Owls are known to be seen after supposed ufo abductions by many who claim to have come in contact. Not calling myself a believer or that it's true but it's interesting to think a bird as mysterious as this is tied to the extraterrestrial.
@@MichealPiksRice2 Yes, now that you mention that I remember seeing a video where the person had hypnotherapy and kept seeing the image of an owl. Upon more digging the person realized that the image of the owl was supposedly “planted” and it was really a grey alien. I am a believer but try to look for the solid cases by credible witnesses. Some of the stories told by some can come across as fantastical. I believe there is truth to some of the cases however and hopefully sometime this month the Pentagon disclosure will shed some light-but it may be wishful thinking.
I'd like to think of it more as the stealth fighter in the bird community. With the falcon being a more attack/direct joint fighter. And the pigeon is the investment banker lol.... People dont know how they can hold themselves up in the air they're so fat (with greed lol) The hummingbird is definitely the drone/helicopter of the bird community.
Pigeons are loud flyers because they're social animals, their wings are designed to alert others if one spots a predator. They can also use their wings offensively too, there are videos of pigeons slapping others with their wings.
Owls have been used as inspiration to make wind turbines more quiet. The small feathers at the trailing edge of their wings absorb the sound. In wind turbines this is sometimes mimicked by a sawtooth-pattern on the trailing-edge of the blade. It's designed to smoothly mix the air from both sides of the blade, reducing the amount of sound generated.
I remember once when I was in elementary school, someone from a wildlife sanctuary visited and brought some animals with her -- one was a big white owl. I remember her telling us how they flew silently, and then she demonstrated it by tickling the owl a little bit on its stomach until it flapped its wings. Dead silence. That was more than 40 years ago, and I still remember how impressed I was and how beautiful that owl was. Raptors are stunning creatures.
Bernardas ... a female Snowy Owl ... you can tell because the females have the black spots, whilst males are pure white. Also, females are a bit bigger than males, which is unusual for both birds in general, and owls in particular ...

Owls are one of the most underrated and yet most fascinating animals I've ever encountered. I use to sit outside and just watch this little great owl fly from tree to tree. Now that I live in the country, I am always hearing different type of owls. Beautiful birds. Very majestic.
I first had an encounter with an owl almost sundown riding my horse on the trail i did not hear it , flew out of the tree and the wing span was the width of the trail naturally we loped behind it and it was like the three of us were one one of the best feelings of my life

The only time I've ever seen a owl close in person, was late one night when I was letting my dog out to use the bathroom. When it's dark, I take a few extra seconds when I open the door to listen and look for anything unusual before stepping out. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary so I stepped out with my dog, and suddenly these giant grey wings suddenly opened up in the middle my yard and with complete silence, flew out of my yard into the sky. I was so stunned and speechless by how quiet it was. If I wasn't looking in my yard, I would have never noticed it. Owls are so cool.

The owl is the UFO of the bird community.
Or the stealth planes...
@@Wuei108 no
Owls are known to be seen after supposed ufo abductions by many who claim to have come in contact.

Awesome!
I learned something new

I remember once when I was in elementary school, someone from a wildlife sanctuary visited and brought some animals with her -- one was a big white owl. I remember her telling us how they flew silently, and then she demonstrated it by tickling the owl a little bit on its stomach until it flapped its wings. Dead silence. That was more than 40 years ago, and I still remember how impressed I was and how beautiful that owl was. Raptors are stunning creatures.
