Great job and thanks for the shoutout. These experiments are harder than they look as despite sharing a brand name these three perform with some unique attributes which makes these tricky to pull off

Thanks James! Yeah...it's for sure tricky to maintain 3 KJs but happy to see the results even with the jr temps getting away from me. I count that as a user error 😂 trying to multitask by edit while filming and cooking! I was happy to still see the joe junior produce a great rib! These are all fun experiments hopefully provide great learning for all!

Enjoyed the KJ comparison. It kind of made sense that Jr's ribs would get done quicker because of the radiant heat being closer to the food. It helped that your demonstration showed that for us Bartlow's BBQ fans. I'll keep that in mind. I haven't cooked ribs on the Jr yet, but will do so after watching this. Cheers!

Thanks so much my friend and glad it was helpful. Agree, it made sense it cooked faster being closer to the fire. It would have had a even better outcome at a lower temp. I appreciate the support and watching! Let me know if there is anything else you would like to see!

Another awesome experiment Scott. That foil boat technique definitely works. Overall looks like excellent results from a fun experiment.

Great video. Last video you used the double deflection method with foil boat on Brisket. Any reason you didn’t use double deflection this time on the ribs?

Thank you so much. I mainly didn't use double indirect on all grills as I don't have a enough deflectors or pizza stones for the double portion and still haven't figured out how I might set that up for joe junior being smaller. Also, I will try to continue to be mindful of those watching that might not have the extra accessories for it.

This was quite a session! I have only one KJ and that's the Classic III so I am happy to see the winner was a Classic!

Total newb question but what are the big white spots in those sliced ribs? I guess I’ve only ever had baby backs.

Thanks for watching! That is the cartilage connecting the ends of the ribs to each other.

Nice comparison. I’d love to have any of the Joe’s for our house. -S
