Those fairies look very like the flower fairies, I had a set of Flower Fairies books when I was a child and loved them. I still think back to some of the pictures when I see certain wild flowers 🥰
I did use tear away stabilizer as the written instructions gave, but will for sure use the water soluble next time and I need to do a better job cutting where the turn opening is, as mine didn't have enough to do a proper turning in. So I had to "wing it" for my first attempt on this cute bag. Thank you for the excellent video!
You're welcome Bobbi. To be honest I never use tear away I don't find it holds up well, so I only use either cut away or wash away. I am sure your next one will work out fine, sometimes you have to stitch one out to get the feel of it then you nail it.
You're welcome Lyn, it really is as easy as it looks, just take your time to line things up properly when placing your top and bottom front pieces. Go on you can make this, use this video and stitch it step by step. Happy stitching.

The small squizzors are my cant live without scissors. They are inexpensive, stay sharp, cut through quite thick layers and comfortable in my hand. Thank you for the video, as always they are great. I like seeing how a pattern comes together. I like watching the machine work, even when it's in fast forward.
Thanks Denise. I dont use tear away I find it too weak and it tears during stitching which defeats the whole object of stabilizer in my opinion. I only keep wash away and cut away. Thanks for watching. Happy stitching.
Hi Jane you would need to contact Heather at Kreative Kiwi about that as it is her design. You will find the contact address at the top of the KK website.
You do such great videos. I have a question about why you would use wash away (2 layers) instead of cut away or tear away? Where are you ordering the lace zippers from?? THANKS.
Hi Mary, you use two layers because the stabilizer is the foundation of your building, it is there to stop the fabric from stretching and skewing as it stitches and often one layer isn't enough. The more solid your foundation the neater your stitching will be because it stabilizes everything. I used wash away stabilizer because if you advance to timestamp 10:15 you will see you have to cut the stabilizer away and using cut away would mean that you wouldn't be able to cut it away completely, some of it would always show. I never use tear away as I find it isn't very strong and in my opinion it doesn't do a good enough job of stabilizing and has a tendency to tear during stitching. I hope that helps you. Happy stitching
I use 2 wash away pieces or you can use one layer of cut away or 1 layer of no show/invisible mesh depending on the brand if you prefer. I don't recommend tear away as it doesn't hold up well to any satin stitch and if you wash it it can go lumpy with tear away so yeah I am not a fan of it for embroidery.
Hi Vittoria it depends on the size you are going to make, all sizes are given in the instructions. If you make sure your nylon zipper is longer than the longest length of your hoop you will be fine.
Hi Mary thanks for watching, you can buy them in bulk from aliexpress.com or from Amazon. I bought mine from Amazon. I buy 50 or 100 at a time as it is much cheaper to buy them in a bundle. I get ones that will fit my largest hoop and just cut them down at the time of stitching out a design.
Hi Susan it isn't a metal zipper it is a nylon one with a metal pull on it. As long as you keep the pull out of the way it is fine as you can see in the video.
Hi Pamela you would do it when you add the backing. Lay it on the front fold facing inwards, tape it in place then add the backing fabric over the top. Stay safe and happy stitching.
Hi Anne, no I leave it in and wait until it needs washing. I do wash my fabrics so they don't shrink after they are washed though. If I am gifting something I include a note saying... This item contains water soluble stabilizer, it will wash out in warm water but after only one wash it could feel a bit stiff once it dries. This is perfectly normal, until it is all washed out, so if it feels stiff wash it once more. Once the stabilizer has all disappeared it will return to it's soft and supple state again.
I just don’t like it because it tends to tear and has let me down too often, it is too unreliable especially if something has even a tiny amount of satin stitching in it . Also it isn’t very nice once you wash the item if you can’t pick it all out as it can go really lumpy. I prefer to use cut away or wash away as it either washes out completely or says in forever without breaking down and affecting the long term quality of the item. As stabiliser it is the very foundation to the end results of my embroidery I want something that does the job properly as I am paying out for batting fabric and threads and it isn’t cheap, so a failed foundation is a big waste of money and also materials so I don’t risk it just to save a few cents. The way I see it is you wouldn’t build your house without a decent solid foundation and it’s the same for embroidery. I prefer to save money elsewhere for my embroidery. To be honest I only ever use tear away if I am planning out fabric scraps for a crazy patch project as I can stitch out the fabric placement lines onto it and then cut them up and then I know what my scraps will look like together and they will be the right size. It’s personal choice. I hope this answers your question. Happy stitching.
question, on these bags, after I put on back.. it's like it is too small after taking out of hoop. the bag bows towards the back even after ironing? what am I doing wrong? It is lining up perfect with machine design.. 😢
You might be stretching your stabilizer too tight in the hoop. If you stretch it too tight when you release it from the hoop it will relax and that can cause the problem that you are describing. Your stabilizer should be held firmly in the hoop but don't pull on it when you hoop it. I know many people say it should be drum tight but I would argue that pulling stabilizer that tight stretches it and it isnt necessary. Have a look at my video on stabilizing. I will be updating this one soon to add pins around the top of the hoop and to use two layers if using wash away stabilizer but the hooping advice still stands. I hope this helps ruclips.net/video/a9OvdsTkLtU/видео.html
@@KaysCutz nope, I just put in and go, don't pull taut. I am wondering maybe because you use bond on back of your material for back? You say in video it's because you wanted a bit thicker, maybe this is actually adding that extra, so it doesn't bow?
