For anyone else curious about the butter sticks, here’s the Food Network’s explanation! “To understand why East Coast and West Coast butter sticks come in different sizes, we’ll need a quick history lesson. ‘The machines used to first process and pack butter were purchased in the 1920’s and 1930’s. At that time, the East Coast dominated dairy production. While the West Coast had butter cooperatives, the industry wasn’t at the caliber it is today,’ Totah explains. ‘They began ramping up production in the 1960s and by 1975, California was the second leading dairy production in the country. By that time, the original Elgin machines used for processing and packing the longer, skinnier sticks of butter were no longer available. They instead purchased new machinery that cut the sticks into shorter, fatter sticks.’”
The scallion knife is for making decorative items. The reason that the spike stops the blades going further is to create a scallion with a frond like tail. It's definitely not intended for cutting the hollow green ends of the scallion.
I live in the Midwest, I've never seen your "standard" sized butter in my life. All of our grocery stores only sell the size that fits that butter gadget
@theresaboles33 I mean I've seen sticks from Sam's club that are a single stick the size of 4 of the long ones (imagine our surprise when we opened the box lol) but never ever the "standard" ones
14:48 I love how Molly reads the review, it's literally like she is reading a book and she was actually vividly painting the picture in my head as I was walking around my room cleaning

The pressure from the bottle shoots off any small shards. You are left with a clean almost sanded surface. Think ocean glass. I've done a lot of sabrage. Though don't do things if you aren't comfortable. Sabrage is a cool estetique and 100% not necessary.

Leave it to mike and ro to turn 1 Star stuff into five stars with the enthusiasm and emotion . Mike 2:20 made this a five star product. ❤ . 8:39 her tone in this was outstanding. And face reaction boss vibes. Yup.
Regarding the butter, here in Oregon, it's about 50/50 skinny or fat sticks. As for the cheese grater, I have one of those that I use constantly. My only thought for the review is that some of them can be set up for right or left-handed use, and if they had it set up wrong, they may have been trying to use it backwards. Cleaning is really easy, just remove the blade and put the pieces in the dishwasher or hand-wash with a bottle brush.
Talking about safety after sabering some wino, weeeell :D Sabering is a silly thing for silly fancy parties, one time showoff and not for drinking. While a low chance; getting glass shards in ones drink, or stuck in a rug/patio, bad time.
FYI Emeril is not Italian, he is of Portuguese and French descent, originally from Massachusetts and does Cajun and Creole cuisine. He also sold his companies and has nothing to to do with the kitchen products made and sold.
I wanted to say this as well. Lol but I didn’t want to seem rude. If I remember correctly he went to the same high school as my dad, but he graduated either a little before or after my dad. But they grow up in the same area, I believe. My dad also happens to be half Portuguese/half French Canadian.
The scallion cutter is not used like that. You hold the handle and drag the blades horizontally (from white to green)over the scallion to make ribbons.
Oh gosh, with that sabre I'd be so afraid of getting glass fragments in my drink that it'd be a waste for me. It looks fun for sure, but not worth the risk imo.
For the sabre. It looks nice but the same result can happen with any chefs knife. I've even used a replica of the Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda.
My mom got me a set of pans like they tested. It doesn’t have the lock that covers the release button. They’re really small but perfect for one person and I don’t think the set I have claims any nonstick properties and did not see anything on the instructions that came with mine that said to not leave the handles on when on high heat. I love my set but I definitely will continue using my silicone kitchen utensils instead of the hand-me-down metal utensils I have
My problem with the pasta machine is that it was putting slivers of the black plastic into our pasta after about three uses. Otherwise it was an awesome machine that you can buy different attachments for. My house mainly used it for the masticating juicer which is extremely easy to clean.
Oh my goodness, when you have fake nails or long real nails, even shorter nails you always use the side of your finger to open a can NEVER with your nails! 💅🏼 They do have this contraption that you replace the lid of a 2 L and after you screw it on you pump it a few times and it most certainly works to keep the carbonation in a 2 L, I have used it for many years and I am still impressed.
@@RosannaPansinoI literally had no idea this was a thing until like a year ago! It’s so weird to me that this difference exists, the stubby sticks look so weird to me 🤣
Okay so the handle for the pan is specifically for hot stuff like if the handle of the pan is too hot you use attachment and can move around the pan easily... For safety purposes it is written no using over high flame but after the flame is turned off you can use it without the handle being too hot to hold on to .. You’re supposed to grate the Parmesan with the hole facing upwards and then tip it onto the food when you have the amount you want so it doesn’t go everywhere
I Am brand new to your channel but I just wanted to give this piece of information. I am lactose intolerant myself. My mom actually visited a cheese factory and what they told her is priceless. You can eat any cheese or dairy product that has no sugars in it and you won't get sick. The cheese products I am able to eat without a lactose pill are hard cheeses like Parmesan cheese cheddar cheese that comes in a block the cheese is that make me sick a little bit are the soft cheeses like Velveeta. I can eat feta without getting sick. Lactose is milk sugars if there's no sugars in the cheese it will have no lactose do some trial and error.
I've remember seeing a weird video on the history of butter in the US...and there's a shorter size that is sold more on the West Coast and then there's a longer one that is more East Coast...
The bigger stick size is only standard in the Western US (about 12 states). The "skinny stick" is the standard size in the rest of the US. I only learned about this a few months ago, I don't live in the western US so I always wondered why some cooking channels seemed to have huge sticks of butter! now we know :)
The soda topper was not created to keep the carbonation in the can. Its original design was to keep bees and bugs out of your can of soda while you are outside.
I love Ro and her videos. I live on the east coast and i have never see the kind of butter she has that in short we typically have the long skinny butter sticks. Personally i have heard a bunch of Californians consider things that are standard in California a standard for everyone else in the US. California has so many rules and things that are so different compared to the rest of the US. And i am not trying to say the rest of the US is all the same which is isn't, but majority of people who live in California or specifically LA consider the whole US is the exact same as them.
Also fun fact hard cheeses like Parmesan and cheddar have little to no lactose, because of how they’re made… similar with Brie, feta and Camembert… so if you’re intolerant, give those a try and see if they don’t bother you! Maybe you’d be able to still have cheese on occasion. 🎉❤
