I am a happy owner of a HQ 2000 6020 that was tossed away because it ran on full speed all the time even without connecting the speed pedal .. it was easily repaired and it works like a charm .. :) if You can get Your hands on one for a decent price then do not hesitate ... the 2000 series is one of the best in the world.
I'm glad you enjoyed my video on the Husqvarna Viking 2000 - a Swedish Beauty! Enjoy, and check out my other videos on other Swedish models. Thanks....Scott
Yes CROSSPECANS, I do service all makes and models, and feel particularly comfortable working on Swedish models like the 6440. If I can be service, please let me know......thank you
Great Vitoria, I'm so happy my video helped! Please check out my other videos relating to this amazing Swedish machine, and encourage others to subscribe to my channel...many more videos to come. Thank you, Scott
Why didn't you present perhaps the most remarkable feature of that machine, 1:5 slow gear? Or didn't you know it has one? Many sewers don't know it, even Husqvarna owners. I have occasionally sewed perhaps 20xdenim equal material with it, perhaps much more. It is possible, but of course starting to reach the limits of domestic machine. Then it is difficult to stuff that much material under the presser foot, also line tension mechanism and needle guidance start to become limiting factors.... Slow gear makes sewing difficult parts of the work much easier also. It is a fine vintage sewing machne, one of the best there is. And still very usable of course.
Hi Bekanav, Thanks for your comment, and yes, I am familiar with the gear reduction feature on this model - offered on many models made by Husqvarna Viking. To some this feature is remarkable, but I actually find the auto-clutch disengagement more fascinating. While there are benefits to this feature, like adding gears to a bicycle, a properly serviced and restored machines can perform equally as well......as evidenced in video after video on this channel. Good sewing.....Scott
This is my favorite sewing machine, I love the beautiful shape and the way it sews, it purrs like a kitten! However, my instructionbook is unfortunatley not complete. Pages have been torned out or torned apart. Is it in some way possible to get it in PDF somewhere? So I can download it? Thank you!
+Bettan Andersson - The best place I found to get this manual in PDF: www.sewingmachinemanual.net/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/viking/Viking_2000_Instruction_Manual.htm They also have other Viking manuals for both Instruction and Service.....Good sewing, Scott
Hello Scott.I just acquired a Viking 6020 and found your video really helpful. I have scoured the Internet and cannot find a user guide for this machine. The link you have is for a 2000 6020 which isn't what I have. All I need is a basic guide to threading the needle and properly inserting the bobbin. I've been quilting for 15 years so not a novice but so far can't figure it out. Do you have any videos that cover this or do you have even a schematic to show me how? It is most appreciated. Thank you.
h-e-l-p. I have a Viking 6570, yesterday it started to smoke. I pulled the circuit board to find a charred unit. Can you help me indentify this charred part and how to carry out repairs? I will supply photo's ofcourse. thanks
+Kar Ser - Sounds like you need to replace the motor board. Here's a link for a replacement part currently being sold on Ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/272053877632?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
thank you! I have an identical model in the same colour and all, except mine is just Husqvarna 2000, and not viking. And well I had forgotten how to tread the machine haha, so thanks! x) I live in Sweden btw. :p I wish you had show us how to tread the little tread under the sewing machine too. Because I can't get that tread to work. ._.
hi i have just acquired a husqvarna practica it seems to be very aged my problem is the shuttle basket falls out when the machine is running can someone please help
Dear Deiann - When you slide your bobbin carrier in, make sure you are inserting it with the release fully open, then snap in place. If you are simply trying to slide the carrier in with the release closed, it may appear to lock, but is not. You can add a light coat of machine oil to the release to allow easier function. Good sewing, Scott
