As a USC Alumni this was hands down the best college football game I've ever been to and that includes the 5 year win streak against Clemson. The student section was like nothing else in college football, stands shaking, visitor section weeping, and the gamecocks winning. Go Fight Win Kickass! USC!
I was a college freshman and this was one maybe my second or third game that season. We also had college gameday that weekend. The 2012 Georgia game was by far the most electric environment I've ever been a part of in my life.
I went to that game as a bama fan and still remember bama being in the game after the 2nd half and at least a quarter of that stadium left. Carolina fans are horrible about this, and ive been to plenty of games here in columbia to see it first hand.
If only. The guy was too dynamic for his own good. I watched him tear his knees up both times live and never felt worse for a person in my life. Hes still one of my favorite Gamecocks.
I know it looked bad for y’all in 2019 but y’all did score 23 on them and got like 31 first downs or sum crazy shit like that but don’t worry LSU got em for you on the way to the natty and their big brother auburn also got em
Been watching Gamecock football for over 45 yrs. This is by far one my favorite games. Long for good coaching and a demand for perfection. 2019 is going to be a long year for Gamecock football.
There was a lot of future NFL players on the field that day. Also...Garcia is the man. Didn’t give a damn about contact. Didn’t care about your hype. Nothing phased that guy.
Things I remember about this game: 1. Stephen Garcia looked like Joe Montana 2. Greg McElroy got sacked like 50 million times 3. Marcus Lattimore Alabama's offensive line was pretty bad in 2010, and their inability to control the LOS that year cost them against LSU and Auburn as well. The South Carolina game was a sign of things to come that year unfortunately.
The line wasn't bad that year. They were outmatched in the games they lost. Since Saban took over the games Bama loses are typically the ones where the opponent matches up across at least 2/3 areas.
What lost them auburn was play I g conservative the entire second half and making mistales that game. Bad o line or not, that was coaching and poor mistakes. Totally winnable game gave away
This South Carolina team is one of five teams to beat Alabama in the Saban era and then finish with under 10 wins. 2010 South Carolina and 2014 Ole Miss are the only teams to do so after 2007.
@@zachharrelson9971 did you read the comment? Smartest... Do you realize that florida sucked before spurrier got there. Duke was bad before and after. SC ehhh hard to say right now. He is the smartest and possibly the best college coach of all time. U dont gotta agree but u can't say that's bull shit. If you do consider it bs then you dont follow college football period
Zach Harrelson Spurrier was a better coach than Meyer. I know Meyer won two national titles at Florida, but Spurrier won way more SEC titles and had a higher winning percentage. The only reason Spurrier didn’t win more than one national title is FSU was also an absolute powerhouse in the 90’s and those two programs were constantly knocking each other out of national title contention. Meyer didn’t have to contend with that. He faced a weak FSU program with Bowden way past his prime.
Zach Harrelson Spurrier is the best coach in the history of two SEC programs. He gave South Carolina four of their best seasons ever in 2010 - 2013. They went 42-11 during that stretch.

ruclips.net/video/L-_kf12favE/видео.html One of the best clutch WR catches in college football history is Alshon Jeffery in the 4th. 1st and 10 with about 8 1/2 minutes left to go, only up by 7, and Alshon pulls in the catch single handed despite the egregious defensive pass interference and seals the huge upset win for #19 USC over #1 Alabama. Helluva way to end my senior year at USC.

It's funny to watch these games and realize that the best days for some of these fans of other schools are that one time they beat Alabama. SC, A&M, Clemson, Ole Miss. Auburn even defines their entire season based off the result of the Iron Bowl. 8 years later, SC fans are still commenting on this game (other videos). Just goes to show that Alabama will be the team to beat in college football for a very long time.

It was a shame he didn't. Auburn guy here but I got to know him personally and gained a lot of respect for him, quality guy.
