7:53: She's literally Be-elzebub, the lord of Gluttony, and one of the 7 deadly sins and you're worried about her innards? XD
24:05: The problem with Blitzo was that Bee could sense something was wrong with him and that he was causing problems on purpose. She was being nice to Loona by asking her to check on him.

Well now we know what Hobo Ryan's hell is going to be after death; he's going to be stuck in Pop-Kesha-Fennekin-Delphox Beelzebub's special musical vibe-girl hell with no escape. Forced to party or be thrown into a giant bowl of her bodily fluids while hell hounds dance a giant conga line all around him.... And maybe Stolas will be there too to say endless dirty, sleazey things to him from the side lines or over his phone.
    ...
Queen Bee has a fun personality for an evil vixen queen though.
I can think of more boring evil vixens...

16:50 It was not Bee's fault at ALL. You even correctly mentioned earlier this was immediately after Blitz's botched "date" with Stolas in the club. He was already in a god awful headspace and an emotional wreck from the end of that episode. Bee was sensing this distressing energy from him and that's why she realized his behavior wasn't healthy.
Bee feeds off the positive energy from her party guests having fun and indulging. She is literally one of the nicest people we have seen in all of hell this whole show.

The reason this episode took so long to release is because Kesha originally was going to sing the songs in this episode, but due to a super long legal battle with her old producer (I believe, don't quote me on that), she legally wasn't allowed to. So Viv got a soundalike to sing the actual music, while keeping Kesha as the voice acting of Bee. Plus, Kesha finally settled the lawsuit a couple of weeks ago, and it allowed the episode to release at long last.
Regarding Bee herself, her belly is designed to look like a lava lamp (Viv explained that her belly rapidly absorbs/burns up all the food she eats, which is why she can eat so much lol), and her design is a fusion of a bee and a fennec fox. She's fucking amazing and I'm so happy that this episode finally released.

Just a theory. Queen Bee Aka Bee-lzebub throws all of the massive parties inside of her hive. As the ruler of the Ring of gluttony, her minions are hell hounds. Gluttony is usually related to bad impulse control, and she even says in her song " I'm what you want not what you need". If there was ever an animal that personifies bad impulse control that would be dogs. Dogs will trade a bone in their mouth for the bone in your hand any day. Bee also seems to be all over the place and has poor impulse control of her own, hence the party lifestyle. Where the Sinister part comes in is I think she uses the positive party energy made by all of the people in the party to create her "honey". She even says that she is "high on this tasty energy right now". She probably wanted Blitz to leave because energy he was adding to the party was souring it. Also it was probably smart for Luna to walk away from a fight with Beelzebub. You're talking about a fight between a lowly hell hound and the Lord of the Flies. Not exactly a fair match up.

    • @jaydonmagan4694
      @jaydonmagan4694 Год назад +6

The only issue with your theory is that Bee doesn’t tell Loona to take Blitzo home. She never once says Blitzo has to leave. She only ever asks Loona to simply check and see if Blitzo is doing okay, since Bee can feel he’s surrounded by a negative energy.
If she really wanted Blitzo gone she would have kicked him out like Ozzie did to Moxxie and Millie at his club. She is the ruler of Gluttony, so no one would have batted an eye otherwise.
As for the honey bit, that could be how it works, but I really don’t think it’s anything sinister. Bee literally tells everyone at the party to keep indulging themselves in order to make her honey. The party goers know what they’re doing, so it’s more like a symbiotic relationship. Otherwise the honey might just be Bee’s word for the positive energy she feels-and gets high off of-from everyone having positive fun and being happy.

Blitz was getting drunk to drown out his sorrow, everyone else was getting drunk to have fun. Bee is actuallya very chill person, she legit gets energy from people indulging, so when she does things to make people happy she actually wants them to be happy because that's what she is all about. She is also one of the seven deadly sins so really she can do whatever the uck she wants and nobody is gonna stop her.

I have 3 theories why Bee talked to Loona:
    1. Blitzo was genuinely causing problems, and it was just off screen
    2. Bee really was being petty, just wanting to kick him out

Couple things that make this theory make sense is during the song, when the camera shows Loona clearly mouthing words to somebody, but she's not actually saying anything. I thought at first she was just too quiet to hear, but there's nothing in the subtitles either. Another is during Blitzo and Bee's challenge, when Blitzo says "is Queen Bee too scared to lose to a little imp like me?" despite her not giving any signs whatsoever that she was afraid or nervous about it. So it seems like they did have more dialogue planned at least, but probably had to cut some stuff due to the legal trouble and just wanting to release the episode faster. It doesn't take away from how much I loved the episode, but it does make me kinda sad knowing they probably wanted to do a lot more but weren't able to because of that whole situation

Yeah, had a feeling you wouldn't be a fan of this episode. Personally loved it, but that's me. I feel like the fact that this episode wasn't supposed to be a big bombshell, just a fun wrap up to the season to celebrate how far the show had come, is part of why the story isn't as strong. It's mostly meant to be a callback to the fact that Vivzie initially got attention online from doing a well animated music video to Kesha's song Die Young, so getting her to write a song and voice a character was like a full circle kind of thing.
But yeah. It's nice to finally have closure on this episode. And also it's nice to finally have it out so that all the people who say that it being held back was ruining season 2 by keeping story hidden from us when the crew has said repeatedly that this was just supposed to be fun. Basically, for people who follow the show's production, the episode was basically exactly what we expected so there isn't disappointment with it being the way it is.

Loona didn't get into a fight with Beelzebub because Loona is a Hellhound, as far as we've seen she's decently strong physically and has some very limited magical powers with her transformation and tracking abilities. Queen Bee, Beelzebub, the Lord of Flies (or Bees in Viv's universe), is a god damn physical incarnation of the sin of Gluttony, even Stolas would be fucking obliterated by her in terms of physical and magical power, and while Loona might not have realized who exactly she was at first, she probably caught on when Beel briefly transformed into a more overtly monstrous form. Even if Beel was going extremely light on Loona, not intending to physically hurt her, she very easily could accidentally kill Loona in a duel, because her level of power is downright apocalyptic, literally apocalyptic. While I'm aware that Viv doesn't fully follow biblical canon, during the Book of Revelations it takes only three of the seven lords of hell to fend off the Heavenly Hosts, the Dragon (Lucifer), the Beast of the Sea (Leviathan), and the Beast of the Earth (Belphegor). So yeah, I imagine the moment Loona realized just who she was talking to, she noped out of there right away.

Wow, so many people see Queen Bee as being well-intentioned, when to me, she was close to a straight-up villain. Maybe it's Kesha's acting being too flat that makes Bee appear so insincere. It may not have been what was intended.
She's supposed to be an empath, very socially savvy. Yet her first interaction with Loona only made her want to leave. Did she not realize she was making her extremely uncomfortable? Name-dropping like crazy, invading her personal space, putting extreme emphasis on something mundane Loona just said? I saw that interaction as Bee seeing Loona sniffing around her boyfriend and wanting her out. During that interaction she also admitted to stealing from her friends who specifically think she's a jackass for doing so. Not really someone who respects boundaries...
I didn't feel that she liked her "first time". Also, I think it's important to keep in mind that she's the one who challenged Blitzø to a drinking contest she believed she couldn't lose. That she never lost. What was she trying to do then? She wanted to humiliate him, get rid of them and remain the center of attention.
Finally, she showed her true colors and took her large form to intimidate Loona when she didn't obey her commands. Why would Bee get so agitated by the comment "because everyone likes you so much." from Loona? That's because she hit the nail on the head, pointing out her vanity. If she had good intentions, she would have reassured Loona because that came from her own insecurity. But no, Loona being insecure about her own popularity is not on Bee's mind, she just sees that as a challenge.
Was getting thrown out of the party supposed to help Blitzø? Please... Sure, he has a problem, and I fully believe Bee realized it, but she certainly didn't want it to be her problem, and I don't think she was trying to help him.

16:50 are you paying attention only to the story of single episodes and none before that or do you just judge before a conversation actually starts? She was clearly trying to tell Loona that Blitz wasn't getting wasted for fun as much as he was doing it to drown his sorrows. My only issue with this reaction. Other than that, great work. 👍
Edit: the reason why they just walked away is because Loona saw Tex's reaction and it's obvious Bee didn't want to fight to begin with. and I think the reason why Bee snapped was because Loona was not listening to her and Tex at all, and people do tend to get angry when someone else doesn't listen. and she didn't act like Blitz was the only one drunk, but he was the only one drinking for a bad reason. she wants her guests to have *fun*, not drown their sorrows. that's where the bad vibe from Blitz came from. Yes she wants people to indulge but she wants them to have fun doing it, which Blitz was not. Did you even pay attention to anything or did you really just read situations at their absolute barest minimum to the point of being almost the complete opposite of paying attention? I love your reactions but it's utterly annoying when you prove all you paid attention to was... nothing. Not even the fact all of this was happening right after Blitz's epically failed date with Stolas I think. And I think we did see some character development for Loona by hearing her FINALLY call Blitz dad. that might sound like something small to most people, but it really isn't a small change. subtle? maybe. but it's still character development.

Appreciate your honest opinion on this episode. Especially 'cause I think one's enjoyment of this episode hinges on how much they like Kesha and, by extension, her interpretation of Queen Bee. I like the character's design, and I think it was an inspired choice to make her a "vibes succubus", who tries to look after people mainly because she needs them to feel good while they're overindulging (though I think they could've been more explicit about this, it certainly seems unclear why she singles out Blitz from all other drunken partygoers until the very end).
However, I also didn't like "Cotton Candy", I found it generic and repetitive, and I think Kesha's voice acting was too flat. Also, you're right: they cut off Loona's character arc just to continue Blitz's in a bizarre choice that really seems to continue the trend of what is one of this show's biggest problems. Overall, not my favorite episode, could've been better.

Kesha's acting being too flat is likely what makes Bee appear so insincere. It may not have been what was intended, and most people do perceive her that way, but I certainly didn't.
Was getting thrown out of the party supposed to help Blitzø? Please. Sure, he has a problem, and I fully believe Bee realized it, and she certainly didn't want it to be her problem, but I don't think she was trying to help him.

I just don't get why Loona was on this party to begin with:
We know from S1 E3 that Tex already said to Loona that he has a GF, so trying to get closer to him cannot be the answer.
But then we know that her last party was also a disaster (from what we as the viewer know from) and like you said, she is at her best when she has a four eye conversation instead being in a group.
    So... I don't get it
Also, actually thank you for pointing out that b*tch joke at the beginning, because I did not get it at all and thought "wait, why is it now forbidden to swear in HELL?" But now I get it, thanks
Also also, thanks for explaining Bee's character more, now I more dislike her because of this party character like "I'm going to say nice things to you, but only because for the party and not because I care about you" Was completely blinded by that. So yeah, thanks

@@livedeadmanshe went there, cuz Tex offered her to "make some friends".
Possibly she expected that Tex will accompany her around, showijg to nice people to befriend.
And less possibly, she thought she might have a chance to get Tex away from "some girlfriend", only to face Deadly Sin of Gluttony herself.
The party turned out to be not what she expected, Tex didn't stick to her as much as she wanted, his gf was hotter and "cooler" than she could ever be (at least I bet she thought exactly that, given her lack of self esteem) - all made her Nope-out of the party.
Yet as soon as Blitz was there, and some other hunky hound showed interest in her, she felt confident again.
Yeah, the writing for this episode feels quite rushed, probably cuz it was remade, after the legal issues postponed the release for whooping 2 years (why they couldn't polish it all that time? Possibly to work on new episodes.), and they thought it would be fine, as a filler episode in addition to episode 7.
      Could be better? Totally.
But we got what we've got.

She went since she was invited, and likely thought it didn't necessarily matter if he had a GF, she could still try. But obviously when the GF ends up being Bee, one of the sins of hell, and having a great personality if you actually understand it and pay attention and don't judge people poorly for no reason *coughs*, it's kinda hard to win against that. If anything I think it's way more surprising with how kind she is given her position, and that she is dating Tex lol.

Personally, I adore Beel, besides her being hot (and me literally having a wet dream about her the night after I watched the episode), she's genuinely benevolent to an extent, for being one of the incarnations of the seven deadly sins. Gluttony is indulgence, and indulgence can certainly be a bad thing, but it can also be a good thing in moderation, and clearly, Beelzebub understands the concept of moderation as she got genuinely concerned with Blitzo when he was burying his fucked up emotional state in alcohol and sex. I get the feeling that she wasn't really faking it when she said Loona was her new favorite person, sure she probably switches between favorite people constantly because her personality radiates ADHD and a little bit of autism, but all in all, for being a demon lord, someone who outranks fucking Stolas by an order of magnitude, she's extremely benevolent. She gives people what they want and genuinely wants to make people happy, but if they're overdoing it and ruining that good vibe she steps in and makes sure that people don't get hurt at her parties. She's not 100% good, but this is hell, no one is entirely benevolent, and compared to her six other contemporaries she's very down to earth and clearly doesn't have the superiority complex that many of the other devils have. Asmodeus was mocking Stolas for sleeping with an Imp, Beel very openly is sleeping with a hellhound, considered more like slaves than people and even lower than imps in the hierarchy, and while she no doubt gets a ton of shit from the rest of Hell's society, she does not give a flying fuck about their opinions. She's overall one of my favorite characters in this show so far, moreso than Stolas, Moxxie, and Loona. Also, personally. I ship Beel-Tex-Loon (really need to work on that ship name), because we need more polyamory representation in general and this feels like the perfect opportunity, Beel would be 100% with getting down with anyone, she gives me huge pansexual vibes, Loona can be a horny bitch at times, the real question is Tex, but I think as long as Beelzebub and Loona are good with it,Tex would gladly join in.

Alright so there will be a hundred comments either trying to explain Beezel or Kesha and I already explained my opinions on the character in the discord.
I'm going to be the bold person that knows people will try to argue with me on it and explain why I think this episode feels pretty forced. It is obvious that the main purpose of this episode is to introduce Beelzebub the ruler of Gluttony and their personal interpretation on it, however it also feels evident for me that to make the concepts of the character, the homage to the music and singer behind it, give some story and conflict behind it simultaneously they made a lot of pushes and stretches in the story just to make it work. I enjoy the design but it feels like they made her a canine just to make sense of why Loona's crush would be the big momma and then give more importance to the drama. It feels like Loona's overall motives were pretty unexplained, she went to a party hoping for something and then immediately left, what was she hoping for? They didn't explain it well, but that wasn't the point, the point was to give a reason for Blitzo to also be there. They made her immediately change her mind right after JUST so Blitzo can cause problems in the party and even them the issues he was causing we're not that big or at least were not made properly clear at all.
I think the animation was impeccable, I could gush out about it a lot, I could also gush about why I enjoy their portrayal of Beelzebub but I would ramble for a while. Not the best, not the worst, it's an ok episode in my book.

Please oh please, seperate your sentences. That was difficult to read.
Also she was at the party because Tex invited her and likely had hopes of having a shot with him, despite him having a girlfriend.
She probably didn't REALLY want to go to the party in the first place, and then when she saw his girlfriend, I mean..come on. She had no chance and she knew it.
I agree with how they handled getting Blitzo there was pretty sudden and the lack of problems he caused, but yeah, not the worst.
