In 2024, BYD introduced the Tang DM-i, an innovative plug-in hybrid SUV designed to blend performance and efficiency seamlessly. Under the hood, it boasts a 1.5T 139 horsepower L4 engine complemented by a robust 218 PS electric motor. Power is managed via an E-CVT continuously variable transmission, ensuring smooth and responsive handling across various driving conditions.
In terms of electric capability, the Tang DM-i offers a commendable pure electric cruising range of 112 kilometers, providing drivers with flexibility and eco-conscious driving options. Acceleration is equally impressive, with the SUV capable of reaching 0-50 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, showcasing its agility on the road.
With dimensions measuring at 4870 mm x 1950 mm x 1725 mm and a wheelbase of 2820 mm, the Tang DM-i offers ample space for up to seven passengers, making it an ideal choice for families or those who prioritize passenger comfort. Furthermore, it comes equipped with a range of luxurious features, including a 50W smartphone wireless charging pad, massage function for front seats, and ventilation and heating for both the first and second row seats.
Charging the Tang DM-i is convenient, with both fast and slow charging options available. While specific charging times may vary, drivers can expect efficient charging experiences to keep them on the move. Additionally, the SUV comes with a comprehensive warranty covering six years or 150,000 kilometers, providing peace of mind to owners.
One of the standout features of the Tang DM-i is its powertrain configuration. It utilizes a 160 kW (214 hp) electric motor in the front, delivering a peak torque of 325 Nm for responsive acceleration and dynamic performance. This electric motor is paired with a 1.5T ICE boasting 102 kW of power, creating a harmonious blend of electric and internal combustion power for an exhilarating driving experience.
