  • In this video I review a high end collectible item from the Star Wars Saga: EFX Collectibles Darth Vader Helmet Legend Edition. This prop replica was produced in 2011 and was made to look like the film used prop by going into the Lucasfilm archives and finding the original molds to create the infamous Darth Vader Helmet in Star Wars A New Hope. Originally using Ralph McQuarrie's Concept design, Sculptor Brian Muir put together the helmet that is now the most recognized villain in cinema history. When EFX Collectibles announced on the website that a few of these helmets were found in the warehouse and for sale I took the chance to get my hands on a part of cinema history.

The Star Wars: Episode IV -A New Hope Darth Vader Helmet is so iconic! I believe you made a good decision by working with EFX to get the Legend Edition. Great review!

Great to see a video from you again. Great piece, glad you didn't settle and got exactly what you want. Thanks for putting out this review.

Personally I prefer my limited edition helmet. I like the idealised cleaned up version more than the roughed up one.

Just FYI: the original ANH helmet used three Apple II computer "tabs" to connect the helmet to the face mask, not velcro.

You might be thinking a later version as the Apple II wasn't even released when they filmed the movie.

I think "we just found......" is a marketing ploy. Surprised they didn't bag it before putting it in the foam.

Tesla is absolutely right. The Legend edition has been cleaned up still. The C scar is part of the helmet and it has remained on many authentic casts. I have one and you can see bumps as to where the scar is at. But there is more that was cleaned up and removed. On top of that the gunmetal paint is far to clean. The original had a ton of scrapes and paint chips all over it from being rushed and used.

Why is the helmet silver instead of gray?

It's beautiful. But I find it strange and hard to believe that it looks unfinished under side of the helmet.

100% how the original helmet was. The real ones when you see them up close are pretty sloppy, but beautifully so.

Hi! I'm still watching your cool Vader video and will resume "play" soon. Just wanted to blurt out laughing that I soon realized 2:53 seconds into your clip that you weren't ever gonna tell us how much you paid for your ultimate choice Darth V Helmet. It's okay, we feel you, Man. I'm pretty sure you had to to give up your Apartment , the Nissan, and your Girlfriend for this cool SithLord Prop. Come see me when you're ready for a Custom Bust-Size Display "ANH" Outer Cape and Sith Surcoat Inner Robe that goes under Episode IV Darth Vader's Armor. #DesignerTJP

The ME from SFX are badly modified recasts. The dude is a liar and gets off by fueling drama with other people. I was one of them. His helmets are not what he claims. They are just poor recasts with a decent finish.
