Now that I'm 49, my 26 year old daughter took me to Ulta a few months back to get some new products and have me try some new things. That Morphe spray is one she had me get. I LOVE IT!! I also recently bought the Milani Prep Set and Go and it's fabulous. It's a new world and your videos inspire me and help me so much!
Karla Neese I’m 49 too and those are great picks. I love makeup and am really starting to look for more affordable makeup that is new and that I love. I have always used Mary Kay and I love it but it is getting more pricey but it’s good stuff.
Great advice! I'm 54, don't do botox, fillers or any other cosmetic procedures and have been a skincare and makeup enthusiast since my teens (didn't have a lot to choose from then!) I love hearing about different skincare (love your The Ordinary skincare videos) and makeup routines. Thanks for your very well thought out and organized skincare/makeup advice! Looking forward to checking out more of your vids!
Hi Kristine - thank you so much for stopping by! I wish I'd had your smarts about skincare when I was younger. There are so many wonderful, affordable products out now that are saving my much neglected face! Ha!
Girl - do I ever hear what you're saying. Back in the early 80s, I was not only a regular wearer of makeup, but I worked for (and modeled with) a modeling agency in Northern California. I was a makeup artist for the new girls coming in to the agency!! Well, NOW, I am getting back into makeup and all the new tools, products, setting sprays, highlighters, etc., I was blown away and yes, overwhelmed. I have been getting back into makeup for the last 2 years (I am 60 now), and collecting lots of products and tools and I really, REALLY appreciate your suggestions and demonstrations! I have been watching a lot of the young RUclipsrs makeup geeks (actually Makeup Geek is one of my favorite highlighters!) but they all have that lovely young, taut skin and well... I don't anymore! 🥺Thank you for sharing your starter kit and demonstrating how you use these products. It's a lot of fun getting back into makeup after a fairly long hiatus away from it.
Hi, You are so comforting to listen too. I didn’t wear very many eye shadows until my 60’s. I can relate to just wearing mascara, blush and liner for so many years and they were all either Maybelline, Covergirl, L’Oréal and sometimes Max Factor all from Walgreens or Target. 😀 I will be 63 this year so I’m now going strong getting into cosmetics and skincare. 👍❤️❤️❤️
Hi Robin! You and I are the same age! I think I'm enjoying makeup more than ever - it just seems like fun play for me at this age. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hi, I'm now 60 and really needed this video. Of course, I subscribed and will stalk your videos. I love the way you present the material in your videos.
Hi Kimberly, I just found you today and really love your channel. I tried very few other make up tutorials but I found them not practical for me, or sometimes even condescending which never helps. I found your way of explaining and your application so well done. I understand why you use what you do and how to correctly apply it. That is so helpful for someone like me that got so out of touch with the make up world. When I was in my teens, high school of course meant I ALWAYS had make up on. In my 20s I splurged on very pricey make up with the Victoria Jackson's line, and I liked it a lot at the time but after a few years, became unable to get it. So I tried some other expensive brands after that but didn't like them. I found better results with drug store brands most of the time, which surprised me so much. (I still remember one of my favorite lipsticks from high school that was a brownish/red color that came in a yellow tube...can't remember the line though. Loved that lipstick!) I'm in my mid-late 40s now. For a good portion of time in my 30s I stopped wearing make up or following a skin care routine. I didn't have the time and sometimes the money to do it. Type of work (I worked at a horse farm and had warehouse type jobs) meant make up wasn't a priority - the horses sure didn't care lol. And wearing make up outside in that environment attracted flies and bees around my face which got old real quick. Then as I hit my early 40s, I noticed my make up didn't look right anymore when I did bother to apply it and I stopped bothering unless it was a special occasion -and even then I was very unhappy with how it looked. I really like how you use and demonstrate both drug store and high end brands. At this time, I have a very limited budget for extras. And after being so isolated due to covid, I want to sometimes put in the effort and do a simple make up routine just to feel better, even a 10 minute spruce up, but as I said above, I stopped wearing it and all of my stuff is severely out of date. You'd cringe lol. Thanks to you, I have a direction to start and rebuy age appropriate and skin type appropriate make up. I have a few goodies saved up on my wishlist, and I can get some new product when circumstances allow. My mom is around the same age as you, and she is a strikingly beautiful woman, but has always struggled to find make up she likes. I pointed her in your direction. Sorry such a long note to say thank you and how helpful I found your videos. I appreciate the time you take making them.
I just discovered your channel and am loving it. You LOOK amazing! You ARE amazing! Thanks for your tips and advice. The tip you gave in one of your videos regarding how to place eye shadow in the crease was a game changer for me. Placing it while looking straight on and then lifting it at the corners makes a huge difference. Thanks so much! xoxo
Great video! I'm a "loved my makeup, got too busy, going back to makeup" woman. What a pleasure to see some of my own favorites included in your beginner's kit! Huge fan of Maybelline Age Rewind, Cover Girl foundation and blush (soft mink is amazing), and many ELF products esp brushes. Coty's Airspun IS such a nostalgic fragrance 🧡. One thing I wish companies would bring back is brown (not black brown or brownish black) mascara. My complexion is a "true Autumn" (I'm sure you understand that 😄) and black is so harsh on my eyes - can't use black eyeliner either. One of my biggest disappointments was discovering L'Oreal discontinued brown from their Voluminous mascara line. It was the only mascara I used and now I'm fumbling for a thickening but not lengthening mascara.
Such a cute presentation personality that reminds me of a more mature Hannah Brown (Bachelorette) at an age that I can certainly relate to. Something I have noticed about makeup as I age is a growing sensitivity to chemicals, so have gotten pickier and pickier in selecting items I can tolerate. I haven't seen all your postings, but always looking for advice along those lines. Glad I found you here and thank you for sharing with us.
Hi Kimberly ,you mentioned some of my favourite products that I use all the time , the age rewind ,the coty air spun, the butter bronzer ,prep set &glow,(I hit pan on mine and have a back up ) the Milani eye palettes, like you I fell away from makeup and skincare for years ,I am now loving how I look and feel ! This was an excellent video Kimberly and I feel your channel is going places Love you Hugs Frances 😍🥰💖
Hi Nona! Always such a treat to see you here. The Profusion brushes I use and love are all from the palettes I've purchased. Another good reason to buy from them!
Hi there… very Awsome video…thank you. If you only had 5 minutes to do your make up,which products would you use ? Also… with blue eyes.. is there a certain eye shadow color you would use? I live in Canada…and am having trouble finding some of the items you are recommending. The Millani ( not sure if i spelt it correctly) items. Are you able to recommend something else as good ,that, you, love. Once again, thank you for your expertise and wonder enthusiasm. Pam
Hi Deborah - thanks for stopping by! The brush line is new and may only be available from their website. You might call Ulta and ask if they're carrying them. The ones I use daily came from my Profusion palettes - they're really good and I love them!
I'm a new subbie. Great video I'll be 52 in June. I always love new recommendations. I hope you'll do more of these in the future because things are being discontinued all the time even amazing palettes like The Most loved Mattes by Milani.
I’m 52 and am lost as what will work on my face now that my skin is changing. My mother is 3 states away so she can’t help me. Thanks for starting this RUclips channel.
I create Jewelry & I have made a lot of necklaces like the one you're wearing! They are popular & I use gemstones & rocks, yeah rocks such as Jasper, Rose Quartz, Sardonyx, Peace Jade, Picture Jasper, Dalmatian & Snowflake Jasper to name a few! With Pearls & Paua shell as well! I am a drugstore makeup junky! I have a limited budget of $25 a month to spend so I'm careful in what I buy. i will never own C. Tilbury, Hourglass or any other 'designer' brands but I don't have that FOMO feeling every time an influencer announces their new $150 find! So thank you for keeping it real & affordable! (✿◠‿◠)
Do you keep Restore in the refrigerator? It just says a cool place. Just wondering where everyone keeps it. Thanks! I have been doing it for about 5 days now. Excited to see if I see a difference. I am 66.
For the photo ready primer, there are three different shades one is brightening one is perfecting and one is for pores. How are you know which one to choose?
i have never woren mascara. went for a makeover in a store and they put on a light weight masacar. By time i got home i had to take it off. hated th e feeling /weight of it. i'm 55 and my skin care routine is face wash that costs £1.50, moisturiser. Take off make up with cold water amd moisturiser. Have not used soap in oveer 11 years.
Hi Imelda - so happy to have you stop by! I'll definitely put that on my video list. Besides MAC, what are a few of your fav brands you'd like me to feature?
Hi Kimberly.... just found you & have been really enjoying your videos! Please tell me which color MasterChrome highlighter (& bronzer) do you use....thanks!
I tried the Loreal mascara as I had heard about it on another video. Really disappointed after having to put in eye drops during the day. Prior to that I loved the look and how it extended the length. After the drops I looked like Tammy Faye Baker! Not a good look.

Yesssss this mascara is the BEST. Very underrated .. I preferred it over my Lancôme & Dior mascaras
Wow! I showed my husband was shocked that you're 63 years old! You look amazing!
SIXTY THREE?????????? HOLY S%&T you look amazing!
I can't believe it either!! ❤️❤️
@Zyaire Thomas is that a uTube channel?

You look Amazing
I love your whole look including jewelry and clothes
Thank you so much Donna! It's nice to have you here.
New to your channel and am really enjoying! I have really bad eye bags. Recommendation on application?
Hi Catherine, thanks for stopping by. I try to be very light in application with my eye bags. Just enough to tone down the dark circles.
A couple other good ones are: Wet ‘N Wild eyeshadows. It doesn’t look like powder shadow on the lids. And L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lash mascara.
Hi Jane, I love Wet n Wild shadows! Thank you so much for stopping by.
I think the master chrome is under rated!
Hahahaha.."smells like highschool" I know exactly what you mean!
What drugstore can you purchase the profusion brushes at?
Hi Deborah - thanks for stopping by! The brush line is new and may only be available from their website. You might call Ulta and ask if they're carrying them. The ones I use daily came from my Profusion palettes - they're really good and I love them!

I thought only l loving things something was the kiss of death..it would be discontinued or no longer available near where l live!!!
Your videos are very helpful. I'm over fifty and want to start wearing makeup again.
Great video. Love your hair ...... a hair style tutorial perhaps?
Hi Erica - thanks so much for stopping by! I'm hoping to start doing hair styling videos about once a month, so stayed tuned!

Does the L’Oréal mascara come in waterproof?
How do I know what colours are right for my skin tone. I'm dark brown
Where is the Part 2 of this video? I can’t find it.

Any lash lengthening mascara’s are not safe for contact lens wear rules unfortunately
💞
I Yes s we. Yes
The foundation is sooo heavy. Not flattering ever but especially for over 50 skin.
Interested in learning however too much repeated talking before you get started
Wow, that intro was way too long.
Hi Kimberly, I know this is an older video, but can you tell where you got your necklace? I love it!
Thank you. 🤗💐
