Although I understand the need for a costume to be as movie accurate as possible, I have found from my experiences with the U.K. Garrison, that they can be more than a little nit picky, finding issues that are relatively trivial. I’ve also found that they are not particularly forthcoming when it comes to sourcing accurate costume parts. Up until I saw your video of your Vader helmet unboxing, I had no idea that Skunkworks is actually based right here in the U.K.
Thanks for the comment. It can certainly feel like that but it’s all the little tweaks that make the costumes really stand out. Before I joined I didn’t see the point of all the changes but now really appreciate the work.
I had an RS Propmaster TK molded from an actual suit used in A New Hope and my local “garrison” wouldn’t accept me because they only took “Battlefront” TKs… glad to see out in the UK they aren’t as elitist!
RS are totally solid kits. We love those here. Screen accurate and built well. I don’t get why they would not be welcomed. Did you find other places to wear?? Another club?

That should not happen though, GMLs (those who check costumes for accuracy) don't get to choose what costumes they want or not. If there is a CRL for that costume on the 501st legion website, and you match it's criterias, you can join the legion. Plain and simple.
Yeah, this story doesn't add up. I've been in the 501st for 8 years and RS is the gold standard in terms of stormtrooper armor. My guess is this is probably a misunderstanding, which happens A LOT in this hobby!

I am taking a shot in the dark here, if you are apart of the 501st I have a major question. If you have played the half life game do you know about the combine? If so, do you think it is possible to alter the 501st stormtrooper amplifier set sold on etsy to sound like a combine soldier?
Sadly I have no knowledge of that character. The best route is to find your local garrison and ask to speak with a armourer. Also find the CRL for the character on the 501st website. That will also give you some direction.
It sounds a bit like a combine indeed, although they speak giberish (from memory) so it's hard to tell. Plus their voices are quite heavily distorded. Surely their is a voice soundboard somewhere with that profile or those voicelines straight from the game.

I joined the garrison just yesterday, and I plan to order one of RSPropmasters ESB suits. I've put out a message asking for an armourer to tell them my plan before I order it. I'll keep you updated on what happens.
There are so few costumes that you can buy off the shelf and be screen accurate sadly. BUT we have some amazing armours who hep you through the process. What costume are you thinking about?
Sounds like you are doing a lot of hard work. It will be something you really enjoy to wear!! The UKG will certainly help get you through the process. I’d encourage you to get on the forum.

If it looks like in the movie then whatever it's made of is fine. That being said getting foam to look like the armors from the movies might be challenging (if possible at all, I have never seen one).
@@DadVader If it is is a matter of justifying the cost keep in min there are are other costumes mostly non armored like the Imperial Officer that can be done for much less money and get your foot in the door. Armor can come later

Hi Henry. I am so sorry to read this. I’m presuming it’s been your experience. For me it’s been a really welcoming and caring group who have looked out for me through the highs and lows of life. I’ve not come across bullies in the Garrison. In the UK Garrison we often have troops in rural areas. My cape was covered in grass for my 2nd troop this summer in a country fair.
@@Cosplayvicar yes, my experience, my husbands experience and several more. Yet, the Legion sat back and lowed Garrison command to harass and bully us until we quit. We were the only individuals to do our events in our area with ZERO help or support from Garrison or Legion commands. Even Garrison command showed up to our last local library comic con and was rude to me, my husband, our Vader we had there and also our library rep who finally had to say she’d join to get him to leave her alone. He didn’t come in kit, he only came to be a pain. Did the legion do anything about it? NO! Instead, the legion allowed the bullies to continue with harassing trials against us. My husband did nothing to anyone but turn in constant bullying on the Garrisons Facebook page. But because the individuals are either spouses or friends of Command, nothing was done except the punish,ent of my husband. The legion has sat back and done nothing to this day, and they still refuse to fix these issues. The 4 corner States Garrisons only focus on the major cities, no where else in their respective states. We had only a few people from around the state come to a few of our events, but none were command helping or supporting the events. I’ve never seen any command support rural events.
