    If you want to stretch your hamstrings, or should I say be able to have more reach, use a tennis ball on your feet first. Use it to stretch the fascia in your feet for about 10 seconds a spot. I just discovered this about a month ago. After then stretch your hamstrings. It is more effective.

    So important. Everyday I stretch my hamstrings, gastrocnemius and soleus muscle groups. They've been so tight for years. For the hamstrings I use a road bike inner tube and hold one end in each hand and stretch like Bob illustrated. Use stairs for the gastrocnemius and soleus. It makes walking and going up/down steps much easier. Thanks guys.

    I'm trying to extend my range of motion I my legs. At present I can raise a straight leg up to 90 degrees using a strap but want to bring it closer to my chest. I like the stretch relax approach but haven't tried it yet. I will and hope to see the results.

    I have had RLS fur decades and initially overstretched my physio told me not to stretch my calf muscles at all cos of this. However lately a medication change has made my muscles spasm v badly n they now go like rock n wake me up ev 2 hours thru the night. Because I am so bendy sometimes I can do excercising but can't find a position that actually stretches the calf muscles at all. Do u have any suggestions I cud try ? i do sprsy magnesium on them which helps a little. I love doing the exercises you demonstrate. Really helpful!!

    I feel like this one was made specifically for me. The massage gun information was really good. I have one but it's hard to tell when/how to best use it. When I have really tight muscles, the vibration really loosens the muscle up in a noticeable way. It's like a guitar string vibrating. I'm really worried about using it on my neck or near my spine though. I'm also worried about the vibration and giving myself a concussion or something any time my head is vibrating.

    • @seanyok

      You should never use a massage gun around head or neck

    I cannot extend my leg like u can... whenever I try their is lot of pain behind my legs nd my back too...nd main legs are shaking ...please help me...what's the matter...is they are due to tight hamstring or due to my low back pain?

    • @misterandylink
      @misterandylink 4 года назад

      The same thing happened to me when my pain was at it's worse. The massaging and heat help a lot so that it's not painful when you do the stretch. I cheat and bend my knee and push my foot out until I feel the stretch. It makes it way less intense when you have like a herniated disc like I have.

    Hey B and b. I got tight hamstrings aswell and since stretching didnt help i thought the problem with the weqk gluteus muscle and tight hip flexors seemed very fitting in my situation. 2 months of working my abs stretching my hip flexors and training my gluteus later: my hamstrings are still tight and my backpain is stronger than ever. You got any ideas for me? Let me know

  • @camez2345

    No, you're not babbling, Brad -- it's really true about the breathing! That's what yin style yoga is like, you hold poses for a long time and the breathing relaxes your body and everything just keeps releasing on its own, no force required. The first time I tried it, I was shocked at how flexible my body became just from my relaxing through deep breathing. It's like everything just melted.
