If you are gullible enough to believe that some female characters are actually female then you deserve what you get. There are loads of guys who have female characters and hide the fact I'm all games since forever.
I have a female character in game so whenever I see a person being a little too friendly I’m like they think I’m a girl don’t they and almost always that’s the case and I have to correct them and they literally stop interacting with me immediately
@@Spinboyyyyyit’s sad how that still happens. I started ff14 a week ago but until then, the last time I played a mmo was a decade ago. Thank you for not lumping those of us who run RP venues as a café or bar in with the billions of nightclubs. I will continue to run my very cute bakery happily with that blessing.
@@213Gremlin I don't run regular nights, though I plan to when things are settled a bit more IRL but it's on Balmung in the Goblet, Ward 28, Plot 56. You'll know it by the *supremely* obnoxious cake house walls
I love going to cute RP venues and bars doing slice of life RP. There have even been club venues that didn’t behave like the ones you see on twitch-with interactive games and activities to get people engaged. I miss Club Crescent’s events. 😢
I'm fairly sure popotoartist used to be a person who would come to RP gatherings and would draw WoW character in the same manner, tho I'm not 100% sure, and I am loath to entertain the idea that two people share the same annoying vibe lol. They were just as annoying back them. My guildmates and I made a game of entering their "draw your character for free" line and just using the most ridiculously elaborate shoulders we could find just to annoy them.
I genuinely feel bad for the sprouts that are just trying to make a little gil, and don't know that they are getting blacklisted by dozens of people for adverting in shout chat. 300k isnt worth it T_T
honestly the rp venues are alot nicer than the clubs i've found, the clubs expect you to watch boring dj streams, to pay for access just to look around which is cringe as heck, an their's not much going on besides the occasional dancing pretty boring stuff but if you like the noise an wanna pass out drunk/high i guess its a thing for you lol

I was tanking a dungeon once, where both DPS was obviously new, while I and the healer obviously had experience. We were in the Sunken Temple of Qarn, first boss. One of the DPS dies midway through the fight to doom, and the healer towards the end. After the boss, we wait around for the dead to return, but while waiting, the DPS that didn't die got curious and walked ahead to see what was next. He mistakenly pulls the next pack, which I then pick up and start kiting back towards the healer and running DPS. I know we don't quite have the damage to deal with the Bee one shot, so I figure getting everyone together asap would be the best call. To my surprise though, the healer just stops, stares and waits for me to die, after which they condescendingly spews bullshit like "That's what you get for pulling without a healer." I don't remember the exact words, but it was some absolute chimpanzee level of condescending stupidity.
I remember going through Lost City of Amdapor. First time was unsynced with a vet fc member so I literally didn’t get to learn the gimmicks of the bosses there. So second time in, I make the mistake of saying I love this dungeon, the music is amazing. Get to Diabolos. Some crazy gimmick I didn’t know about and wasn’t sure on the best way to carry out my role as tank so we’d wipe…about 3 times. The others are trying to explain how it works and even then I guess I left my brain unplugged because I’m still not getting it. One of the members gets SO PISSED they’re typing in all caps and eventually just leave 🤣 We then get it first try on the next person that filled in the missing spot lol
I'll be honest I would've let you die not because you did anything wrong but because if you die the aggro would die with you and the dps and we would all just start the pull fresh rather than taking a chance at each one of us dying one after the other as we struggle to survive
@@kiriuxeosa8716 Thing is, there was only like 2-3 mobs, which could be easily dispatched. The healer stood and stared for at least 5 or so seconds before I was killed, in order to be condescending. There was absolutely zero risk of struggle if they had just healed instead of being a Karen.
@@kyorisi4326 As someone who has played tank, dps and healer, my take is that no heaper should do that. Yes, it can be annoying, but mistakes happen and that's alright. After 3x of that happening I will however ask them to stop in chat. Same when I tank, I never do YPYT, instead I will either bear with it and ask them to stop on the 3rd time or I will simply make it impossible from happening, aka sprint spam and wtw. Tanks and healers shouldn't grief the party because the others messed up, but it's still very annoying as both tank and healer when a dps pre pulls, for tank it's because I need to linger and gather up all the scattered mobs in a panic, for healer it's because I now need to heal the tank AND dps instead of simply focusing the tank. Also side note but the vid maker threw out a lot of insults to these people which makes him sound as immature as the people he's insulting, regardless of whether I do or don't agree with his takes.
People’s instinct is to save LB for the boss because it’s a more threatening enemy. Sometimes it’s useful if you’re trying to finish the boss before it can cast a certain attack, but if it’s a regular dungeon then your focus is usually on clearing as fast as possible. If you’re trying to clear fast, then using the caster LB on a large trash pull is definitely better than saving it for boss.
bosses in ffxiv dungeons are also just wet noodles compared to trash pulls, so there's really no reason to ever not lb the trash if you have a phys ranged or caster
This. I do this all the time and I don't care if my teammates understand that nuking trash packs can be a time gain. I know it is, and that is good enough for me.
@@TheZorkas Agreed, lbing the boss doesn't have a profound impact on the difficulty or time to kill and who knows if the melee will even LB or if lb will be used late and have wasted damage. On the other hand LBing a pack always maximizes the use of the LB and does have a measurable impact on the dungeon clear.
Trash packs have inconsistent and sporadic nukes of damage. The bosses have preset patterns with predictable damage outputs. This is why you should ALWAYS LB trash packs.
As a new player, the novice network chat was an absolutely horrible experience. If you are there and find it useful that's great, but for me it was just like checking a box to have constant spam in your message box.
heavily depends on what world you're in. Ultros on Primal is very helpful, but still has its conversations, but then you go to balmung crystal and its just a massive shit show lol
Yeah, Maduin has been great, but Dynamis is small, so we just dont have a lot of assholes. Partly because we're small; they can't get the attention they want here
About the cosplay contest, it's likely they're using Mare Lamentorum, a plugin that shares people's modded appearance using a private server. Nowadays you're just kind of expected to have it in clubs and be in their server.
As a Mare enjoyer myself, it's still lame, I'd much rather see people use some creativity to make vanilla glams look as much like the character as possible.
@@bidoofthedestroyer566 I remember seeing someone who was like "HEY CHECK OUT MY LARA CROFT COSPLAY GLAM" and I click it and look and it's just a full modded outfit complete with the guns and everything and I'm just ??????????????

I once sat down on that Limsa bench in Zalera and I did get approached by someone who seemed to want to RP, but we just ended up talking about games and my new player experience (still a sprout). No clue the bench had so much associated drama 😂
I actually did a shout gig for the popoto artist a while ago when I wanted some quick gil on my new alt. She had me join a vc to prove that I'm not a troll, and gave me a rundown of the shout job; shout in the 3 starting cities in every server for 2 data centers, each shout cycle should be 20 mins apart to prevent "spamming". She also mentioned that she has alts watching to make sure I'm doing my job correctly. There were no thank you's (or I dont remember any words of appreciation afterwards), just a quick gil exchange, and she never contacted me again after that. Best of luck to her, I guess?
She doesnt contact people again, because she knows that most people who shout for her get blacklisted by alot of players. So she needs a new person to shout for her every time. And its really annoying. 80% of my blacklist are people that do advertise for her. At this point i would be more willing to pay them to f*** off and stop spamming.
Whenever I see people be super toxic/entitled in ffxiv i'm reminded of the tweet from @qtrcirclejab "the reason FFXIV twitter is so toxic is that the game let a bunch of antisocial, terminally unfunny ppl make Extremely Beautiful Characters through which they cultivated a false sense of Mean Girls energy, and they're now living the revenge fantasies they've had since high school"
@@CherryOperaThat is the unfortunate reality of modding become almost comically easy since... well either ShB or EW. So many people put less effort into making characters look good and instead just mash a bunch of things they like together creating just... horrid creations. This is why I nearly stopped modding altogether and the only thing i do use is a freckles mod because the ingame face paint is kindaaaaaa bad
"Go ahead and kick me then!" Me: "Okay!" *begins votekick* Them: surprised Pikachu face while getting kicked *Two minutes later* Replacement healer/tank arrives and we clear the remainder of the dungeon drama free. Don't be afraid to use votekick to take out trash people.
It's beneficial for the player oftentimes, because they don't have a penalty for getting back into queue. I have asked to be votekicked many times, if friends log on and want to play and the slot is easily fillable, if I'm not feeling great or had something come up. I've even gotten in arguments, gotten votekicked, and requeued into the same queue except it's further on in the dungeon / raid.
Finally somebody called out clubs for spamming their shit everywhere. New players shouldn't have to learn chat settings within their first 5s of being born because people are unabashedly advertising their generic, dime a dozen modded sex congregation.
When I was a sprout I learned chat settings to gtfo of the sprout network. I was a WoW refugee along with many others, but the sprout network was nothing but people trash talking the game I had just left. Club adverts I had no issues with. Gold spammers were and are the worst.
It now make sense why Yoshi p is now giving the ability to kick someone out from your house. No more harassing, just ban them from your house in DawnTrail.
funfact about ff14 housing. when it comes to partitions if you find a corner made of them and walk backwards into them you can clip into them and go through the player placed walls. player housing has lots of these spots including the clubs. have fun
You don't need to walk backwards. Lol You can find any spot that doesn't have you slip side to side and walk in that direction. This is to prevent a player's home from trapping you inside something.
You can just walk straight at housing item and clipping will turn off, if your coordiantes didn't change for a couple of seconds (based on my limited attempts/fun)
You may shit on it, but as a bed bound quadriplegic person, RP community helped me have the sense of a normal life, working a job at a night club or café, having a family and community. So yeah some of it can get ridiculous, but I am truly thankful for it.
Finally someone said it. Mfs will laugh about “chronically online” but like if your disability cucks you out of participating in society at large, internet hangouts is pretty much all you got
I don't think most folks are laughing at normal rp so much as the people who are absurdly over-modded and act like "cool guys" at the club. It's just kinda inherently goofy.
As someone that is heavily involved in the FF14 venue scene and the RP community, the section on night clubs was so cathartic. I know plenty of good, well intentioned people that work and run some of these clubs, but they so often invite narcissists and creeps and I just try to avoid them altogether. Bathhouse venues have also become a sore spot on the PF as of late for similar reasons as you can imagine, but that might just be a Primal thing.
Because I am a Lalafell and a bit of a troll, I went to a strip club looking for work because I thought it'd be funny to try to upstage and prank the other dancers. They made me the receptionist/secretary instead and I actually had a lot of fun roleplaying as basically Janine from Ghostbusters but slightly friendlier and gave people life advice, everyone always telling me how cute my geeky haircut and my big grandma glasses were. I became the single most popular staff member, to the point that I won a popularity poll as a write-in, which is coincidentally when I was "laid off" (the tips that "should" go to the dancers were going to me instead, mission failed successfully lmao). Not all Lalas are like... THAT, most of us are actually just memeing and are the chillest players you'll meet. I make it very plain and explicit to people my Lalafell is an adult and I don't do weird kiddy shit. I feel like a lot of the anti-Lala stuff is projection from the kinda weirdos who roleplay as NPCs in identical shitty clubs. Ironically I find that the more "normal" the race is the more likely the player is to be a weirdo: catboys and catgirls are usually the biggest weirdos followed by humans and lizards, just people who want to pretend to be... Influencers, I guess? Attractive and rich? Which yeah nah, none of that is in the spirit of RP. RP is about... CHARACTER, about PLAYING a character, so I'm glad to hear someone talk about how bizarre it is that the clubs are all the same. What is even the point. The food and drink menus are especially weird, I guess you can mod food items to be different? It doesn't matter, it's not roleplaying it's just... I don't even know what.
I also play Lala, and I’m new (I picked them because I thought they were super cute!) but I love trolling around with my lil guy. He is definitely an adult (I personally believe that he is 45 years old and a grouch) but I’ve seen people assume otherwise about my character, and I’ve seen people do some downright disgusting things with Lalas in places like Limsa. One of my first interactions with another player in the game was me trying to tell him to back off after he said he wanted to bang my Lala, all the while treating me like a child. It’s really gross. It’s a shame, because I’ve met so many wonderful people while playing this game, but also many disgusting folks as well. I just hope I don’t encounter any more, because that interaction still weighs on my mind because it was just out of line and nasty.
@@lucky_paopu it helps but people are just weird too, sorry that was your first encounter .w. it says a lot about people imo how they treat smaller things, people or no, adult or no
Nobody mods food items, with the exception of like one single club I've seen. Those food and drink menus are about 99% of the total creative writing on display at these venues, and even then it feels more like an excuse to sell massively overpriced drinks from like two expacs ago.
I'm only 20 minutes in, but hearing "stop shoving your ERP in everyone's faces" is a breath of air so fresh it feels like escaping a cave I've been trapped in for a month. I am very tired of the perpetually horny playerbase and it's just nice to hear someone else say it.
Seems highlander also gets left alone. Bounced between au ra. Roe. And viera. And the last time I got a DM was two years ago when I was a roe All the messages I get now are "cute glam" or "nice glam" or something along those lines
34:12 random anecdote; I was passing by my friends computer who was crafting in Limsa. I notice the chat box is FULL of someone counting down(?) from 1000. I ask how long they’d been doing that, the friend said she’d seen them try it a couple times and restart cause they messed up. We both smiled at it, wished them good luck, and I more or less forgot about it. Next day, said friend mentions that the person had gotten banned. Not because of that counting down, people were cheering them on and everyone congratulated them when they managed to do it. It was actually because afterward, they decided to countdown from 10,000 and, after everyone said not to because it was annoying as hell, they got banned for spamming. Then, when they got back, they complained about how people just hated them and it was targeted bullying and blah blah. There’s no real moral here, I’m just annoyed that what was an interesting past time for someone turned into a shit show because they decided to be annoying. Edit; This was Goblin, btw
I love being a mentor and helping people. I hate how jaded bad mentors make people and having to deal with hate just because of the mentor crown, whether I am bad or not. And so many people get upset when you try to help them, so you end up just being quiet unless they ask a question. :(
the fact that you didn't just buy into reddit hate towards popoto and criticize her for things she actually did earned you a good bit of respect from me
something that needs to be asked is how does popoto artist afford to pay her shouters when she never actually plays the game? seriously, do the math! lets say she has 2 (might have more) shouters for her 6-8 hour stream, she streams 3 times per week iirc, so 2 shouters x (lets go with the minimum) 6 hours x 3 streams x 300k gil = 10.8 mil/week x 4 weeks = 43.2 mil/month x 12 months = 518.4 mil/year she hands off to rando sprouts. somethings not right here. either she has people making money for her or she's buying gil. Edit- She has admitted to skipping the story to hit level cap, then not playing at all except to show her character in game while drawing
She pretty much garunteed RL trades. The only reason she uses FFXIV is because it's easier to convince people to advertise for 300k in-game per hour than .30/hr outside.
I've worked club where she's been auctioned and bought for upwards of 80 mil in one night. Even myself as a well off court and gposer have gone for a high of 24 mil but artists are a completely different tier
There was a time when people genuinely RPed in all venues. Like venues weren’t for AFK dancing, but characters to network and plan RP with new people. Then Covid hit and now all we have are these crappy clubs with people who just want ERP. Its about time this ended. When I RP in game its because I want to be a badass fighting monsters and using abilities I could never use in real life.
Genuinely the GMs need to ban these sorts of venues or at least ban the ad spamming. The housing plots have tags for a reason! They especially need to wipe out the ads in the PF so people can use it for actually useful things in the other tab.
Can we just make "razzler" the opposite of "rizzler" in the dictionary? You're completely on the nose with "man's experienced every pepper spray around"
As a Lala player, knowing people try to exclude me from several things or straight up ignore me for just being myself does make me sad, but after seeing how bad most clubs are cuz of this video, I'm no longer upset about that in particular! Thanks, Anchovy ☺️
As a lala player I get boop'd and headpat all the time by randoms and my guild mates, we don't need a nightclub, being cute little demons is all we need to be. That and well Tiny Tiny Healer BEEEEEEEG shield as sch is the best :)
I have seen these nightclub ERP people hold cow contests and post some remarkably weird things. The lala exclusion is entirely on them, to pretend with a thin veneer, that they are not absolutely batshit insane. You dodged many bullets, fren. The actual RP scene of writers interacts with lalas well for the most part and the few that don't are not worth your time.
So I've been on balmung since heavensward, and seeing the nightclub stuff suddenly gain traction was one of the most surreal things for me, being involved in the RP community for all that time.
I hate it so much. Call it elitism all you want, but these people going "I love RP!!!" when their RP is just their modbeast catgirl in the latest streetwear glam standing around in a modern nightclub playing Imagine Dragons. That's not RP, and you should be ashamed of yourself. The ideas were cool during the height of covid when they were a way for people to get the Club Vibe without having to risk exposure, but they grew way out of control.
I've been playing since 2.0 and watching it all happen is crazy to me. I used to be in the RP communities on Cactuar when that was a thing, but 2019 made things go out of control. The "RP" scene has been replaced with people using modded FF14 as a replacement for VR chat and it annoys me. It kills me to see shout chat and party finder filled with ads for these things.
this is sadly a symptom of the game becoming too big for its own good, i'm an oldgaurd player played since 1.0 days an beginning of ARR the general playerbase wasn't as bad back in the early days when ffxiv was still just a niche mmo people were chill and friendly and were always willing to lend a hand to a stranger in need, it did still have its darkside ofc (pedo rings, sexual harassment, stalking, extortion etc) but that stuff was kept behind close doors and in closed communities at the very least but sadly the toxic and nasty behaviors increased overtime an these days they've become so goddamn bold an dont even try to hide their sick an disgusting behaviors anymore. i used to joke with some friends about the merging of communities from the furries, the WoW migrants, and the Vtubers but now days.. sadly its no longer a joke an we inherited the worst of the worst from those groups unfortunately these days i barely even login anymore cause i am so damned repulsed and off put by what the game has become.
@@DeusGamez This has nothing to do with being too big. Not only is it not even the biggest MMO, but in terms of general multiplayer games its really small. Its just a game that attracts weebs and everything vile that comes with weebs

When i was a sprout... i tried using novice network to get help trying to understand where to find the npc to unlock glamour and hair- i was level 30 at the time. I got told by a mentor "play the fucking game and you'll get it" I had to ask the friend who got me into the game where it was.
Hi, tank player here I don't fully believe in YTYP but I do think there's times when it should be enforced. Namely: assholes who pull while people are watching cutscenes, Impatient dpses who pull mobs while someone is learning mechanics or being given advice, asshole healers who believe that they control the pace of the dungeon for everyone
Sargatanas Player here. Im lucky to have had mostly enjoyable experiences in DF, theres the occasional assholes but for the most part people i dungeon with are very down to earth and want to chill. I never forget this nice run i had with other 3 fem Au ra players (im a male Raen myself) in Aurum Vale, we wiped like twice but they were super patient and understanding as i was still figuring out my role as a healer. At the end of the run one of them pretty much pulled me aside and gave me pointers on general dungeon etiquette and strategies to heal better and make the most of my kit; then they all commendated me. That has stuck with me. Fast forward a few months and im already at Post-EW MSQ with almost all my healers up to 90. I believe that little gentle but stern nudges to help others get on the right track are the lifeblood of FF14's multiplayer interaction. I have made sure to give pointers and advice to any newer players who seem lost or ask for them since then, because i feel i have to share in on the kindness. We could all do with more of it
Clubs are fine. I personally don't go to them because my bf and I play FF14 and we'd feel uncomfortable as we see it mostly as people looking for ERP. But taverns, restaurants, cafes...we do love to visit them. We love the bard performances whenever there are some in these locations or even a BLU or DNC performance. The DJs just feel out of experience since its not actually in game.
As soon as you mentioned the bench in Odin, I knew EXACTLY who you were talking about. He tried to groom a friend of mine who was just getting into the game and I watched his harem grow slowly over time. So fucking weird.
I watched this whole thing, and stopped hyperventilating long enough to write this comment. It kind of demystifies our resident cryptid, but I'm glad to have found your channel. Your editing is top notch, and you appear to be a fellow Finn. My friend pointed out I was actually briefly featured in the video at 56:14. Truly this is my 15 minutes of fame. When you brought up Raz: I stood up in my seat and started ranting at my friend about him. I never went to check out Popotos stream, but know of them.
the only time i don't take aggro when i'm the tank is when someone pulls boss aggro while someone else is in Cutscene, otherwise i always take aggro right away. and even then i take the aggro back instantly when the other person is out of Cutscene. when i play tank i actually like it when a dps pulls extra mobs that i missed when it makes sense... makes everything go faster.
THIS!! I would get so pissed when I'm tanking a dungeon with a sprout and they're watching a cutscene when some impatient dingus rushes in and tries to pull the boss before they're done. Respect cutscene viewers people!
In a sea of global cynicism and despair, I'm truly happy that our club impressed you enough for you to mention it positively for a few seconds ♥ If you wish to hear classic house and hip hop, dig just a little deeper, Anchovy, we exist, we actually mix it live too.
This is such a good video that deserves a lot more views! Really funny and well put together, also thank you for keeping Limsa safe! It always brings a smile to my face every time I TP to Limsa and have my favorite fish standing there, watching over Limsa.
I used to be part of this scene. Even was a club owner briefly myself... I've got to say that the club scene is probably one of the most immature, high school ass, dramatic, toxic communities on the game. If you're thinking about joining that community, don't. I got out and my mental health has increased generously.
Holy crap I kid you not I got the Rei Ayanami right. But I was really guessing what is it the most unlikely to be from the looks but the most likely to be in the head of the player.
I may regret this because some of the people involved are still in the RP/nightclubs scene but here goes! Back when my friends and I were running a small cozy venue together there was a group trying to become the biggest nightclub/RP scene in Light, we decided to join their discord because they let other venues shout themselves out and we wanted more eyes on our venue. (Plus other venues we were familiar with at the time had also joined.) However soon it became obvious the vibe was not what we wanted, they started requiring a social contract of sorts (Full on PDF) to be signed if venues wanted to stay in their community. And we heard from others that they would push their own staff (mainly security) on other venues, no idea why but it wasn't what we wanted nor needed so we decided to leave. Oh and we also witnessed them rigging a glam contest in favor of one of their staff winning, the vote system had more votes than there was people in the venue itself and it just feels icky for your staff to win this kind of thing?! 🤨
Hey new player here I started around January 2024. My first interactions with the night club scene came through my FC. At that point I was around SB MSQ and I found the first visits really fascinating. It’s like a whole sub culture of the game. We have some DJs in our FC so whenever I had some downtime I started joining for their sets. At this point I would like to add that imo being part of an established community and having certain dark arts definitely helps the experience. People usually chat in private Alliance Partys as to not cludder up the say chat or chat through the DJs twitch chat. From what I can tell night party’s are a great way for people who have no content to do to still spend time in game with friends and I personally never felt that it takes something away from new players like myself it’s more like something else to do when you want a change of pace. There are also a lot of people who play the game only for those things so I’m not sure culling that scene would be in SEs best interest.
In the same way SE does not feel it's in their best interest to get rid of all the botters, since they collect money for every account and extra retainer somebody has.
this video paints clubs in a pretty grim light. ive always seen them as a marvel that they could even exist. didn't realize some people see them as a 'disease'
@@zoogle1 the main issue is the advertising spam drowning out actual community engagement (especially on the PF) and the ERP stuff (mostly because it’s a liability and enables creepy behavior).
I feel like as a Tank, it's fine if others can pull as long as they pull the mobs to you to round up. Also, the single best way to kill the mentor pretenders status is to change the crown icon into a full grown tree. It'd actually match the novice sapling icon too.
Personally I absolutely *love* when a DPS LBs the biggest baddest trash mob I can possibly pull in the dungeon. It's awesome. Idgaf about LB on the boss. edit: I honestly love how cynical and honest you are about the game's community, I have to agree with you and _commend_ you.
As a warrior I was doing a massive pull and the black mage did LB on the pack. It was the most beautiful thing I ever seen. Quickest dungeon run I done in a while too! People so caught up in doing the normal thing and not veering sometimes makes you forget that games are meant to be fun, mistakes and all and sometimes those mistakes end up being wonderful new tactical tech lol
I put up with FFXIV nightclubs around various holidays for one thing: glamour contests. That often means having to sit at a venue for multiple hours, in some cases even participating in a twitch DJ stream, (usually they go a lot smoother than yours did...) but if I end the night a few million gil richer just from playing dress-up... heck, it was worth it. You definitely see a lot of strange characters along the way. Even though the club "layouts" are largely the same, there's a lot of creativity in the furniture placement that I also like to get inspo from.
This seems like a pretty accurate reproduction of real life night clubs (afking while dancing mindlessly and not talking to people, terrible music, there's a catgirl)
THANK YOU for calling the nightclub scene what it is ERP, I have seen so many people try to pretend that is not what it is and act all hurt when they get criticized for blasting it all over chat. Reminds me of when people would read Fifty Shades on the train and on air planes and what not then get angry online when they got side eye from fellow passengers, no one cares what you do with your private time in private but when you bring it out to the public in public you will be judged. Especially if you try to get other people involved.
friend of mine sent me this. used to be a worker for that streamer at 4:47's club(I was getting paid like 450k gil a week for just having the game open in an alt tab on saturdays and vaguely correcting some minor behaviors, so sue me) Aemilia Satella, owner of Eluded Ecstasy. Things seemed to be fine, with us being a primarily FC owned venue... then all of the mods for the FC discord left after they realized she was a horrible person. and then we all went with her. Those of us who left truly are thriving as a normal, sane FC now. and just to get it off my chest, Aem is very much not a good person. For over a year, she was gaslighting me on why some certain people left the FC... particularly people who were influential to my growth in the game and as a person.
The worst thing about all of the nightclub and ERP shit is that everyone generally just thinks it's normal? It's insane that you log on to ffxiv and just see brothel advertisements in the party finder but if you call it out everyone just calls you a prude or a puritan. I don't get it.
As a lalafell RPer, I can safely say that (at least on NA servers), the folks who play lalafell as actual children are few and far between and are actively shunned by the rest of us. Doesn't stop most venues from discriminating against us, though.
@@Dai_Tallsian For sure! More of a reason i try to find SFW clubs cus those that allow ERP is just pestering with weirdos, even if they allow lalafells into those clubs (but dont allow them to ERP, wich yeah fair) i still get whispers of these weirdos wanting to do stuff like get away!!!
The reason for that is that people who think a certain way can't imagine anyone else is any different. I'll let you follow that statement to its logical conclusion.
As a Light DC bench/erp/nightclub FC survivor, as i was invited to one of those as a sprout who didn’t know any better, I appreciate this video. It sums up pretty much all my thoughts as to why I avoid anyone who takes rp/the game in general waaay too seriously :’)
So, funny story about Popoto Artist. I joined one of her streams, entered a lottery because "Lmao why not." and ended up winning an artpiece. What I got looked nothing like my character that I submitted a screenshot of. I played a Miqo with a cat-eyes mod for more defined catlike pupils, and more pronounced fangs. Absolute degenerate, I know, much illegal very banned. I got a vanilla miqo'te that looked almost nothing like my actual character. She isn't even a *good* artist. FWIW, I don't have the portrait anymore, so. No backup here. But I'm inclined to believe people based on my personal experience.
it's "this is a world you can truly get lost in" or "this is a world in which you can truly get lost", not "this is a world in which you can truly get lost in". like, i'm just 30s in, it's the second sentence
Okay this video is amazing. Not just the stories but just the scenes, cinematography and creativity. Love how visual the storytelling is lol this is one of the best FF14 videos I've watched in a very long time. 50 minutes of some of the best trope storytelling ever....!!! I relate to all these stories, you're so fucking on point with everything, gotta love it.
Sigh... the Dungeon one.... Yesterday, had a tank who did well. I was RDM. Close after the second boss fight, they did a huge pull and we had a LB ready, so I popped it to quickly get rid of the mobs (healer was also struggling a bit, but the tank still had their invul so normally they should've survived, but I popped it just for the sake of quickly getting rid of the mobs). At the last boss, tank asks "Hey where did our LB go to?" I'm saying I popped it two pulls ago at that huge pull... and the tank proceeded to try and convince me to NEVER EVER AGAIN pop a caster LB on trash pull and to "always save it for the boss".... ????????????? My brother in Hydaelyn, I main NIN, do you really think a phys LB 1 makes the difference on a boss?
I feel that hard on the dungeon dweebs. It got so bad that when I was leveling my preferred class on whm, I picked up the horribly complicated gnb and went into dungeons confessing my love to the party and that I'd tank everything they pulled. I would do everything in my power to protect the party, as that's the tanks JOB.
As someone who's been in the venue scene for a few years and seen how vile it truly is, I genuinely wish they stop existing. The people who run it are corrupt people, the people who work there are two-faced and will screw each other to get ahead and the players who go there are typically manipulators or scammers. I genuinely hate them and I regret NOTHING quitting years ago. Addon: The spam is also really vile. I report every one of them I see and block the players now, espeically with the new blacklsit feature and I love how much quieter it's become now that their alts are all dead and gone, too. Addon 2 (electric boogaloo): My final moment was working for a place called Relic. One of the management guys was flirting with staff and being a creep, so the rest of us banned him from the discord. The owner (who was dating him) got super pissed and at 3am when we all were asleep, she banned her whole management, myself included, and then lied saying we all agreed to leave quietly so she could have him back. When I exposed her for that lie, the whole venue imploded and he was outted as a creep. But a few months later everyone forgot and the venue went back up like nothing happened. The amount of shadey shit from someone I used to consider a friend, I vowed to never touch a venue again, and refused to speak to anyone who worked at them. It really is just high school drama and creepos. I know people want to work there for "money" but honestly? Go craft. Go get an FC and make subs to get money. Genuinely, ANYTHING ELSE will make you more money than ERPing with a creep. You wanna erp? Make friends. Genuine friends, they'll have far better rp to offer and your time won't be wasted.
The fact that I am sat here at 4am watching a fish interview a dude who thinks he is a nightclub owner in a game in a fake house must just make our ape ancestors wonder what they ever evolved for.
As an immersive RPer in FFXIV, thank you for calling out the nightclubs. I've had some people suggest I take my "I'm going to get a warm meal after a long day adventuring" character to Second Life Mk.2 Electric Boogaloo. No. Heck no. The way I often put it is " is not going to know what an iPhone is, so why are they acting like they have one? No. Thank. You. (PS: I also hate eRP with a burning passion, let me just play my character without having to think about below the belt, thank you.)
Unfortunately no. I went to a nightclub in Crystal and they were there as part of the venue's attractions for like an hour or 2. Like the nightclubs will actually pay her to be there and make complimentary portraits to whoever asks.
@@pacomcjorge that's insane lmaooo wtf? cant blame them for chasing a bag, but if i went to a club and saw them i'd immediately turn around and go home. cant be good for business
I had a few premate parties I was put together as Tank, and it usually isn't a great experience, three times it ended in some drama because the DPS stopped playing, then the healer stopped healing me.
What is most bizzare to me that I heard a lot about ERP and other "adult content" in FF14 way before I started to play the game. So if you are a newcomer who checking for a new "critically acclaimed MMORPG" to play you almost definetely will be stumbling on this stuff. In fact this was one of the reason that I started to play as Lalafell. Now 400+ hours in and I must say that "potato deterrent" works amazing - not a single creep hits on me, only headpats and lalaparades.
I've been playing a lala since 2013 and I 100% agree. People don't understand that being a lala you're either a creep or trying to get away from said creeps. I don't use mods I just enjoy the race!
I also heard that but yet to encounter it, I play a very cute (atleast i hope so) FemRa and literally never got any weird tells or comments or emotes, or anything really, I even sit next a guy when duty finding/afking in limsa since i always see him at the same bench around the same time, never messaged me, never messaged him, just a greet, sit, goodbye
My favorite night club experience was going to some beautiful venue only to learn that in a one off room, there was a cult being made. Apparently the RP situation was that some tin foiled lunatic thought there was a secret race of people controlling the world as we knew it at that we would soon convert the rest of the unknowing patrons to the cult. It was actually a lot of fun.
I remember having a personal project where I would take candid photos of all kinds of venues. Ranged from cafes to clubs and even “headquarters” of rp groups that were open to the public. Despite drama and controversies, I walked away from it with a deep appreciation that ff14 was even capable of creating immersive experiences like this.
From a Roe to a Namazu, what a bloody brilliant exposé on FFXIV culture! Miss ya over on Phoenix but I'm glad to hear you're thriving and having a blast over on Odin! :D
I don't care what anyone says, but after dealing with it for the better part of 2 years I'll just say that the NA modding/clubbing/rp scene spawns some of the absolute worst people in the world. Very few redeemable characters, especially club owners. They do some pretty scummy shit. And limsa is where all the people who did not graduate high school mentally congregate. If you're a new player seeing this, do yourself a favor and keep your distance. Nothing good will come from dabbling here. This vrchat eboy egirl culture is so lame.
“The two owners got married in game and they both thought the other person was a girl, but they were both guys.” It’s a tale as old as time!
If you are gullible enough to believe that some female characters are actually female then you deserve what you get. There are loads of guys who have female characters and hide the fact I'm all games since forever.
It's not just nightclubs. I can recall at least 6 "FC" or "Guilds" that imploded over the last 10 years of me playing on and off that his happened to!
Living in a generation where everyone wants to be a full-time online entertainer is such a nightmare.

Sitting in a nice room while listening to my in game music collection is a great way to pass the time
So if a nicer room shows up and I can listen to my music in there I'd shell out some gil I just got in a dungeons and chill out
I was tanking a dungeon once, where both DPS was obviously new, while I and the healer obviously had experience.
@kiriuxeosa8716 your part of the fucking problem you fucking man child
Some dungeons, and raids reset the LB so it's better to just use the aoe lbs to just clear out the trash while u have access too it
@@TheZorkas Agreed, lbing the boss doesn't have a profound impact on the difficulty or time to kill and who knows if the melee will even LB or if lb will be used late and have wasted damage.

It's just kinda inherently goofy.
my favourite raz moment is when he had an argument with someone in shout chat for like 4 hours straight

Yeah, I changed to Lala when I realized that people will leave you alone with the club stuff if you are a Lala. Works for me
Seems highlander also gets left alone. Bounced between au ra. Roe. And viera. And the last time I got a DM was two years ago when I was a roe
All the messages I get now are "cute glam" or "nice glam" or something along those lines
They sadly dont. I'm getting those weird mod share codes send as a whisper all the damn time....
34:12 random anecdote;
I was passing by my friends computer who was crafting in Limsa.
This sounds like a Monty Python sketch 😂😂😂😂

"The lalafells themselves want to be treated as children" To err is human, to forgive divine. And I am no God.

As a Lala player, knowing people try to exclude me from several things or straight up ignore me for just being myself does make me sad, but after seeing how bad most clubs are cuz of this video, I'm no longer upset about that in particular! Thanks, Anchovy ☺️

Fellow lala here, don’t feel ashamed on what race you are! :D

Being a Lalafell is like cryptonite to these people. You NEVER get random degenerates whispering you about how hot your character is.
youll get less weirdos but you might also get a higher tier of weirdos

Roasties muck things up
I hate it so much.
@@Raiden777ify its literally just parasocial relationships for lonely porn addicted gooners
FFXIV attracts particularly...special types of people for some reason.
I've gotten rather sick of the broader community both in and out of the game.
this is sadly a symptom of the game becoming too big for its own good,
i'm an oldgaurd player played since 1.0 days an beginning of ARR the general playerbase wasn't as bad back in the early days when ffxiv was still just a niche mmo
people were chill and friendly and were always willing to lend a hand to a stranger in need, it did still have its darkside ofc (pedo rings, sexual harassment, stalking, extortion etc) but that stuff was kept behind close doors and in closed communities at the very least but sadly the toxic and nasty behaviors increased overtime an these days they've become so goddamn bold an dont even try to hide their sick an disgusting behaviors anymore.
i used to joke with some friends about the merging of communities from the furries, the WoW migrants, and the Vtubers but now days.. sadly its no longer a joke an we inherited the worst of the worst from those groups unfortunately
these days i barely even login anymore cause i am so damned repulsed and off put by what the game has become.
Would be dope if this was an actual mmorpg
@@DeusGamez This has nothing to do with being too big. Not only is it not even the biggest MMO, but in terms of general multiplayer games its really small. Its just a game that attracts weebs and everything vile that comes with weebs
@@lunaticmode638 you must not have read my full comment but i stated that ffxiv inherited all the worse people from vtubing(which sure call it weeb or whatever you like same diff) furries, and WoW andy's
its not strictly just "weebs" as you call them but its a combination of several communities blended together call it the culture shock phenomenon where several groups get crowded into a room but none of them can get along or come to agreements without compromise and also my dude Final Fantasy is a JRPG (Japanese Role-playing Game) if you consider games made by the japanese as Weeb then i'm afraid this game is just not for you period. like sure it romanticizes elements of fantasy and old world culture but it also has things like sci fi elements as well and thats because typically thats what japanese game developers love is blending sci fi with classical fantasy.
I forget how exactly the quote went. But when I was still part of twitter one of the few good people I met on the XIV circles said something along the lines of "XIV let's people experience being a mean girl because they can make a conventionally attractive anime girl"

Hi, tank player here
I don't fully believe in YTYP but I do think there's times when it should be enforced.
Namely: assholes who pull while people are watching cutscenes,
Impatient dpses who pull mobs while someone is learning mechanics or being given advice, asshole healers who believe that they control the pace of the dungeon for everyone
15:07 was this fashion show with mods? maybe thats what we arent seeing?
We could all do with more of it
Aether tends to be the “people who play the game” Data Center in my experience. I go there for dailies regularly.

The secret is, you should take aggro anyways. And then pull the boss out of the boss room.
This resets the boss and forces them to wait.
There is exactly one scenario in which saving the lb for a boss makes more sense and that is if you somehow only have melee dps in the party
This was probably one of the most entertaining videos i have watched in a loong time.

@zoogle1 everything he said is true
@@zoogle1 the main issue is the advertising spam drowning out actual community engagement (especially on the PF) and the ERP stuff (mostly because it’s a liability and enables creepy behavior).

I gotta admit, seeing you go into the websites you've shown feels like looking at what FFXIV's version of Deep Web looks like lol

Aemilia Satella, owner of Eluded Ecstasy.

I got so suprised alot of clubs just dont like lalafells, i just want to afk dance sheesh!!!! :D
@Maukunen honestly, I see a LOT more Miqo'te, Au Ra, and Midlanders trying to rp as kids than I do Lalafell. And yet the short folks get the bad rep.

God I wish she didn't spam to promote her streams. It just makes her unlikable and annoying.

Sigh... the Dungeon one....
At the last boss, tank asks "Hey where did our LB go to?"
I'm saying I popped it two pulls ago at that huge pull... and the tank proceeded to try and convince me to NEVER EVER AGAIN pop a caster LB on trash pull and to "always save it for the boss".... ????????????? My brother in Hydaelyn, I main NIN, do you really think a phys LB 1 makes the difference on a boss?
As a tank or healer I LOVE it when a caster LBs the biggest pull in the dungeon.
As a caster I LOVE LBing the biggest pull in the dungeon.
This video is a true masterpiece!! I need more journalism pls LMAOO
Only reason i use lb on boss is because i always forget about it until near the end of the dungeon
Oh and there a was fight club night club too! That was so so packed and it was like watching an RP WWE event you could gamble on. Ah, such memories!
