- The tomatoes and peppers are in and we are good to go!
Because we garden to make use of every bit of space, we have to flip the greenhouse around a couple of times a year to accommodate what we are growing.
Today we flip it to get the tomato plants and pepper plants in their final homes, the quadgrow pots self watering planters.

Anyone else have the Tetris theme music playing in their heads as she was rearranging all the pots in the box o' pots? No? Just me? Okay... 😉
😂😂😂😂😂 it wasn’t just you
Soooo many of you thought tetris
Fab video Eli, it's always exciting when you swap the greenhouse into summer mode isn't it, if nothing else you know everything in there is staying put so less work, more enjoyment of the garden. Thanks for the plug at the end, muchly appreciated and sorry you had to leave your beer. Take care 😊
Yeah you owe me a beer woman! 😂😂😂
@@eliandkate I owe you more than one 🍺🍺🍺
Envy your beautiful greenhouse but what I envy more is the fact you can bend your knees with such ease!!! Lol
!!!!! Lol x
ha ha ha remember, you only see the take that makes it to video, you don't see all the rest :D
That's an incredible amount of organization and effort but you make it look easy. Fantastic reformation!
Easy…. Its all in the edit 😂😂😂
Love a good clear out and tidying up of pots after planting out! It's a bit of a release too knowing most of it it out and ready to go. Loved watching collab with Bethan. Those window films are great for filtering out strong light or giving privacy.
I wonder if anyone has used quadrows to grow sweetcorn in a grid?
Will the staging tables not fit behind the greenhouse or shed? I do love the secret storage area behind the shed.
We have two parallel back fences that the previous owners installed and filled fence high with bagged garden and household waste that we had to clear out into a skip! We couldn't use the compost as the bags had degraded and there were also a ton of those little morphine bottles and other medicine in there, as well as bike parts. We even found a mummified rat that we named Roger, bless him!
The space also had trees in there but 3 were dead and came out. We now store a mini shed and BBQ until we can think of what to do with the space. We did line the area with pallets and put down some spare roofing fabric so we could put a secret Wendy house in there. Our child is a bit too old for that now, plus now the pallets are deteriorating. The total area is about 7m wide x 3m deep. It has a dying conifer tree and a very tall lilac tree/ bush that needs a big trim. Not sure what to do with the area still. We need height of the trees for privacy of the commercial land at the back. I was thinking maybe a natural growing willow fence along the back and take out the dying tree? How big is your shed please? Would be nice to have an unit there of some sort but need to think of costs.
We have a weird shaped garden as our out door loo and workshop is connected by long conservatory windows and a flat roof, so it leaves us with what was a triangle shape that we are straighten out by moving the shingle area in but squaring it off to grow veg in, remove the old hilled landscaped area, flatten and create borders so we have a lawn. It has/ is taking some time as we work to the pace of our budget.
Anyway, take care!
Wow that was a bit of an unexpected find for sorting your garden… just wow!
Too exciting.....got to have a sit down now!!!
🤣 have you recovered now?
@@eliandkate Hahaha!!!
I wish I was half as organised!!!!!!! 😭
Awwwww I’m sure you are for your own things
I cannot wait to get my first greenhouse. I have got to wait for my 50th birthday next summer..... As ever, you are giving me lots of hints. Thanks
Oh you won’t regret it! They are game changers
I love my new greenhouse. You will have a great time with it.
Thank you
Fab update Eli ❤
Isn't it great when you can bring a table outdoors and garden or have a tudy up. Ive just removed our trestle table from the polytunnel to prepare for tomatos. Its surprising how time consuming a tidy up can be isnt it.
We also had a big bix for storing pots but its now outside gathering water. Nice to be tidy so you can find everything 👍
Nothing beats a good garden tidy in the sun
Fun video as always. You two must have been knackered after all that.
Majorly knackered, in that heat too
I always call it the greenhouse shuffle! It's so satisfying when you sort it all out isn't it? Then you need to sit in the sun and have a glass of something nice!
it's the absolute best... makes everything feel so positive!!!!!
Hi Eli id never heard of quadgrows but had a look and ordered them I’m excited as hopefully we now can get away without ask the kids to water my peppers which I think they do the day before we are due home 🤣 u are both so well organised gardeners I’ve learned a lot from you this is my first year with peppers fingers crossed x
Oh Fiona that’s so exciting!!!
You won’t regret it
@@eliandkate I order everything Eli mentions. 😂😂😂😂 I cant find a Kate online though.
@Bob-bo8ik she was a limited edition 😂😂😁😁
@@eliandkate Indeed
You know what this reminds me of-It’s MUCH harder to clean a small house than a large one! I know.
Glass can be harsh and I do like the polycarbonate panels even though they need replaced when they cloud, but they last a good while.
Off to deal with my mess 😅.
First day of 90+ weather here turn my compost pile watered some plants. Everything looks a little droopy with the heat but young plants that to be expected to rain tonight and tomorrow so things will pick back up. Butterfly bush slowly improving.
Wooohoooooo
Mr green fingers!!!!
Very productive afternoon there - can't beat a nice cold drink after a session in the garden - I love Rosé cider 🥂 I've done the pot shuffle putting them away many times 😆🌿
Kate had a wee rose cider later
Called it pink juice 😂😂😂
I love the shading for the greenhouse and the privacy film on the glass looks great
Just a bit neater than the white paint 😁
Very impressed by the number of pots you got in the storage box. I need to sort mine out.
I wish I could get more in there 😂😂😂😂
You're very well prepped, great stuff! All this lovely weather came to an abrupt end this morning here in Ireland with 13C, overcast skies and mad gusts of wind. Bloody heck, May can't make up it's mind...
...well I hope you've still got the amazing weather anyway. Lovely video once again, love it!
Yeah we’re the same… a weeks worth of rain yesterday afternoon and howling winds through the night
@@eliandkate Argh it's frustrating!
What a gorgeous sunny day, great to see.
It was fabulous…. Hopefully we’ll get another one 😂😂😂
I really enjoyed this video. Pot storage looked like gardener’s Tetris. Well executed!
I’ve seen Bethan’s video today too, lovely collab between you. I’m liking the look of the quad grows more and more now.
Cooper tape on yours for slug deterrent? Nice touch.
Love seeing the greenhouse flip around for summer. Such an exciting time!
Also loving the idea of the glass film for shading! Neatest way of doing it yet! Might have to look into that!
It so is Tetris!
Yeah the copper tape made a huge difference for me. The first year I used these was absolute slugmaggedon
@@eliandkate good to know it works. 🥰
🐝thanks for the great video🌻 woopwoop pottietime
Great video my friend! I’m doing the same thing right now. 108f in the GH. Hot hot hot. So much to sort out and so little time. ❤
Woah
That’s super hot! Nowhere near that here
Brilliant video, as always Eli and Kate. Dunno about you atm, but it's torrential rain and wind here in north wales after a lovely warm weekend. Hey ho to a typical British spring/ summer 😂
Yup torrential
Im really enjoying your Channel as I’ve treated myself to a Gabriel Ash greenhouse which is coming at the end of June !!
Oh exciting times.
A new greenhouse is always fun 🤩
You need more pots 😁
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thought that opening picture was from TITANIC !
Kate said that!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Piles of empty pots after repotting, repotting and potting on. Yep, have a few stacks myself. 🙄
This has been one of the slowest springs for quite a while, everything is stalled.
Hopefully you'll get some decent weather, good temperatures and I can growl and complain where you can't hear.
Peppers? Maybe get one by the middle of September. 😆
Ah well, slugs are scarce this year, probably starved out of the garden. 😆🇨🇦
😂😂 oh I’ll hear you! You can’t hide from me
I live on the Pacific coast, my volume doesn't get to Scotland, literally on the other side of the planet, unless you're building a tunnel through the world????
😛 I know you're ambitious, but don't think you're THAT ambitious.
😊😉
😂😂😂 I have my secret ways
New vent openers came today. They look poor quality compared to the ones that came with the greenhouse. I will fit them tomorrow and see how they work.
Wow. Work perfectly Open at 26, close at 25. Going to order two for the other side.
@Bob-bo8ik oh fabulous
When can you come do mine?😂
yeah right
@@eliandkate it was worth the punt 🤣😂🤣
Usual mistake today. I will run power to the green house in a coulple of hours. 10 hours later just made it before I collapsed. I still think I am 20.
Ha ha ha yup
I’m currently on the couch aching cause I spent the day kneeling and bending
@@eliandkate If you did not use knee pads I will be very angry.
@Bob-bo8ik we have an amazing kneeling pad one of the other Patreons gave us.
It’s for plumbers but it’s astounding
@@eliandkate I have never seen you using it.
@Bob-bo8ik it’s usually behind something in shot by the time I’m ready to film.
There’s A LOT goes on before the record button gets hit 😜
The only time I can grow tomatoes in my greenhouse is in the fall and early winter here in mid-MO, USA. IT reaches 120F in my greenhouse during the summer months. That's just too hot to grow anything.
It’s amazing how different all our climates are.
In Scotland we struggle to get enough days that are hot enough for a lot of those types of crops 😁
Eli, How wide is your wooden staging please? Thank you.
it'll be whatever one they sell, sorry, I don't remember the details but its the company I always talk about and they are linked int he description
Hi, quite new to this channel. Looks like you have wrapped the quad grows with copper tape to keep slugs and snails away?
Yup
Back when I fist started using these, my old greenhouse has lots of slugs. At the end of the year when I opened up the old style quadgrows to clean up they were absolutely covered with slugs and slug eggs on the inside.
So since then I make sure to add copper tape to help deter them.
Not had that issue again …. 8 years
Please can you tell me what stick on film you use for shading. Thank you 😊
it's just privacy film - I got it in the local craft store
Watching from the US, northeast. Are you able to grow tomatoes and peppers outside, or are you forced to grow them in the greenhouse based on cold?
With a lot of planning around varieties etc I was able to grow outdoors last year. Unfortunately as well as the short season we have a huge problem with blight, as our climate is very wet (over 90% humidity for 10 months of the year) so although I had successful plants and lots of fruit, I lost a lot to blight.
Peppers however, I’m going to try it this year for fun but I genuinely think it will be a wasted effort. I don’t think the season is long enough to allow the peppers to ripen.
For these warmer crops (tomatoes, peppers, aubergine, cucumber etc) we generally use a greenhouse in Scotland just to give us a better chance.
I have the same problem with scorching what exactly did you put on the glass as I've been looking to do that, love watching you both great videos ❤xx
It’s just the privacy film you can buy from craft shops, it’s not greenhouse specific.
You can buy shade cloth and paint that you use on the greenhouse if you want something specific for the purpose
Fantastic video ... I did just this at the weekend ... cleared out & tidied my Greenhouse up ....
I was so excited to get my Quad grows out too as it's my 1st year of using them 😊
Great idea using that cling film stuff ....where did you purchase it from please ? 🌻🌻🐝🐝🍄🍄🌷🌷
I think we just got it in the local craft shop
Such a good idea ....
I've bought blinds for the roof this year ....coz my peppers did suffer badly last year .... but the cling film frosted stuff would be a bonus too .....
Mind you ....we had boiling hot weather last weekend but now it's cold again down here in Derby
@carolinebown8686 yup hammering down with rain here 😂😂😂
Awe, man, you should have went in one door, cut, and come out the other!🤣
Oh we’re confused now, one door?
@@eliandkate you have two doors behind shed?
@jollyroger5646 😂😂😂 would have been cool but the problem was that it’s blocked
Need to remember that for another time
@eliandkate I meant go in one side and edit the footage showing you coming out other door. Sorry for being confusing. I get that way sometimes! 🤣
@jollyroger5646 it’s defo a brill idea… I just wasn’t quick enough to think of that at the time 😂😂
Fab vlog Eli ❤
I was in my local garden centre the other day with my partner I started chatting about you and your advice. He looked really confused and said who's Eli? I replied oh that's mother earth from RUclips 😂❤❤
😂😂😂😂😂😂
hi eli tge quad grows now can be separated they sale blanking fittings so you don’t have to join them i wonder if you did you could fit one more quad grow in xx
Mine are separated Allison, I talk about that and why I space things in the video with Bethan.
I’ve always separated mine
@@eliandkate haha just found that out , i split mine this year much easier
😂😂😂😂
Your blinds seem to be on the wrong side. Unless you have an east west setting.
There’s blinds on both sides Bob
@@eliandkate Duh. sorry
😂😂😂😁😂
Thanks for detail - such different growing conditions. (have to look up blight.) Love your enthusiasm, figuring out tips and tricks, and sharing what you know and do!
I love being organized and efficient. I don't have a fancy setup like yours though. I have a small glass greenhouse, and two plastic ones, one bigger and one small. I like it this way. I'm proud to announce I have made my first-ever asparagus bed, my first ever pumpkin plant is in the ground too. My plans are slowly coming to fruition. Best feeling ever.
wow, sounds like you have a much fancier set up than me :D
`I just have one small greenhouse🤣
I planted 10 asparagus crowns yesterday. My wife says wishful thinking at my age. 🤣🤣
I need to re-organize my shed! An enraged opossom got locked inside and demolished it. Boy, what a mess. My project for today.
Oh, I really like those planters. Gotta check them out... I hope they ship to USA. I use those plant clips also. I prefer them on my tomatoes.
afraid they don't ship to the US, sorry
but
I think someone mentioned you can get them from one of the big gardening suppliers in the US
Thank you for doing this, I am excited to get a greenhouse this fall and to hear your organization techniques and general management of things gives me great ideas to maximize a new space.
Yay
