unanswered questions - it's perfect for theories.

Man in the wall is too far into the game for new players like MatPat plus you need to do lot of stuff to get extra lore bits , especially ranking up the necra Loid and collecting all of the info that there is on the void from the days of Orokin tower keys like Ember prime codes entry

5:50 Actually there's a very interesting thing with this. In game it is not referred to as plainly just "Levels" but rather "Mastery" and "Rank" Your armaments and gear going from rank 0 "Unranked" to rank 30 and with rare exceptions of a few items that reach rank 40 and your self over all within the Tenno have your mastery rank which not only shows a hierarchy within the Tenno but *Also* provides you with more strength and you get this mastery rank by "Mastering" your armaments, aka ranking them up from Unranked to Max Rank (Not the *Only* way, but the main way that you will see) this all comes together and shows this sense of rather just getting more muscular the Operator gets more Keen and Privy to how their weapons and selves work, growing stronger beyond just muscle mass and getting things like more storage for void traces or, on the topic of warframes, more Mod Capacity and certain over all boosts to your stats. Mod Capacity itself is a whole beast on it's own though and as much as I want to continue in order to give a fuller picture I'd start to spoil stuff soooo I'll let ya' dig into that on your own to enjoy the juicy lore.
