@@jesuisradmusicthe dunk, along with a cut scene from island sanctuary made me think the Golden Saucer update was absolutely going to be Blitzball. Now I've moved onto thinking it's going to be the 7.0 alliance raid 😂
53:53 now Jesse NEEDS to convince Mathas to pick up this game again. This questline is tailor made for Chilluminati. Jesse's double facepalm reaction to Pupu's lukewarm reveal about the Mandervillians is so relatable. The revelations in this questline somehow ended up being one of the most important, funniest and wholesome thing I've ever witnessed in this game, and that's saying a lot. This was definitely worth the 10 years of waiting.
I JUST realized they did make a low poly grape joke except that it wasn’t about the grapes themselves but a low poly Hildibrand complementing the new grapes. I love it.
58:50 considering that the coblyn was able survive a little jc dunking followed by an explosion... heck not just survive but was able to walk away as if nothing happened... maybe it is a symbiote.
Here's my bet. Vanhudi is creating a clone army and talking about "the manifestation" going as planned. You know what that sounds like to me? A primal summoning. He's running the King Thordan gambit to supercharge himself with primal power, but using the prayers of his own cloned selves. And that's what the Manderville Trial fight will be.
Either that; or another worst case scenario would be: given experience with the Hildibrand duplicates, those copies of Vanhudi will likely undergo some form of “identity crisis.” I mean; those copies seem near indistinguishable from the *original* in every aspect and may undergo an existential crisis and go into conflict with one another, assuming they are used as “cannon fodder” in a showcase to show off his _superior_ army. Therefore a possible rebellion might take place and may get “monkey paw’d.”
The cutscene starting at 20:55 gives me everything I could want in a Hildibrand adventure, and more, and may very well be one of the greatest cutscenes in all of XIV
I used to be very meh on Manderville.. but that cutscene? It really is one of my favourite ingame cutscenes in all of Final Fantasy. Much like my character I've gone from viewing it all as madness to embracing it wholeheartedly
I feel like people didn't realized that what Godbert says at 1:05:47, when alongside the similarity of Godbrand's family in the recording to the current generation of House Manderville family), suggests that somehow, they went full-Alabama most of the time(And also didn't have any problems with their physiology over the course of multiple generations of kids btw). This fact was hidden in plain sight and I was laughing out loud when I realized it.
it implies a lot of things without confirming anything. The obvious other joke to set up is that the family line was broken and our current Mandervilles are descendants of an adoptee, with the possibility that Julyan is the actual alien descendant... or the coblyn. I'm holding out for the revelation that Godbrand wasn't an alien either though, he just hit his head and became convinced he was one
Theory for Julyan is that she is decended from someone who came from the 13th shard. Supporting evidence is the red aura when she was at her supposed peak condition by Gigi in heavensward and the possible explanation on why she is so strong and looks so young
i was so shocked when i saw Pupu. such a nice touch. random alien from very obscure throwaway sidequest in ff8.i love it when they do ff8 stuff like diablos, quetzacoatl, ff8 overworld music and now pupu. im still hoping pandemona will make an appearance one day
OK when my friends and I learned the origins of the Mandervilles...We couldn't believe it so much that one laughed, one had to step away and take a walk...and I was stunned silent...
I love how they keep giving us options to out ourselves as poor. First chocobo racing, now orchestrations... The game needs to stop calling me out, what's next glams? Housing items?
All these cool sports related final attack (volleyball spike, football kick, and basketball dunk) in the Hildy quests makes me wish it means blitzball is coming xD
Personally I think it's more a case of "the blood of Numenor is all but spent," as opposed to what you said about the Manderville revelations. Still, when I saw that I openly went, "oh gods, what else is Delion right about?"
"The Warrior of Light will never be ballin."
26:54
*SPITS OUT DRINK*
Ain't no flipping way they hit us with an All Tomorrows feat. Venom backstory for the Mandervilles
Huge props to the writers for introducing such a huge revelation, yet it completely fits in with the established lore. And is hilarious.
I know right? I couldn't believe it either... The WoL can DUNK!!!
"This makes too much sense." ~Me

I was more satisfied by the 10 year build up of the Manderville lore than all of WoW lore in BFA/Shadowlands lol
I loved they put the lala stalker in a few scenes just to confuse the people who never see him lol
A few? This is the most prominent he's ever been. He was in almost every single scene
They gave up hiding him ever since SB
25:55 Best cutscene in the damn game.
I took so many screenshots of it! I love when our character gets into all the Hildy stuff.
If that doesn’t prove Blitzballer isn’t the next job for phys ranges I don’t know what will.
@stitches1110 oh! Wakkas job is coming to the game? That would be interesting.
Indeed, I absolutely love how we have completely embraced the insanity.
Lil JC executes a flawless Dunk of Light
25:50 Nashu really went "Screw it. We ball."

The face journey of "The essence of the dank" was priceless.

That thing's been following them around since ARR.
The true hero returns.
I am of course talking about Brandihild.
oh no, he is just a pale imitation of the original(nervous fiddling).
I keep getting worried they're going to kill him. Each time he blocks with a shield I'm expecting them to go for it and parody a certain death.
@@KMCA779 I was expecting that when he used the shield lol

my bet is he's a secret mandervillian descendant
I mean we know what the fan-fest trial will be; my bets are on that being it

geez for how small this Manderville quest chain was, it really packed a lot. Loved this!

I've actually been saving up for Return To Oblivion and couldn't stop laughing! 🤣
Just wait till they rework glams so people can more activly just collect looks and be less limited by the 800 storage.
Again, the complete embracing of the insanity is the best. We Dunkin' now boys and girls.
The Mandervillians aren't the Saiyans. They're the Goa'uld. lol The family relic is even a pyramid.
I still cant believe this series is in the game
This reminds me of Dark Pictures House of Ashes when Alex is like "It's Aliens"
I wonder which sportsball theyre gonna reference in the next hildibrand quests
I also love the implication that Hildibrand has ALWAYS had this mind palace ability, it's just never occured to him to try.
props to Lil JC, for pulling a Michael Jordan at the buzzer. KEKW
26:54 get that Lala a shoe deal NOW!
WoL be Ballin’
The Mandervilles are the Klyntars of the FF14 universe
I'm a bit upset that he never noticed the stalker puking sparkles, I would have loved to see Jesse's reaction to that.
Where was that?!
@@ericbright1742 right after they all take the experimental aetherite, he's on the opposite side of the staircase from the other characters.
CHAOS DUNK!

Aw, too bad. Jesse missed the dude act at Old Shayalan. When I was there I wonder, who make the emote there
Glorious

Idk why but Jesse doing Delion's voice sound very similar to Jean Bison from Sly Cooper xD
We can now say that the WOL be ballin
Planned since 1.0
In which we learn the Manderville family was started by a benevolent Genestealer.
Biggest question I had did the lala made it into the labyrinthos after being block at entrance😅
He did not, if you talk to him afterwards he says he was unable to go
26:58 Try that with a character more fitting for this sport - like a maximum height Au Ra and you'll be ballin' forever with THAT DUNK! 🏀
Aliens huh? Pretty wicked
26:54 - DUNK!
When I was spoiled on some of this story arc I misread the aliens as "Mandervillains." Who knows, that may still become a thing in 6.55...
This is absolutely ridiculous, and I love it :3
All my homies hate Cheating Way
gold saucer eh?
Where the hell is Thavnair? I don't see it on my teleport!
A fellow Red Mage
*tips fancy hat that I can't wear because Viera*
Heyyy! Why do the guards run so nicely, but a player character who is a male Au'ra has a goofy-ass run?
why did you make Nashu sound like a 90 year old grandma? lol
Hildebrand WoL >>> MSQ WoL
the WoL could be a Sports star. forget adventuring, Join all the sports teams.
Prepping for that Blitzball arc!
Star Player of the Lominsan Abes!
Might as well add in a new title to the Warrior of Light: the Warrior of *_BALLIN'!_*
