To answer the question about the final race - this is a rare scenario, but she staged in the second bulb really “shallow” (barely in the beam) - so the tree activated, and the car rolled backwards just enough for the Tire to roll out of the beam, causing the red light. Shitty deal, we really wanted to see that race too.
Its refered to as a "time out red light" you only have a certain amount of time to get into the beams once the other guy is staged. Thats how drag racing works. Asking for "reruns" is not how drag racing works, only street outlaws.
Cant blame auto-start. Ive seen turbo cars bump in and flicker the bottom bulbs 3 or 4 times. The starter started the tree before she was really "in". Thats why he was shaking his head.....

How to turn her into a hoon... Buy her a low maintenance V8, like a Toyota SC400 aka Soarer. Put a twin 3" exhaust with a straight-thru cat delete on it, and that is enough to bring out the Hoon in practically any woman who has a soul. Make her do all the oil changes herself, and she will grow some kind of attachment towards it. Those Toyota V8's absolutely sing, and the rumble of the twin 3" would any woman wet.

I love the days of using a clutch, having the fronts two feet off the ground, grinding from 1st to 4th with your Muncie M22 rock crusher manual in your 67 Chevy II.
