I love these pants. A girl can sew five pair of these, different patterns and colors and mix and match them with solid color tops for a beautiful wardrobe. Great tutorial.
I am so glad that I ran across your video for these pants. I'm in the process of making a pair of knit pants with an elastic waist but since I watched your video I'm going to put a yoga waist on them. I'm in love with your idea and I plan on using it for all of my pants! Like you I have a thick waist line and have a belly and I love being comfortable in my pants so this is going to work just fine for me! Thank you so much and I look forward to watching more of your videos!🙂🥰👍
Hi Stephanie, I was searching for a sewing video to watch and happened upon this one. I watched because I fell in love with and bought the same fabric as your top in the video. I figured we're kindred spirits. :-) Love the yoga band instead of elastic option for the pants.
This was such a great instructional video, you are such a fun teacher. I now have to watch your yoga waistband video as I too have a large waist. Just to make you laugh in grade school the belt on my uniform was always tight where the other girls had to pin theirs. Things have never changed! You are such a joy to watch and love your chats! Happy Sewing!
I’ve not watched you before, this just came up on my recommendations, and I’m so glad I watched. I’ve been sewing for years, but not pants because of an unfounded fear of not getting the correct size. The yogawaist hint made my decision.
I love easy projects. I struggle with going through instructions. I don't wear pants, but I do like seeing how they are made because I will make a pair of pajama pants, but no pants to wear outside of the home.😅
Hi Stephanie. I love, love, love this video. I'm so glad that it came up in my feed. So many tips, and practical guidance and advice. Wow. I am a newbie sewist from Kingston, Jamaica. (Hi! 👋) This was actually the very first pattern that I bought and then I was so intimidated by the whole thing that I haven't made anything from it ... yet. Watching this, I am so encouraged. I think my fear was rooted in using the stretchy fabrics but this gives me real hope. Now I'm definitely going to try it. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I appreciate it and I love your wonderful spirit which just shines through. And now I am your newest subscriber! Thanks, Stephanie. 🙂
I do the double pin thing too! A tip I saw somewhere else (I forget where now) was to serge the bottom of the pant (or top) and then turn it up and hem, instead of folding it in. It gives a finished edge so your hem is flatter. I really like the way the second pair fits, but they both look great! See you Friday!
I love how you talk about fixing the pattern for any changes before you put it away. I need to get much better at that. What a pain if you forget to fix the pattern and the. Make the garment again.
This is why I love stretchy fabrics. So much easier to get a comfy fit! This year I really want to work on showing how to fit our tummy when it doesn’t conform to those horrible size charts. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hello Stehanie .....I just found your wonderful site and really enjoy your clear way of instructing. I look forward to coming back to it again and again.🎉🎉🎉
I really loved your tutorial. You did a great job. I am a never sewer clothing gal. This has made me not scared to try this make. Thank you. Thank you will be definitely be following you
Thanks Stephanie.. that will be a big help with the yoga waist band.. I think both pr look great.. have a great day.. "See" you on Friday Love your chats
A great big THANK YOU…for this very informative video… I learned so much…I have this pattern. Love the yoga pants waist ☺️👏💕 How did I only just find you ? Xx
Hi, I just fount your channel and this video was so great the step by step and follow along was so easy, I love the hang out and sew concept ❤ your character is so unique 😊, brilliant teaching so thank you, definetly subscribing
Very helpful video that can be used for any similar pants pattern, thank you Stephanie! I have a yoga waist pattern piece from a pair of leggings I love & will use that. These both look great on you & look so comfy!
Ty ty ty Stephanie!! I love how easily you explained it to us. Omg I know it's not easy making these videos but are greatly appreciated!! I would love to see the shirt video if you ever plan on making it ❤😅
Stephanie this was sooo good and helpful. I am a long time sewist but still got alot of great info and enjoyed watching the process!!! Thst was awesome!
I can so relate to your sizing with your waist. I have the very same situation and I range from a size 20 top to a 24/26 waist. I had to learn some pattern alteration techniques and its been tricky to figure that out. I’ve had better results when making tops but I’ve been hesitant to try pants because that’s a whole different situation. Thank you for this video and a pattern with some real potential.
Hi Stephanie, that too is this one: ruclips.net/video/00zNsO-d_Z0/видео.htmlsi=bC87n02HwwrB2gU3 I just love it!! Super easy!! ❤❤❤ I need to do a sew along for this one too!! 👚
I love the fabric you used for the ‘real’ pair! So pretty. Did you make the tee shit from that pattern by any chance? How did you go with the neck band. Mine was terribly small. I had to cut a longer one to get it to fit. Pain in the backside it was.
???? Love your video!! I was wondering if you would consider showing the best way to shop for quality stretch fabric? I have a hard time sewing it because it constantly shifts and curls up. Maybe I’m buying too cheap a fabric or the wrong kind.
Hi Janet, most of my fabric hauls contain knits. Some are from online stores. I love double brushed poly, dbp, it’s been so dependable for me. I also love the fashion knits from Joann, it’s also dbp, but they don’t call it that. Good luck!! I’d love to know how yours turn out. ❤
It looks “jagged”, and is probably near your zig zag. If you have your manual, you should be able to look it up. It’s a good stitch to know for stretchy fabric. 👏🏻👏🏻
Stephanie I love this video but your overhead camera is too high and it’s too hard to see what you are doing…… I love that fabric and I prefer yoga waistbands Thanks to you!,, that’s where I learned how to do them now it’s yoga waistbands all the way on every pant!!! 👍 Happy Sewing Virginia in Arkansas 😉

Hi Beverly, you are going to love it!! It’s great on skirts too!! So comfy and looks much nicer than a too tight waist band. ❤️❤️❤️
Ive not see anyone show how to match and ease in the waste band for the yoga waste band like that but im definitely using that tip! Thanks

Thanks for explaining the pick a knit rule. When I went to Joann's the other day to get fabric the employees had no idea what that was!

Stephanie this was sooo good and helpful. I am a long time sewist but still got alot of great info and enjoyed watching the process!!! Thst was awesome!

You don’t really have to turn in the 1/4” on the hem for knit fabric. Sometime it is too bulky.
That’s good advice!! ❤❤❤

What does the "stretch " stitch on the machine look like?
It looks “jagged”, and is probably near your zig zag. If you have your manual, you should be able to look it up. It’s a good stitch to know for stretchy fabric. 👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Stephanie, I watch your videos all the time but, never comment. I have a question: How do you set your serger to make the stitches so stretchy?
Hi Wanda, it’s just the regular setting, it’s naturally stretchy. No special settings. ❤
What type of knit fabric, polyester knit, Lycra?
The second pair was double brushed poly. The first pair was a mystery. Lol😂
@@FarrellFocus lol, thanks, gotta love that surprise fabric we have around
What paper are you using to trace the pattern?
I got my paper on a roll from wawak.com I hung it on the wall. Very handy and it will probably last my whole life…lol. 😊
