you can make an emergency version where you put a bullet weight and use a small split shot. ill do that when ive already been throwing texas rig for a while, just clamp on the split shot

that knot you tied is a regular fishermans knot i believe, the Uni knot the tag end comes through the top, but good video and information my friend i was able to learn some stuff

I use the floating worms & biggest hook which allows it to still float well. Bass luv it. Want to work it slow so worm can still float back up or stay up.

You can also rig with a bobber stop. Two less knots and adjustable

While not as "trendy" these days in the south as it used to be, its a tactic I still use frequently during the dog days of summer when the fish are in deeper waters.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Regardless of trends, it's definitely a classic technique, great to hear that you're still finding success with it! 🎣

How to apply in salt water also bait can use

You could adapt it for saltwater fishing, try using heavier weights and stronger leaders to handle the conditions and fish size. For baits, try using soft plastics that mimic local prey like shrimp or baitfish. Live bait is always a solid choice when fishing in saltwater too. Tight lines! 🌊

    That’s a fluke style bait(maybe a caffeine shad)…not a paddle tail.

He also should've told people to be careful with the weight you use, especially when putting it on braid, because braid isn't as abrasion resistant as mono. I don't like putting any knot on braid unless I'm using split shots on like 3lb nano braid for trout. Even then I use a flouro leader and put the split shot on the flouro, and I usually use at least 6' of flouro for the leader because of the braid's higher visibility to the trout. I don't think I've ever used a Carolina rig when using braid. I might have done it once or twice, but I can't remember doing it.

That was not a uni knot. That was a clinch/fisherman's knot.
