    Great little drone and very pleased that I bought this drone recently but would you still buy this drone in 2023? Many thanks for watching :)

    I never owned this drone, but I remember when it came out. I did own the Mavic Air 2, and that was a very good drone as well. I’m glad you were able to pick this drone at a fair price, and that it still flies very well for you. Great video Shaun, and thanks for sharing.

    Hi There! Just like your Mavic Air mine was also purchased in 2018. The thing is, I left it inside the drone bag for almost 2 years during pandemic. In March this year, I checked the three (3) batteries but unfortunately, two (2) of them were not working as they should be.
    I tested my drone by charging the batteries "fully charged" but when I flew the drone, it gave a warning just after a little over 5 or 7 minutes of flying. The controller audio said that the battery is low. Worst was, the battery just got totally depleted when the drone was still about 10 or 15 feet high from the ground. You guessed it right, my Mavic Air slammed to the ground. Good it was not broken into pieces.
    I ordered three DJI intelligent batteries and I am still waiting for its shipment and arrival at my residence.
    I look forward for more of your MAVIC AIR Version 1 videos as it helps me re-learn my own drone. As a recently retired government employee, I will now have time to fly my drone.
    By the way, your videos are great and I look forward for more of these. Hope we could exchange ideas about our DJI drone model in the future. I also subscribed to your channel.

      Thank you Grandpa, good to hear another Mavic Air flyer, amazing little drone - it's up there with the Mini 3 Pro as with this drone you can fly without your controller, video coming soon. Sorry to hear about your crash and hopefully with your new batteries, you will soon be flying again. Many thanks for watching and always happy to reply :)

    I bought one second hand about 2 years ago. It's still a great drone with good features. The downside is the weight, WiFi, and battery life compared to current drones. But it has 4k which my mini 2se does not. If you are new to drones, I would start with the mavic air.

    • @shaunthedrone
      @shaunthedrone  Год назад

      Thank you Andrew, have to agree with you on the weight and wi-fi but still good for it's age. I still use my Mavic Air 2 drone as my all weather drone when out on far away trips. Many thanks for watching :)

    • @MarmotStarpax
      @MarmotStarpax 4 месяца назад

      i wouldn't consider the weight as a downside, since it would let you handle wind far better than the smaller drones. washed-out images, unimpressive wifi range, noisy and you need 3 sets of cables to run this thing (usb-c to connect the drone, micro usb to connect the controller and its own charging station) unlike the newer drones that let you do everything with usb-c

  • @palmservices
    @palmservices 11 месяцев назад +2

    Still a very good drone. Still have mine, from new. Handles the wind extremely well. Good camera.
    The only issues I ever had was the famous stick problems on the controller.
    WI-FI single can vary, but you can do the FCC mode hack, that enables a stronger signal.

    Its still a great drone. yes, DJI still supports this drone. I turned mine on today and did an update. still a great flyer. it has the bypass, that is currently on the newer drones. It was ahead of its time, my opinion.

    Buying a second one for $200 with the fly more combo tomorrow. My first one was in my truck when I rolled it and the tow truck driver must have for it along with a bunch of my tools. The first one I got the batteries were all bad so I had to spend $100 more For a battery. This guy says all 3 are fine with this one. I spend hours trying to recover those other batteries but I couldn’t find anyone to send me the download for the program to do the rest.

      Hi Tommy, I'm not sure if DJI still supports this drone, they should be and if so, might be worth sending a message to DJI Support, asking for their help. If not there must be a support group out there for Mavic Air (like Facebook) Wish you luck to fix this problem.

    Still have this one, great drone, the problem the i have, is that all the batterys Puff …. sooner or later, average 35 cycles charges …. I had 8 batt and all of them puff. I belive the drone body / board , transfer to much heat to the battery itself, if you add that i live in a very hot area …. it makes it imposible to fly it at noon …. when i land the drone the batt is so hot …. and yes, the board/chip fan works. If you add that its kind of hard to find this batt and if you do, they go for 100 Uss or more …..
    Its the only reason i will upgrade it when all my batt are gone ….
    If it wasnt for that, its still great for the needs the i have.

      Many thanks for your comment, not noticed it myself. I've only got one battery and it's been good, living in Spain can get very hot, sometimes in the 40's. I would imaging getting extra batteries being a problem. Many thanks for watching :)

    I was under the impression that for those in the United States that a separate remote ID module would be required for this model. Does it now natively support remote ID?

      Good question and one I'm not sure about, other than we have been giving grace for a few more years yet to fly but make sure you have your A1 - A3 licence to fly a heavier drone. Many thanks for watching.

      I am upset because after 5 years of flying this was my first real unintentional crash. It completely obliterated itself after the fall and went into 1000 different pieces. I’m going to have it replaced but I also want to look at something besides the air on the fpv side as that seems to be more of my type of flying 😅

    DJI Mavic Air is still the best drone in 2023. It has hand gestures control. Even other new brand selfie Drone like Hover X1 no match to DJI Mavic Air. I don't know why DJI stop producing Hand Gestures Control Drones.

      Thank you and have to agree, why did DJI stop using that. I did a video on their gesture control, far better than the Spark. Many thanks for watching.
