I remember driving by the Buick plant in Flint Michigani 1970 they had about 20 parked in the front lined up all yellow GSX s with a white one on each end I thought they were so cool 👍🏼👍🏼😎😎😻😻
Love this owner’s enthusiasm and passion for these rare cars. My parents had a Skylark Sport Wagon - these cars just had so much style - those were the days!

Great video. I always enjoy your videos. I am a diehard Ford guy, but I have to admit the the Buick 1970 GS Stage 1 in yellow is one of the most beautiful muscle cars ever. And, I would love to go for a ride in one to feel that 500 ft.lbs of torque.
Great video! I bought an 82 Mustang GT from Scott a few years back. He has an amazing man cave garage loaded with numerous things with lots of cool history.
And most of it was well deserved. They had horrible oiling issues and there are ways to pretty much eliminate it by enlarging oil holes which increased oiling to the front crank bearings. Scott if your ever ever thinking of holidaying in Australia ,mate my house is open for you and yours ,i could listen to you educated me and my mates for days ,you have the most beautiful cars thats a fact ,legend status achieved
I remember my brother bought a red 72' GS with the 350, black vinyl top auto, console, Cragars, and a few whiskey dents & almost zero brakes for $200.00 back in the mid 80's It hauled a$$.
A friend since the very early 80s has still got his 70 GSX stage one. He’s the third owner the car is a local legend and a monster. I was privileged to start a lot of races when I was 16 around 1987 it waxed an LS seven short block rectangular port headed four speed 55 Chevy that was tubbed the Buick pull the front left wheel off the ground, we had a garage that was my uncle 60s GM dealership this boy Dad worked there was a mechanic. They ran 1000 CFM Thermo quad on it into this. It is the baddest muscle car I’ve ever seen and I’ve been around quite a few monsters.
In 1971 my mother bought a Buick GS and asked them to badge it as a Skylark as she wanted it to handle well. It was stratomist blue metallic with an arctic white top with a black interior and a bench seat. It was my driver and she navigated everywhere we went. Like camping etc. Man what a car! It was a 350 automatic with power disk brakes and a posi rear end, and dual exhaust.
What a video and what a collection. Boy, Parker didn't need to do much talking in this one. That gentleman can just talk and talk and talk… Lol. But I guess that's what you want. The owner spittin' facts!!!
I enjoyed listening to this Buick guy and he's got a great car collection and i appreciate you featuring him. Keep up the good work man ! I went ahead and subscribed while I was here and i hope you have a wonderful weekend...
I grew up near Schenectady and my neighbor(Carl) had a 1970 GS 350-Green. Built a GSX clone. Paint color was red with the black stripe. Not sure where the 455 power plant came from, but do remember he sent the motor to a builder by the name of Kenny Bell. I was younger than my neighbor and was just getting into muscle cars at that time. Anyway- he took me for a ride when he got it back and those bias ply tires had no chance at all. The car hauled ass. At 40mph he’d put his foot into it and the car would try to go straight but the tires would break loose and step out sideways. Anyway- great cars and stories Scott had. Thanks for sharing, which brought up some good memories.
Kenne-Bell. Pop Kennedy and Jim Bell. Old-school Buick racers who began building all-out performance parts. I think they gave it up, maybe 15 years ago and went to superchargers and Mustangs. If Kenne-Bell built it, it must have been a monster.
@ Ya, it was 1987 or 88 when he put the car together so the Bell family was probably neck deep in Buicks still. Thanks for the back round on the Bell’s. 👍
I always loved the Buick GS and X cars! I wonder if the missing bench seats in all the 72's is because of the strike on GM that year, I know it affected lots of parts through the divisions. I remember the Stingray bikes in the 70's as a kid and they were the hottest thing going! Great reminder thanks guys!
This was very entertaining video to watch. I have 71 GS350 Convertible project here in Finland, which is same Fire Red code 75 exterior and 155 Pearl White interior as in this video 72 example. Keep these Buick related videos coming! One additional note on these RamAir scoop grilles, they were even different shape in 71. These weren't flat as 70 and 72 but had upsweep on backside, not only material was different.
Great video. I am a new fan of your channel and I love your vibe. Also, I can't tell the difference between the two Bottega bags, the kislux is close and cute, so that's enough for me. I will bring my friends to buy.
It appears that he can afford a repaint . At least he's not running an outdoor rust farm . But it is hard to watch others not appreciate their things .
Agreed !!! While they are at it take off the 5 stupid Adirondack stickers off the windshield.. that’s ridiculous. Owners says “it’s a super clean car”Lol. Other than the bird shit and the stupid car show stickers that 70 GTO could be a nice car.
A friend of mine bought a 1975 Gremlin X brand new. Not Levis. It was black with gold stripes. He had the 304 V8 and a 3 spd standard. No 4 speed was available. It was a non air car and didn’t have that shelf below the dash. It would be my bet that the shelf was air only. Excellent video Parker. Very knowledgeable Buick man.
The barn find collection I briefly showed in one of my videos has 2 of 165, 1971 GS455 convertibles it's a pretty cool find also. Love finding rare Buicks
@@brettslater872 True but surprising to many about the 350 powered GSX's. Being mainly a trim package, they do carry a lot of stature on the collector market. Did you get a chance to check out the 2 GS455 verts I have in my video. They are 2 of 165 in 1971 total production. 1971 doesn't have the Buick records base that the other years do, to totally break them down by color and options.
@scottscars4153 I saw those two '71 convertibles and it's a shame they're buried in that barn and not being enjoyed and driven as intended. The breakdowns as they relate to color and options only go so far. For instance: my black '70 Stage 1 4-speed at 1:37 of the video, where you're talking about A-Bodys, is 1 of 664 produced at Buick's Flint, MI plant. (not Detroit) In fact, all 1970 Stage 1 and GSX cars were built at the Flint plant - or Buick City, as it was commonly referred to. 664 is the number for the Stage 1 4-speeds for that year and that's all we know and this is based on the Daily Car Reports from Buick, which I have right in front of me. There's no color or option breakdown beyond that. As for the Gulfstream Blue GS convertibles produced in 1970: 44 were made in Flint, 13 at Leeds in KC and 4 at the Fremont plant in CA. All GS ragtops were 455 cars and there's no info beyond that as it relates to colors or option loads, much less how many came with white interiors/tops, aside from how many were Stage 1's. I wish there was but unfortunately, there isn't. Also, 625 convertibles came out of the 3 previously mentioned production plants with white tops and that's all we know. We also know that Buick didn't paint their brake parts red. Ever. Whoever did that probably did it sometime in the mid '70's, as that was popular during that time. It appears you have a great and rare car there and I hope you intend on restoring it or at least cleaning it up and making it roadworthy. It would definitely be a fun cruiser. Should you decide to, feel free to reach out and I'll help you get it back to looking and appearing as correct as possible. Check out my channel for some more info on the black Stage 1, too.
I’m quite positive that red and white boat is an Arkansas Traveler 14’ Runabout. I fully restored a 1964 that had the lapstrake hull. Loved that thing!! I put a 1970’s Mercury Classic 50 on the back and it zipped around at just over 35mph. Great little vintage boat!!👍🏻😎👍🏻
Nice guy I’d like to have him come describe my cars and stuff and go through my Nos GM sheet metal and talk about what I paid for what it’s worth now lol😂
Back in the early 70's i had a regular blue stingray a friend of ours had a green apple crate my stingray was a 2 speed the apple crate was a 5 speed, he was the envey of every bike riding kid in town.
Good job on the video. That guy has a very nice collection and a lot of good information, but when he named the A bodies, he left out the Monte Carlo, which was also a mid size car that shared a lot of parts with the Chevelles. They were also available with the same LS5 454 that the Chevelles had.
I’ve seen that GTO at the Lake George car show, and if I had known about that convertible, I would have been trying to buy it too lol…. I’m 15 minutes away from where that car was….
Nice trip down memory lane. I had a 70 GS 350 back in the 80's, it seriously had all 410-whatever lb/ft of torque for which it was rated thanks to the pre-emission almost 11:1 compression. Later I built a 70 Skylard into a Stage 1 "tribute" that would fool most unless you noticed the 12 bolt rear. It was another one that surprised folks at the drag strip, it looked for all the world like a meticulously restored 13 second car but it ran low 11's all day long. That was stout 30+ years ago lol.
Be nice to see that 70 Buick GS convertible restored. I had a nice Red 72 Skylark that we put a nice Hefty 455 when we finished it up 462 stage 1 Kenny Bell equipped. It's up in Michigan last i seen it was 2010. My buddy Vern had it. He passed away in 2012. Not sure what happened to the car.
A friend who graduated a couple of years earlier than me had big block Chevy swapped his Gremlin . It was a sort of plum crazy purple painted street freak type of car . To many crazy launches left the body permanently twisted by torque and undrivable . Was super fun and got a ton of attention while it lasted .
Too expensive to drive is the stupidest thing I ever heard , really . Who just wants to stare at a car once in awhile ??? Drive it or sell it to someone who will 🙄
A buddy of a buddy had a green gs when I was a teenager. Didn't know anything about em but knew must be special.. left the window down in a barn and the interior got demolished. Solid plan.. and several in his collection were left down ya say👉🥜
Buick performance department during the 1960s and the very early part of the 1970s was a performance department to be reckoned with under General Motors umbrella
Despite this guy being very fastidious, he seems like he would be a fun person to hang out with. He definitely has good taste in cars. And obviously a lot of money. JT: Orlando FLA
I had a 1971 Buick skylark convertible same color as the gs it was all original it was a bench seat with black interior. It had a dime sized hole in the bottom of the passenger side front fender and other than that no sheet metal damage or rust the top didn’t leak it was a low mileage car. Sold it to a guy in knoxsville tenn and he wrote me a check and closed his account before I could cash the check so he stole it from me. I still have my bill of sale with the vin on it I really would love to get it back. But never will. I drove it for a couple of years and it was a great car.
The Gremlin brought me back. My cousin had the Gremlin in green and my sister had the Hornet in green. We hit a deer with the Hornet. My dad was a welder. He grabbed a grill from 1/8" x 1/2" flat bar and expanded metal. Good times😂
Mine was a little different and didn't have a derailer on it and it was definitely red.It did have the generator for the backtire. Was a slick white letter.Did not have the shock on the seat.It did have the shift and lever and everything else
As a young guy, I had a '69 400 GOAT (my avatar), and later a '71 455 HO GOAT. The '71 was a special order for the dealer's wife which explained the white vinyl top I removed. A true HO with every option available. The '69 was a neck-snapper, while the '71 was more of a powerful cruiser. Thank the EPA for that, the malaise era began then. Also, the '71 got 9 mpg for a little _less_ oomph. Verdict? I'll take the '69 any day. Also. I worked on head subassembly at Chrysler in '75 while at University. There were 4 of us. I had the '69 GOAT, and the others had: a '68 HEMI Charger, a '69 383 Road Runner, and, dear Lord, a '74 gto. It's UNcapitalized because it had the guts of a 6-cyl Nova. IMHO, real GOATS were '64 to '71. Great video!
I beg to differ. Why anyone would, is beyond me. But there was a "dealer installed option" available to put the 350 engines in the Buick GSX. Also, while not widely considered among the great 70-72 Buick GS vehicles, the 73-74 GS/GSX model could be had with the 350 engines.
Had a 75 Buick Gran Sport. I know I know Last year, just an appearance package at that point. Silver body with the yellowish stripes, and the Silver interior. 350 Auto. Probably the best working car I had or years. Like everything in the area rusted out bad. Sold it to a salvage yard for scrap, he cut the roof off and used it for a yard vehicle, torches and tool box. Ran for years, always just touch the key and it was running.
My mom got 76 Eldorado turquoise green from Claude Nolan Cadillac n Jacksonville Florida it had the 502 v8 n i know that for all the trans fluid I dumped n the power steering pump that wined constantly n the front wheel drive clicking every time we turned it ended up n Englewood Florida 😊
I had a 1970 GS 455, gold w/brown vinyl top. Auto, bench seat. Got it in 72 used. Car was a rocket. In 1974 I almost bought a 1970 GS Stage 1, White, White interior, 4 speed manual trans for $2,000.00 in Piedmont Ca. I test drove but It was more than I had, I only had $1,800. That car was fast. The guy was firm on the price. I passed...ugh.😭
Holy bird crap Batman!! Buy some cheap covers for Gods sake. What a shame. “If it was a real Judge you wouldn’t drive it” well, maybe you wouldn’t but I sure would, and it wouldn’t be covered in bird crap.
Oh Lord. I love my Boattail, but this is what first got me interested. My first car was a slightly wrecked '70 Skylark, that my mom gave me. I blew the motor and dropped in a 455/TH400.
My 1970 Buick GS455 convertible has been sitting in my garage for 30 years. Unfortunately I currently don't have the money or the time to do this rare muscle car true justice. It needs someone who does have the ability and the funds to restore it's proper glory
I thought for a minute that the stage 1 convertible in blue might just might be my budys car from back in 77, he had a blue Stage 1 455 convertible, but it was a black top, and a darker blue 70. I always wonder where it ended up, it was in Millis, MASS. where it was, and man alive was that thing fast!!
Thanks, good , quick overviews of GS/ GTO,etc. Interestingly, my first “ new car purchase was a 1970 LOADED Dodge Coronet 500/ Ralley Red/ Black Vinyl top/ ps,PB, Deluxe INT/ Console/383/4 BBL/ Dual Exhaust,@ $3100.00 …WE could not really afford the BUICK GS/ GTO/ Boss TALLADEGA \Suoerbird ((though to long & Dramatic) even in Late summer 1970………..
On RUclips Lou Costabile this is the car my brother and I have been looking for since 1976 and everything that’s been restored is correct, if this car was in production, they would over whelm the 426 hemi
Always loved Stage 1 for uniqueness. Interesting how often the phrase “Holy Grail” mentioned. My definition probably differs from others. For example, the only 1968 Z28 convertible in existence in dark green exemplifies the phrase.
I remember driving by the Buick plant in Flint Michigani 1970 they had about 20 parked in the front lined up all yellow GSX s with a white one on each end I thought they were so cool 👍🏼👍🏼😎😎😻😻
Those cars in that barn need a lot of love. Gotta restore them to there original glory!
Love this owner’s enthusiasm and passion for these rare cars. My parents had a Skylark Sport Wagon - these cars just had so much style - those were the days!
HI PARKER , You are finding many BARN FINDS with great owners.
I also super enjoy when you find/interview the OLD GUYS , especially the STREET RACERS.

What an AWESOME collection! 😎
What an awesome dude Parker. Killer cars I really enjoyed it.

Great video and find Parker thanx for sharing to you and Scott......🔥🔥🔥❤️👍🏽💯
The Buick was so SO. UNDERRATED. Remember seeing a lot of GS,s when younger. Wish I had 1
And most of it was well deserved. They had horrible oiling issues and there are ways to pretty much eliminate it by enlarging oil holes which increased oiling to the front crank bearings. But being that they all burned up originally before anyone knew about that mod, there are very few S1's with their original engines.
Parker, Scott you are the history guy for Buick......thanks great video.....
Respectfully:
Scott's definitely not the Buick history guy. There's way too much wrong information in this video.

Now that's a car guy with solid info, thanks for sharing this experience.
He absolutely knows his GS..bs.😂 makes me wonder if everything (not just his cars) has a price tag. Still, good info.
Just finished the whole thing. Great video with great information Parker. Thank you.

The old Schwinn orange crate is the coolest thing in the garage 😂 had one when I was growing up
I had a Schwinn Lemon Peel late 60s that my parents got me. I loved that bike.. had no idea it would ever be a collector bicycle.

I had a1972 Buick Skylark Custom convertible when I was 17. I sold it the same year and been looking for another ever since. I'm 55 now.
I also used to own a 1970 Buick Skylark 350 that had a factory installed 12 bolt rear axle. It was a Canadian made car.
The barn find collection I briefly showed in one of my videos has 2 of 165, 1971 GS455 convertibles it's a pretty cool find also. Love finding rare Buicks
The 1971 and 1972 GSX's were also available with a 350 and there were 3,764 cars that came with the N-25 rear bumper option in 1971 and 1972.
@@brettslater872 True but surprising to many about the 350 powered GSX's. Being mainly a trim package,

Was super fun and got a ton of attention while it lasted .
Too expensive to drive is the stupidest thing I ever heard , really . Who just wants to stare at a car once in awhile ??? Drive it or sell it to someone who will 🙄
Damn Straight
The same guy that wont have sex with his smokin hot wife so she will still be a virgin for her next husband...lol.
A buddy of a buddy had a green gs when I was a teenager. Didn't know anything about em but knew must be special.. left the window down in a barn and the interior got demolished. Solid plan.. and several in his collection were left down ya say👉🥜
Wow this is crazy I’m from Albany NY maybe 20 mins away!
Buick performance department during the 1960s and the very early part of the 1970s was a performance department to be reckoned with under General Motors umbrella
Despite this guy being very fastidious, he seems like he would be a fun person to hang out with. He definitely has good taste in cars. And obviously a lot of money.
JT: Orlando FLA
i like the Schwinn 5 spd 'Orange Peeler' hanging on the wall, my friend got a yellow one for christmas in 1971
I had the "Pea Picker" & my headlight worked by putting the gear against the front tire. As it spun the little generator powered the light.
@@robinluck2922 they were the coolest bike in the neighborhood
I had a 1971 Buick skylark convertible same color as the gs it was all original it was a bench seat with black interior. It had a dime sized hole in the bottom of the passenger side front fender and other than that no sheet metal damage or rust the top didn’t leak it was a low mileage car. Sold it to a guy in knoxsville tenn and he wrote me a check and closed his account before I could cash the check so he stole it from me. I still have my bill of sale with the vin on it I really would love to get it back. But never will. I drove it for a couple of years and it was a great car.
Sorry to hear about the theft of your GS. I’d like to think nothing but the worst in life befell that man.
The Gremlin brought me back.
My cousin had the Gremlin in green and my sister had the Hornet in green. We hit a deer with the Hornet. My dad was a welder. He grabbed a grill from 1/8" x 1/2" flat bar and expanded metal. Good times😂
I had a Oldsmoble Cutless SX with a 455 v8,beanch seat, factory rimes. Is there any collection of this models?
Cool Buicks always liked the gs n gsx. As far as gremlins, I have a gremlin gas cap.😂
I get jealous of these guys...how they can buy so many cars, build garages,ect--I have to buy my car tires on a payment plan
You should visit the Adirondack Nationals show! It’s brings out a bunch of great cars.
I know I know
Last year, just an appearance package at that point.
I have a 1970 Buick GS 455 convertible.
Yeah .
“ too valuable to drive “
I guess nobody’s been to the new car dealership lately
I Agree! I would drive all of them!😊😊😊
Him: Does it still go MEEP MEEP?
Me: Since the battery is dead it goes NOPE NOPE! 😂🤣😆
This is in my back yard!! Who knew?!?!?
I happen to own 1969 Schwinn apple crate original Redline tires. With all the accessories except for Mirror . Kool
I had an Apple Crate at 6 yrs old, couldn't ride it for a few yrs later, mom drove over it with the Cadillac grand coupe, gave it to my cousin
My dad had a 1970 grimlin. purple 4 speed believed 340 V8 I think it was pretty fast? back in the day 🤷♂️
Had a good w/white int.71'GS stage1
The girl up the street.....her mom bought her a Gremlin levi edition....blue jean blue.....blue jean upolstry.
Very Cool
Gotta Love It ! Scott is what car guys on coke are all about !!!!
