I'd have to agree with the majority of comments on here & say that 18m is unnecessary - ok i get your just highlighting the fact that its a very well manufactured & balanced pole at long or excessive distance but promoting the pole mainly on this market of 'strength at length' has somewhat backfired to a long list of negative comments.. the fact is it is a quality pole & i know lads that use them in Ireland in any weather conditions on loughs, Canals & Rivers & they will tell you; if you have money to spend on a life time pole look no further than the Daiwa Airity.. You would struggle to find an Irish angler fish beyond 13m with a pole, as short feeder is becoming more & more popular.
interesting video if your into the finer details of manufacturing but very little interest to the majority of anglers unfortunately.

Ha Ha ,, Six people here who have not fished with a pole, seven with the commenter that platform or dugout, has a high bank at the back of a angler, it would mean , to ship the pole back , which is a very frequent move, he would have to stretch his arms vertical over his head, and break down the sections,. Where has , on the bank top , he can manoeuvre the pole in comfort, It is just a choice,, the dug out bank would suit a rod angler.

I'm going to take a punt and suggest you're American? Here in Europe, we have very different species and venues compared to the States. Long pole fishing like this was originally developed to catch lots of small fish from wide industrial canals and most often in competitive match fishing. More recently, it has been used to effect in catching large numbers of carp at fishing venues with overhanging features on the far or near bank. 16 metres offers anglers the chance to present baits and tackle in the trickiest of spots.
