  • The ten winners of the 2023 Writers’ Trust McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize are some of the most talented emerging Black writers in the country and we are proud to promote them through this year’s #WTAmplifiedVoices campaign.
We’re excited to give you a preview of the stories and inspiration behind the stories in this video, featuring clips from the exclusive audiobook.
For over three decades, the Writers’ Trust McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize has prided itself on showcasing the best short fiction by Canada’s most exciting emerging writers, and this year, for the 33rd edition, we are excited to be amplifying the voices of Black writers who have historically been marginalized by systemic inequality, including within the publishing ecosystem.
Pick up a copy of the 33rd Journey Prize Stories to read winning writing by Christina Cooke, A.Z. Farah, Zilla Jones, Sarah Kabamba, Téa Mutonji, Lue Palmer, Terese Mason Pierre, Jasmine Sealy, Dianah Smith, and Iryn Tushabe. Congrats to all writers selected by jurors David Chariandy, Esi Edugyan, and Canisia Lubrin.
