I remember when the dolphin tank housed the orcas. I boycotted this park as a child after seeing Free Willy for the first time. I would beg my family not to take me there and they listened. There is such a dark past of animal cruelty with this park and it should have been shut down decades ago.
It’s Niagara Falls so it’ll be developed into subdivisions and hotels which is pretty sad. An amusement park would be a better addition to help tourism in the area and it could be a pretty big one too because of the land available.
I've been here as a kid it was definitely a busy one at the time when it was popular. I used to be so excited hearing the music everyone loves marineland on TV I remember the good times I used dance to it. The last time I was here I was 8 years old. And I remember coming here for the second time for a school trip. But now seeing it as adult adult on RUclips makes me cry. Thanks for sharing. Really bad reputation thry have right now . And their reputation will never be fixed agajn abd the same again.
You don’t speak for me. I’m not a far left moron who wants to tell people how to live. If you hate marine land keep it to yourself. I hate you far left you’ve killed our country.
Those aren’t VIP areas those are offices. It’s where I had my orientation when I worked there in 2006. I was a ride operator for 2 seasons and moved onto the maintenance crew for 2 years. It was only a matter of time before it collapsed. I saw things I didn’t agree with but I have great memories of working at the park. Made life long friends. My last year the decline started to happen very rapidly. The deer pen was always close because of attacks. Bears were always sick. Sky screamer only had one tower operational and we had to take parts of the other towers to keep that one moving. Numerous other rides were constantly down. Dragon mountain was probably the best maintained ride at the entire park. One lonely killer whale that never moved. The activists and Black fish started the final nail in the coffin and the virus hammered it in.
I hope they preserve Dragon Mountain 😭 My first coaster and so, so strange. I have a coffee table book on roller coasters and there's two pages just dedicated to it.
Thanks for the video, your Marineland series was always enjoyable and I am glad you made it up there for a final visit. I hope the rides as well as some of the themed structures can be preserved to be re-used later. The drop tower offers a very unique view in comparison to other drop towers, and it would be nice to see that one re-open again down the road. I hope it is not the end of the line for Dragon Mountain either. What other station entrances has the Danzig skull as an entry point? Woahh ohh woahhh. I really hope to see these rides re-open down the road. The theming of Dragon Mountain is incredible. Maybe the aquarium theater can re-open as an outdoor concert venue. There is lots of potential for this property, I just hope it isn't rezoned for commercial and real estate, as that can become outdated very quickly. I hope no gaudy buildings sprout up vertically from the property. New owners have their hands full, and this park is gonna take a lot of money to redevelop, I hope they do it responsibly and not partake in some fad. Shopping culture is old world, and residential units are almost always ugly these days.
I wish we knew who exactly bought this park. I hope is was Cedar Fair. It would be awesome to get a true, original IP amusement park. Similar to Lost Island in Waterloo, Iowa. Obviously no more animals as well.
I honestly never understood why people keep animals in cages and tanks on display. What's the appeal of watching a depressed and injured animal huddled in a corner of a tiny and confined space? I guess some people have never heard of whale watching and safaris. Viewing animals in their natural habitats is so much more special and educational to me.
@Alexandra-rb7ju Times have changed, my friend. Back in the day it was common to have animals as entertainment. They used to have Bears ride tricycles, it was twisted. We're more educated now and have grown as a society when it comes to animal treatment.
I have never been there. I was born and raised in Maryland until 27, when I relocated to Texas. I am familiar with a lot of the history and “lore” of the park however. It seems like such a waste of so much. I hear it has been bought and as you mentioned it is said to be re-done as a theme park of some sort. Apparently the property can only be something along those lines due to zoning. I grew up in the Bush Gardens/Sea World popularity of the 80’s and early 90’s. Before it was a known thing that some of these companies really did not have the animal’s best interests in mind. I used to love Sea World. I would not go for the rides, because growing up, Sea World was about the animals. The issues with the orcas and the attacks and abuse of them was not in the public-at least mainstream and certainly not public for children to hear back then. I’d spend hours feeding the dolphins and watching the animal shows🤦🏼♀️ of course now knowing what I know, I am embarrassed to even admit that I was supporting such things. I get so sad when I see that animals are still here in the park even with so little people there to even interact with them. Captivity is no place for them, but being that they have lived their whole lives in this environment, I’d imagine that at least having attention of people is better than little to no attention or interaction. The belugas break my heart the most every time I see clips of them most recently. Making their noises and popping up and down in their tank. Surprisingly, the park overall, for being closed off mostly for quite a while, and so expansive, seems well taken care of. I can only imagine the money still being poured into that alone. I hope that someone can find out where then animals end up and can do some type of update on that. The park itself has so much potential. It is a beautiful area.
Seeing those dolphins just makes me sad for humanity. I'm going to miss Marineland for the good that it offered, but I'm glad the animals are slowly moving on. I just hope it's as you say, to Bigger and better things. I have refused to go for years. If it opens as an amusement park, I'll be there year 1. Great video. I appreciate your content!
Not that any of Marinelands higher ups will see this But what I think would be a good nostalgia idea is turning the Deer park into a proper waterpark section Then taking the old castle set off the stage and Turing that into a kids slide in the new waterpark section

Ya know when you play a theme park or zoo game and there's campaigns for you to take a weirdly designed failing park and fix it? That's what every video of MarineLand reminds me of
I think you are right about it being a small localized operator next year. Looks like there is zero progress for 2025. I'm thinking they will probably just remove the Marineland name and operate the rides only as is.
@@CoinandRelicOntariothe rides are not getting removed yet, they’re just still winterized. How can people get mad at Maryland from having animals in captivity and then those same people go to the zoo, what’s the difference?
I'm glad you explored this park one final time. And I hope it does have a renaissance under new owners.

This would be like being relegated to a small coat closet your whole life. They’re meant to have the entire global ocean accessible to them.
