  • This beautiful Great Grey Owl (Lappugle, Strix Nebulosa) have been in the south part of Norway this year, usually they stay mostly in Sweden/Hedmark but because of an good mice year they have been found other places in Norway :-) I spent 3 days with this owl so it was a lot of waiting even if the video doesn't show that :-) This is an wild owl and no feeding was done while filming.

    I've been studying bird anatomy lately to help me illustrate owls and other raptors. This footage has been a great help. Seeing these beautiful creatures in slower motion is very moving.

    Wow, your videos are fantastic. What’s your opinion on the gh5 vs the gh5s, especially for wildlife filmmaking? Is there one you would recommend over the other?

    • @steinareileraasnaturefilms
      @steinareileraasnaturefilms  5 лет назад +2

      Hi John, thanks :-) I think the GH5 is best suited since you get awesome stabilization and bigger sensor which give you 1,4 extender without image loss. The GH5s have better slowmotion and lowlight but requires stabilized lenses and steady tripod/video head for long lens filming.

    • @JohnDoe-ph2wl
      @JohnDoe-ph2wl 5 лет назад +1

      @@steinareileraasnaturefilms
      Thanks for the quick reply. :) Yeah the gh5 seems a bit better suited for when you are not able to haul a heavy tripod with you. Are you using both cameras or did you switch completely to the gh5s?

    • @steinareileraasnaturefilms
      @steinareileraasnaturefilms  5 лет назад +2

      @@JohnDoe-ph2wl hi i use both yes :-) in this video i used the gh5 for portraits and gh5s for slowmotion.

      J O R D A N, seeing three owls recently is a sign of you pay more attention to your environment. Perhaps the pandemic has been good in that way. You're seeing more of what's always been around you. Enjoy! :-)

    Wow love the image quality
    I am not getting this kind of good quality while using 240fps
    Whole video shoot on 240 fps? Can we get better quality while using atmos inferno? Also can we shoot 240fps continuously in atmos inferno?

    • @steinareileraasnaturefilms
      @steinareileraasnaturefilms  4 года назад +2

      Thanks :) it was also shot in 4k50 on the Atomos. 240fps are only internal as the hdmi only support 60fp, it helps to ETTR and sharpen (low sharpening in camera) in post :)

    • @vlcheish
      @vlcheish 4 года назад +1

      @@steinareileraasnaturefilms Question...why did you use the Atmos vs the Internal? Is the quality that much better?

    • @steinareileraasnaturefilms
      @steinareileraasnaturefilms  4 года назад +1

      @@vlcheish It is much better codec, h264 Vs prores and 8 bit Vs 10bit. which gives better higlight rolloff, less banding and easier to work in post.

    • @vlcheish
      @vlcheish 4 года назад +1

      @@steinareileraasnaturefilms That makes sense. I thought the Atmos might be a pain for you to take in the wild but I guess you can just mount to the hot shoe?

    • @steinareileraasnaturefilms
      @steinareileraasnaturefilms  4 года назад +1

      @@vlcheish Yes you can mount it on the hot shoe but i mount my on the gh5 cage which is more solid and safe :-)
