The first two steps didn't do anything for the black stain on my new light colored suede shoes. But your final suggestion, using an ordinary eraser, worked! 👍Two days later I couldn't remember which shoe the stain was on... that's how good the "eraser technique" was!! Thanks for sharing this excellent tutorial!

Professional leather worker here. You can use water on suede, just don’t soak the leather. You can use a light foam suede cleaner with some water to clean the suede and once dried you can use a light spray conditioner to moisturize the fibers and then finally brush with a firm brush.

    • @StolenAlias

@@realiize if it’s factory dyed it’s safe because the dye is professionally struck through the grain. If you hand dye the suede yourself then it has the possibility of running off.

@@namkhanngajato3911 honestly the easiest thing to do that’s the most effective is take some simple dish soap with water and an old toothbrush. If you’re scared about color transfer or fading then just try to find a hard brush, maybe a bathroom cleaning brush (clean) and scrub the suede.

Another misconception about suede; it can't have water. I have €400 navy blue suede Flli. Rossetti summer loafers that I shampoo every year with Saphir's Omnidaim, rinse off UNDER THE TAP, dry overnight, recolour with blue Renovetine and spray with waterproofing spray. They are ten years old and look like new. Water on suede? No problem whatsoever.

You can use water to clean suede, just dont over soak the brush you use, dab dry with clean paper towels, allow to fully dry before bringing the knap of the suede up with a dry brush, by using a rubber you are removing some material, this can create bald spots or discoloration.
Does work, but its not ideal. Some good tips.

You can also use an eraser to revive sandpaper. It gets all the gunk out from between the grain. (Makes it last like 10x longer)
Also useful for nail files / regular files
I have a small amount of the cheapest erasers I could find - (they're like 3 for 0,99) - specifically for cleaning purposes.
(They're not the best for drawing, but for cleaning they work fine)

    WRONG on so many level
U can definitely hand wash any type of shoes leather with saddle soap, of course with proper know-how. Just like clothes, a water bath is deep cleaning, eliminate some of the natural material stretch and even better, helps relax the leather fiber structure. You just need to remember to wet-condition the shoes right after the wash. More info on the book “The application of oils and greases to leather”, 1919

Heres an idea since you obviously have taken your shoe and leather treatment to a very creepy level sir..... Maybe save that comment for a more experienced video since this is obviously geared toward new suede cleaners with little or no experience who arent trying to restore the holy grail pair of suede shoes. Its ridiculous someone always has to know better than anyone else and if they truly were that talented then knowing would be enough but you and thread commenters like you dont know shit really and therfore need to broadcast there knowledge and correction of others seeking group aproval out of insecurity. Pathetic......

And if needed get some suede cleaner, if you are short on money then use the nail brush like in the video about for the sake of your blushes don't try and sand the dirt away with a nail file. And to the person who made this video please take it down, this kinda information will wreck someones shoes.
