Yes, it took some time. I've been trying out a lot of different things and also working with movie recaps channels. After these months of experience, I found a surefire way to create movie recaps videos that actually works on RUclips.
I have watched almost all of the RUclips videos on RUclips about how to make movie recap videos. Nearly all of them claim they can teach you to create a video without copyright issues. However, only most methods are ineffective for the current RUclips copyright check if you make a movie recap video longer than 2 minutes. I have asked some RUclipsrs, and they have blurred or wrong answers. If we watch Movie Recaps channel's recapped videos, we will find most of his recapped videos are very natural, with no movie slowdown, no significant color grade, etc., and with no other particular technical or transformative dealing. Sometimes, I found that even if I use movie clips of 8 seconds, they cannot be scanned for copyright-protected content as long as they are shorter than 3 minutes. So, a video that is shorter than 2-3 minutes is safe. That is why most RUclipsrs make videos that teach how to make movie recap videos for only 2-3 minutes. If they use longer videos, they also can't pass RUclips copyright checks. In addition, flipping the movie can still be recognized by the RUclips copyright Matching tool if your video is more than 3 minutes. If you give more transformative elements to your recapped video, it will not be natural like an attractive movie.

As long as it is only a movie recap video, there are three easy ways to avoid copyright claims: 1. Do not use clips longer than 4 seconds 2. Slow down the clips significantly (0.5 or so) 3. Use reversed clips (there are free apps available which can save the movie running backwards). I have tried it by reversing and uploading an entire copyrighted movie and the copyright scan said "no issues found". Obviously, such a backwards running movie won't make any sense but if you use small clips, it would hardly be noticeable.
You make this part look so easy 5:06....it took me more than 4 hours to do this...its the most tedious part since I have to relisten to the narration to see if they align with the video
Making 2 movie recap videos per day is not easy, unless you have nothing else to do besides edit videos. Even if you could, one day you're going to burnout.

@TryItCZ Ask them to give you the written movie recap voiceover script, not only the audio. Scan through the entire movie at 2× speed as you go through the script. When you start editing it would be easier because you already kind of know the next scene to cut to. This method works very well for me. And it saves me a ton of hours. About 4hours per video.

Adding transitions between cuts may help, but not all the time. The reason why the cut is necessary is because of content ID detectors. Sometimes they need at least 3-5 seconds of the uploaded movie footage to match what's already in the database before it can be marked.

I just wanted to show the process of editing and how it's done. You can go ahead and create RUclips Shorts but you're going to split up the video into smaller portions.

I select films from non-major studios, clips no longer than 3 seconds, slow down clip speeds, etc., mainly following what other channels with monetization do. I've had a couple of copyright restrictions, but overall, everything is fine. I can't say what will happen when applying for monetization, it's a mystery to me.

Yes. But it's a little bit risky. If the video gets a lot of views like 100K views, the original creator could see it and copyright strike the video. It happens to so many people quite often.

Yes it works. It was an extra step to make sure that they don't block this video and it remained monetized. You can even use other less obvious frames but the one that works best is flipping the video horizontally and changing some visual properties as I showed.
I watched the movie from beginning to end. I then wrote down the most important things that happened in the movie. While editing, I cut out the most important scenes that would tell the story while cutting off the rest. That's how I was able to reduce the movie to a 10 Mins summary.

Spacing between each 3 second clip doesn't really matter, what matters is that the original video doesn't contain any scene that lasts longer than 3 seconds without any cut.
To match the video with the voiceover, you just have to make sure that whatever is happening in the video matches with what the narrator is saying in the Voiceover. If you're not familiar with editing this type of video, you can practice watching the video and cutting ✂️ it at the correct times and trying to match what is happening in the film footage with what is being said in the voice over narration. Apart from that, the only method I know about is by using outside promotions, which is getting external traffic to the videos.

Yes. From my experience, It's only the visuals. But you can never predict RUclips content ID system. I took some of my videos on this channel (removed the visuals but kept the voiceover), reposted them onto another channel and nothing happened. Videos are fine. But if you want to do something like that, it's advisable that you cut some parts of the voiceover and completely change the visuals to be on the safer side.
thats cos they lazy.. i edit mine so it sounds realistic, with no gaps or mistakes or weird pronunciations, u gotta play around with it, takes more time though@@jtmann2002
When I import a 1GB sized movie file in capcut, i noticed lagging when trying to zoom in/out the timeline to locate the scene, my laptop is macbook pro m1 with 8GB ram , is it not powerful enough?
I think the issue is the size of the available RAM on your computer. You need more than 8gb RAM, maybe 16gb. Also you can try to turn on Proxy in the project settings in CapCut.

As long as it is only a movie recap video, there are three easy ways to avoid copyright claims:
1. Do not use clips longer than 4 seconds

Yes. Just use a rectangular mask, or any masking technique you know how to use.

They're going to get monetized. RUclips doesn't consider voiceover as part of their criteria for repetitive, or reused content.

Maybe you have to change your niche.

Watch through the movie and then highlight only the most important or interesting portions. Don't try to include anything that's not so relevant.
