- In this video I am thinning out the exotic tropical jungle garden border. In my enthusiasm I overfilled the border with plants and now that they have become established it is too full. I need to reduce the number of plants by digging them up and relocating them.
I lift a Trachycarpus Fortunei and a Tree Fern (Dicksonia Antarctica) and lift and divide a Tetrapanax (Papyiferer rex chinese rice paper plant). I also lifted the canopy on my fatsia japonica.
It was a hard morning’s work but eventually everything in the garden looked so much better.
This is a gardening video which demonstrates basic gardening techniques. Digging, dividing, lifting plants, relocating plants, in my exotic tropical jungle garden.

Wow, that looks really good ! I must say it was quite entertaining watching you wrestle that tree fern! 🙂 Sometimes it’s so refreshing to move plants about so you feel like they can breathe better! Great job!
Thanks Lisa it's a bit like moving the furniture around isn't it. You feel you have a new place 😊
Gran trabajo
When I see you struggling with your tree ferns . . . I have to admit I'm relieved I don't have them - as beautiful as they are! 😂 Hard work! Hope you treated yourself to a nice strong tea or glass of wine after all that!
Tea, wine, crisps and a hot bath. Thank you 😊
Greetings from Ireland, Great job Mark looking forward to your video when the plants get bigger.

Great work Mark. I think the border looks better for it
Poor tree fern. LOL
Lol I know. But it shouldn't have argued with me 😂
Looking good, Mark
