Buyers beware! I just purchased one. I have not received it yet, but was advised by Nivada that my watch was shipping from Hong Kong. I went back to the Nivada website to verify "Swiss Made" and "All of our watches are made in Switzerland in true Nivada Grenchen authenticity..." So I contacted customer service requesting the country of manufacture. I was given a vague response about fulfillment centers, so I asked directly"Where was the watch made?" The response: "Hong Kong." More than misleading: dishonest
Apparently made in China with Swiss movements. Mine arrived nonfunctional, and Nivada will not respond to my message. The AD refunded the price of the watch, but not the shipping to and from, out $70, which is not great. Some commentors are noting that they get hit with import tax, due to the stated value of the watch and coming from China.
I own the white/silver Antarctic Spider and while it's a pretty piece, I am dismayed by Nivada's terrible customer service and would urge prospective buyers to be cautious. My watch had a problem with the stem (and perhaps with the mechanism) so I sent it to be repaired three months ago. They haven't returned it yet and have ignored my last four e-mails enquiring about the status of things. Really inexcusable.
@@kevh6691 Yes, exactly. Almost impossible to wind. I've now been waiting three months for the repair to be effectuated and sent numerous e-mails to Nivada but still nothing.
@@chrishennemeyer7276 Thanks for that intel. I’ve been digging on the interwebs to try to find substantive info on their watches and the company’s history. Most of the info I’ve been able to find is either from the company’s web site or from sites that are more interested in selling watches than providing useful information (Fratello Watches, Hodinkee, etc.). Feels more like advertising than research… Honestly, I think their watches look amazing and seem well spec’d, but your misfortune has pushed me off the fence on this brand. Sorry for your bad luck. 😕
Case is far too thick. $200 for the metal bracelet. Movement costs $175. Company has a poor reputation for customer service. Yet another homage but this one is charging too much for a basic auto...
Just looking at these. Really like the 369 version. I believe the original was 35mm
My research has the original at 34mm diameter.
where are these new nivada grenchen watches made? fully made in switzerland? seems very affordable to be fully swiss made no?

That's all I need to hear to make me an admirer, but not a customer.
Your feedback along with the watch looking kinda of blah plus nearly a grand price point makes this watch a no go in my book
If you don't mind me asking what was wrong with the stem? Was it very stiff to wind?
