I sent this video to you a few weeks again because I’ve been through it. My ex-husband and I met in AA, it was very codependent, still is. This video hits so hard.
I applaud you for never drinking or smoking. It takes very strong people to do so. I also grew up in an alcoholic/addictive family. I personally couldn't handle it and started drinking my parents liquor when I was 13. I also know that the water bottle thing is absolutely accurate, I was friends with this girl who had a bad problem in high school, she would fill snapple bottles with whiskey and drink at school. This song hits hard for me personally and in relation to most of my family members.
We all have a little bit of an addiction to something in our life. For some people the drama that comes with their addiction becomes so normal that when that drama goes away they don't know what to do. They don't know how to deal with the normalcy of life. Because when you're drinking or doing drugs, you don't have to. That's why so many people go back and it is such a struggle.
It kinds makes sense about needing the drama in your life. It has a lot to do with your age. Teens seem to need it. It makes life exciting and 'meaningful.' If there is no 'drama' then you're not alive. It'll make more sense when you get a little older, Billy. Love the videos, keep them coming.
To me this song isn't just about substance abuse. For me it makes me think about someone that I once loved and how hard it is to move on. Just like being hooked on drugs, sometimes people can be just as addicting.

If your thinking about substance abuse it starts to be the metaphorical relationship they have with the substance and how they don't know how to stop taking it and how to not miss it when it's gone. They don't know how not to still want it even when they know they shouldn't have it anymore, even when they want it to be over.
Wow! I've heard the song countless times and did not see the drugs and alcohol coming! Another song that deals with this type of thing is "Smoke" by a Thousand Horses
Roll On by Alabama. It is one of my favorite songs. My dad couldn't listen to it after my great uncle died because it reminded my dad so much about him.
In my opinion you aren't missing anything by not drinking. I admire your choice not to drink due to family history of alcoholism.. I have heard that it can run in families.
As a recovering alcoholic, I relate to this song so hard. It’s like how not to keep drinking when it just consumes your life and being drunk is all you want to do. It just speaks to me
I drink occasionally (holidays and birthday), and usually 1 or 2 drinks. I have never used drugs, I saw what a 10yr addiction to crack did to my mother (she has 26yrs sober now). I swore I would never follow her footsteps, and I haven't.
I'm not an alcoholic or addict but I do know that people put vodka in water bottles or soda bottles. That way they could drink at school. Myself, I only drink 3 - 4 times a year or less.
I think it can relate to addiction because How not to drink or smoke or do drugs. It is difficult to get out of the mindset. I have never smoked in my life though. I can't see putting smoke in my mouth, it is really disgusting to me.
One year into my sobriety it was the hardest battle of my life and I was in such a bad place before I put down the bottle. I'm thankful to be here today 🙏 Also, You're the man Billy! Love your videos
Unfortunately my mom passed away from alcoholism, once she finally decided to quit it was too late, this video is hard to watch because it reminds me of my mom, I love and miss her everyday

In my opinion you aren't missing anything by not drinking. I admire your choice not to drink due to family history of alcoholism.. I have heard that it can run in families.
As an alcoholic who met her husband in a rehab facility, I can tell you it's the hardest thing we've both been through
I used to carry a plastic water bottle filled with vodka every shift and would drink more in my car on my breaks. Addiction is awful

You shouldn't hook up in rehab because you are just trading one addiction for another and adding another enabler.
