I was lucky enough to find a ‘92 WC s10 fully rebuilt near me for $400 for my hotrod build. Not the best price but these are getting harder to find nowadays
@@SatansChoice Correct. The 93 S10 is the only year with a Muncie pattern WC T5 but the case was cast in 1992 for the 1993 production year. The WC was also in the 1988-92 Camaro/Firebird.
Thanks a lot i have a 1995 s10 4x4 that was either a automatic or a 1995 world class speed but someone has swapped i believe a 1993 into it i hit the dash 1st and 3rd everytime i swapped the top of a 1995 transmission on it but i couldnt get a single gear
Hi there, I'm trying to find out if there are any differences between a 2wd and 4wd transmission. I've got access to a 5 speed from a 2wd 92 s10 and I want to swap it out for my '83 s10 blazer.
@@Lugnutz65is the only difference from the world class and non world class is the speedo and what would I need to take from the world class truck to make it work in a older non world class truck
@@user-wv9us2uy4n 1989-1993 S-10 T5 transmissions use an electronic sender for the speedometer. You should be able to swap transmissions within those years without any issue. A non-world-class transmission has different parts on the inside, but functionally is the same.
@@Ju5ticeDad My understanding is that a SBC bell will bolt directly to a 4.3 engine. You will have to measure the distance needed for the input shaft. I am not sure if the input shaft will need to be trimmed or not. I am not familiar with the bolt pattern used to bolt a transmission to a 4.3 bell.
Non-world class is rated for less HP than the world class versions but the difference is minimal. A T5 is great for normal driving but doesn’t take abuse. Some have better gear combinations than others depending on your rear axle gear.
@@Lugnutz65How would you know which is the best gear combination? I have a 7.5” rear end on 3.42’s on my 1993 Sonoma. I have been looking for a transmission but none that are available is WC. One is but when looked up the tag it read 1352-221 which shows that it was mated to a 2.5 Iron Duke(4 Cyl) would that matter or make a difference? But it is World Class & it’s a 93’

Yes. Hard to find. It’s a great transmission for a daily driver. I have one in each of my trucks.
I thought 93 was the only year they put WC T5 in the first gen S10 ? you sure it was a 92 and not a 93 ?

A 1995 world class 5 speed is what it was supposed to say
I have 1963 f100 y block 292 , just found a t5 156775 88V. 1352-216 88 tag any suggestions for it Thanks great video!
You might need an adapter plate to get it bolted to the bell housing.

Yes, the tail housing and main shaft are different (I think). The gearing might be different too. Good luck!

We are swapping to a 4.3 can we use the 4.3 bell housing on the 2.8 5speed

which model year has a 14 spline input shaft
1993 and earlier S10 T5s have 14 splines. Also the 1992 and earlier V6 Camaro T5 but the tail housing has the shifter in a different location.
Yes and so did the manual gmc safari they made very little of
