Hello Marco, I can answer that! I am a student since 2018, but I am degree-seeking since 2020. I took foundation courses first, after the English course. To get used to the university and the system I took it slowly. I was a B1 in English in our Dutch high school, since this course I am now a B2/C1 in English. I know more English words now, and I can write higher-level papers now. I learned how to write a sentence at first, although I can already a long time, still, the course improved my writing, because we learned to write sentences for papers. Also, we went through the normal English things fastly, the grammar lessons and regular English class things, but it always added lessons on how to write papers, and how to cite sources. Eventually, you learn to write APA-style papers. So, for every discussion post, written assignment, and learning journal in any other course you know how to write that after studying this course. It improved my English officially, but I also notice it. It is easy to write papers now and cite sources. Also, it is easier to peer grade others, although the free course on peer grading I do recommend because it teaches in more detail how to peer grade others fairly. I had a great professor in that class, she was really nice and encouraged me to ask for fair grades and talk about it with her when I find I was unfairly graded. Everyone loved her in our class. She taught us in a nice way how to do the courses at the University of the People with a good writing in English. I look forward to English 2, which we can take next. I expect to become C2 in English.

I was a B1 in English in our Dutch high school, since this course I am now a B2/C1 in English. I know more English words now, and I can write higher-level papers now. I learned how to write a sentence at first, although I can already a long time, still, the course improved my writing, because we learned to write sentences for papers. Also, we went through the normal English things fastly, the grammar lessons and regular English class things, but it always added lessons on how to write papers, and how to cite sources.
Eventually, you learn to write APA-style papers. So, for every discussion post, written assignment, and learning journal in any other course you know how to write that after studying this course.
It improved my English officially, but I also notice it. It is easy to write papers now and cite sources. Also, it is easier to peer grade others, although the free course on peer grading I do recommend because it teaches in more detail how to peer grade others fairly.
I had a great professor in that class, she was really nice and encouraged me to ask for fair grades and talk about it with her when I find I was unfairly graded. Everyone loved her in our class.
