But he could cook some stuff up, and this game was the last time he had a gameplan that beat bama and it got us the 9 points we needed to win. Jordan Jefferson gets a lot of hate but he played well this game. The stats don't show it but that little short side option play we ran was perfect he made the right call everytime and got those tough yards.

My memory is hazy but I think these teams had to play like 110+ minutes of football against each other for someone to finally score a TD that year. The offenses had limitations but the defenses were definitely great.
This game is a perfect example of how sometimes you don't exactly lose, but rather you're prevented from winning. Alabama could have rocked LSU but the Tigers were repeatedly clutch and made one saving play after another.
Saban said the team, and particularly AJ McCarron, played way too tight and nervous in this game. After it was over they felt like they were the better team and let it slip away. Once they got that chance at the rematch, there was no stopping them. They knew it, and deep down, LSU knew it too.
