    Thanks for the detail shots in the end. Overall, it looks really nice. I see some issues with it though. The dome on the right side (the wearer's right) has a strange bend toward the chin (should be straighter). The masking for the paint on there right cheek is a little sloppy (should go more towards the edge)...but compared to other "screen accurate" ESB Vaders, the Skunkworks one does look really good overall. Also, the mesh pattern in the eye-lenses was not used in the screen used helmet, but more a modern treatment. (I'm a Vader nut here in California with a few screen accurate helmets). :) Enjoy!

    Now I know where to get a decent bucket from, how about the soft parts? I have the chest armor and box, belt and shins so far. It's clear that to get 501st approval, you really have to spend the money to get a great looking costume. I've been looking at Fenix Props in Argentina and they're a company I've seen mentioned countless times as being one of the main ones to get accurate, great quality costume parts.

    • @TisDansk

      Id say the best place to learn about all things vader is the Sith Lord Detachment. They will give you many recommendations that are reliable. Most vaders get their under suit from fenix. For the gloves there are lots of vendors that are better than fenix. The codpiece for fenix, while approvable, isnt necessarily the best for the cost. You could DIY your own or find a vendor. The cape and inner robe for fenix also isnt the best. Id recommend KJB (kelly jo boyd) or kev vader (on SLD). However, I would highly recommend joining the SLD, reading other WIPs for the particular version of vader you want to do, and make a vendor list for each part you need to buy. However, do not buy anything without asking SLD members about that thing first. It is easy to get scammed when in the process pf buimding your vader. Good luck!!! If you have joined since commenting on this video, Great!

      There are two versions Bookface sells, quasimoto and darth ugly. Im not sure the version this guy has, but darth ugly is the more affordable option, being around $560 for a finished version. Im not sure how much quasimoto costs but I remember it was around $800 for a finished version. This is excluding that most people buy the helmet with the shoulder armour so the paint matches, adding around $400. This also excludes shipping btw

      @@TheJimyyy The best is arguable. To be honest his masks are still missing several details small dents and such. But thats how it is, very few masks are perfect and have everything. Sadly hand molding these is not a precise repetitive certainty of accuracy. 3d printing is quickly surpassing these old techniques. Perfectly accurate each time, a simple tweak to the model and all others from there on are updated and fixed rather then a hand crafted bit u have to remember and get just right. The mask I'm currently having made for my ANH build was done so by starting with a base ANH model and after scanning other physical replicas, tweaking adding details they didn't have etc will be the most accurate mask to date more than likely. After words Mike will be set to dominate with a much easier/quicker/cheaper/lighter/ & consistently perfectly accurate to what is known.
      It's a bit disgusting really, various crafters have done a lot to hide and hold back info from those developing the 3d printing just so they can hold onto clients. They know their screwed the days of charging 800+ for ONE costume piece are coming to and end as we can mass produce them perfectly at a much faster rate than any hand crafter could dream of. I'm proud to say I'll be the first fully 3d printed vader good riddance to over charging and locking this to middle class and up to enjoy.

      @@TheJimyyy Sounds like your just pissy. Disprove it. Go out spend the money like I did on the various masks, do the research, the scans... Then in 5 years when you know some shit and by then 3d printing has taken over come talk to me. Till then, shhh. Btw the R1 Mask is completely different then ANH. From paint to mold, it's very different.

    • @TisDansk

      @@AMsCantina if money is an issue most sellers sell kits where you can finish it yourself at a somewhat affordable price. Also there hasnt rlly been a screen accurate vader stl produced yet though I know several people in the SLD working on one. 3D printing helmets are less durable than fiberglass, especially pla which is prone to warping easily in heat, making just 3d printing helmets suitable for trooping highly difficult.

      @Cosplay Vicar again calling accurate looks foolish... once again, accuracy to the original screen used ESB is NOT subjective. it's either accurate to that prop or its not! strong dislike for you not sharing the cost of this entire kit. if somebody truly aspired to wear a Vader kit the cost wouldn't scare them away no matter how steep the number is. making an entire 10 minute video only to NOT reveal the cost simply makes you another person who is in the way to those who may have wanted to troop or even collect this kit.

    • @Cosplayvicar
      @Cosplayvicar  Год назад +2

      Hang on. Firstly - “strong dislike for you”. Interesting you made it personal. How can you dislike someone you have never met and you don’t know their heart. I’ve been making videos on cosplay for a number of years and clearly on them I state I’ve done everything on a budget. Where I can make myself I do. I don’t share the cost as I don’t want to be the guy who says this is the only way to make a costume. I also don’t think it is helpful. Firstly the makers put their prices up all the time. If I bought on a sale then what I paid isn’t reflective of the true cost anyway. If you want to know the price there is a link. Look it up. I certainly not in the way and want to help more people to get involved. I suggest you watch some of my other video’s and then apologise for being so rude.
