Very good demo. I prefer the BK9, 76 keys versus 61, it does a good job on the B3 tone wheel, but the sax is a little bit better on the Korg. They are both great. It's really preference. I just picked up the BK9 and it really performs well. Getting around the OS takes a little getting used to but like everything, practice, practice.
Great demo !! I have the BK-9 and i love it !! You cannot compare with the Tyros 5 which costs so expensive !!!! and doesn't give everything Roland Bk-9 gives ! I know that cuz i had bought the Tyros 5 first to finally sell it away once i had the opportunity to try the BK-9. Some functions of the BK-9 are not availaible on the Tyros 5 (chord loop live, you can loop audio files and sync them with the tempo etc...) ! The choice is simple for a very good price !! That's all !
+Fred Villaume I totally agree. I bought the 76 keys Version of Tyros-5 in 2014. It has fantastic facilities and functions, but it sounds too cheesy in my opinion. The drums are too smooth and boring. Roland uses their excellent V-drums system. And I really like the organ part. Purchased it yesterday, so much does remain before I`ve tested it all. But great first impression!!!
Yes, you are right. Tyros 5 doesn't feel so much real as the roland bk 9 does. And here in India, Tyros5 costs about Rs.5,15.000 which is too much for an arranger. I like the Roland arrangers as they are not so much heavy and to big for being called " PORTABLE'' and they are more cost efficient.. The bk 9 is around Rs 1,85,000 and feels too good to play ..The one thing which the Tyros 5 gives something nice is the large colour screen..nothing else .. Yamaha always try to improve their styles but actually.. they are making it more worse!!
Me too. I bought it when they first came out. I have a lot of Roland gear including the AX-Synth and old 2080 sound modules. Even a Roland FR7 Accordion which is very cool with 22 synth voices. The BK9 provides a full band for me to add to.
I like the Korg pa 600 it's amazing and I like the the roland bk9 as well. There is a roland keyboard that is also good it is the "Roland Juno Di" perhaps you might find that keyboard more to your liking or needs. go check it out.
I don't have Bk9 anymore. I bought a Yamaha PSR S970. it's really easier to use with its big color screen and sounds very good. It's getting more difficult to find a BK9 to buy, most of shops don't sell it away anymore in France. Now, Roland proposes the EA7 which sounds also good but keys are smalls and most of all, Roland has not done anything to fix the recognition of sus2 chords which can't be played on the Bk9 as well.
Thanks for the great demo!! what do you think about bk9 and bk7m? are they comparable? I have the RD700nx and I would like to get the Bk7m for the arranger function, is it in your opinion a good idea? Thanks
both very good obviously the bk9 about double the price so its probably not the best comparison, its going to come down to what suits the individual, whether you need 76 keys and speakers built in or not and of course budget ! also the styles are quite different and have a different feel so that will come down to personal preference.
Then BK-9 with Tyros 4. I'm surprised to see that Roland finally managed to make some better sounds than before. But i didn't see much in this video, cuz most of the sounds were synths and not instruments, so then the comparison cannot be made yet! Its required a direct comparison from of the same / appropiate sounds.
Whats the best value fopr money K'bd similar to Technics KN 6500, that is 1) easy to use 2) clarity/quality sounds etc; ( your comparison of 750 & PA600 showed that yamaha drums did n't com[pare well for clarity with the Korg, somewhat mushy) 4) easy to access/recall songs & styles in a live situation 5) light weoight , 61 keys, preferably with speakers built in for own monitoring etc; etc; under 1000GBP?
It has 4 functions. I suggest you download the BK9 manual free from Roland at www.roland.com/us/support/by_product/bk-9/owners_manuals/96b1c174-271b-4c19-b697-8ab13dc9b105/ See Page 54 in the manual where it discuss D-Beam.
Guys u cannot compere bk9 and pa600.Bk9 is the best model of Roland and pa600 is intermediate model of Korg and Roland's tones are better than Korg if we are talk about Eu and US. If u want to play arabian-greek-bulgarian-Turkish tunes ok u should buy a Korg but its also shouldnt be pa600.Maybe 800 or 2x-3x. If u compare bk5 and pa600 it make sence but bk9 has diffirent situation.. Regards
I had one many years ago. It certainly was very good at the time it came out. But in the end it had a slow OS, some glitches, and one felt it could do a lot more than it really did, but they didn't developed it. Instead, they went bankrupt.
Korg arranger keyboards have a technology called "DNC and RX" which makes their sounds class apart from all other arrangers !! love the guitars ,strings and trumpets of korg,, they sound super realistic.. whereas only in pianos korgs have a downside ! Roland , yamaha and higher range Casio have better piano sounds than korgs !!
Big deal... My Roland is older but very good (3500 sample voices, 600 styles, 4 variations per style, 76 velocity sensitive keys, 128 notes polyphony)..... The only difference is that is heavy and has no USBs........... so what...............
Finally a better Grand Piano from Roland! All of the Piano sounds from Roland sounded like shit always, i've watched many of their arrangers and i was extremely dissapointed, but this one is better. Not the best, its just a little better.
to luis fernandez - Roland bk 9 is like a toy:) Yamaha Tyros 5 is min. 3 steps over Roland bk 9. I have tested both bk9 and Yamaha tyros 5 which I have already bought. Roland bk9 is worse than va3!
YAMAHA ???? Yamaha in playing styles, with different types of chords (major, minor, septima ..) does not distinguish variations of chords !!! Chord recognition is OK, but it can not make a piped style change in another variation of chord (major, minor, septima). All are played the same way . This accompaniment style then sounds simple, machine-poor, poor.
I played BK-9 and I've been surprise about the quality of sound and styles...really good
I think, this is the BEST video demonstration of synhesizer, that I've see in my life! Great! Applause from me!

I Love it this Keyboard

How do you feel, this roland bk 9 vs roland bk 5 ? there is different sound output quality ?
the sound quality of the bk-9 is higher than the bk-5. I had both. ROM wavetable memory is more in BK-9 and it's audible.
со второй минуты прослушивания отпадает желание дальше слушать....а начало всё-таки интриговало))
How much price in India
Regarding arranger keyboards, roland's got nothing on korg or yamaha
