Thanks for watching Richard!!
Sounds Mighty Strong!!
It runs really good
WOW Great going
Thanks Alan!
You are a very patient guy ! Looks like you made another good purchase. Good luck with the repairs. Hopefully there will be very few.
Thanks! I think with a few little things this combine will be ready to roll again.
Awesome job well done
Alright!! Nice Machines
Thanks Richard!
Great Job
Thanks
I just realized I saw that combine, I went to that show.
Cool!
when had all the 525 535 545 5555 and we bought a 7300 they were awesome machine easy to repair
They are super simple combines. I’ve run some for years and they are really reliable.
Olver Great Product
Absolutely!!
Leaf blower a handy tool to carry on service truck.
Yes it is! I have a 20 V DeWalt that I love. I just didn’t bring it along with me because I hadn’t intended to be having to do so much work to it to get it to run. I thought that it was already running and just wouldn’t move
Might Be seal Around Glass Gass Bowl
Been Setting So long
Maybe!! The Chock is out of adjustment
Great looking combine
Thanks!
Good Motor Also
Sure is
Enjoy watching you very much. Love the Combine. Cant wait to see you use it next yr.
Thanks Chad!
I noted how much you enjoyed working on combines in your two most recent videos on the subject. While watching them I said to myself "I bet Ross goes out and buys another one just so he can work on it" Sure 'nuff you did! You never disappoint. 😀
I’ve been trying to buy this particular one for about five or six years. The stars just never aligned until now.
Good looking combine. Glad you are saving it. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks Greg!
Had a neighbor had it in the shred for years. He started it up to see if it would run spun a rod bearing.
I'm a Mopar dude I love the 318 one of the best engines made in the Slant six 225
They’re good runners!
Way to go 👍🏻
Thanks Dan!
Ross you seem to be a miracle worker I'm getting the combine running again. So we keep another Oliver from the scrap yard. Thanks Michael
Thanks Michael!!
Sounds pretty smooth though!
Thanks Shawn! It does run pretty sweet for not having run in several years.
Another great find. That combine looks like a real cream puff. I can't wait to see you trying it out next year.
Hopefully I’ll have three available to play with!
Enjoy your videos
Thanks Ryan!
If it Has Been Setting , might Be Good to Do more Adjustments!!!
Absolutely loved the old oliver combines,
Thanks Gary!
luck with that 7300 ROSS
Thanks Dave!
Ha. Ha Ha. A good one, Even the sheep were laughing. Still perseverance paid off in the end.
Those sheep always know when to come through 🤣🤣🤣
Really enjoyed this. Good luck with restoration!
Thanks Dan!!
Fun fun fun Ross! Nice looking old combine.👍👍
Thanks Tom! She’s a beaut!
Looks like a nice find! Bonus buys on the seat parts!
Thanks! I think I did alright!
Nice machine! I recently picked up a 1976 White 7300 with the same 3 row corn head from a family member. I have no use for it but it was to good of a deal to pass up. Runs and drives great!
I hate to see them scrapped. They’re good little machines.
Excellent score! Might try a leaf blower to get more chaff and wildlife housing out! My offer stands for the 545 and now willing to re-home a 7300!! Looks like I need to travel a few hours East and look for an Oliver combine. Illinois isn't too far away! Thank you for the tag-a-long Ross.
Thanks for watching!
I see a huge vacuum leak at thr pvc valve cover , might not want to start like that lol thanks BigAl California.
Lol. Yeah I know there’s a lot of stuff like that that needs to be fixed before it can be used. I’m just glad I got to come to life. I’m hoping it will run well enough like this to pull itself on the trailer
Great buy, Ross. Another one saved. I think it has found its "forever" home. There's a 525 for sale around here. Wish I had room for it.
Buy now, worry about room later! 🤣 got to save them when they’re available! Thanks Charlie!
Determination and perseverance! Great job
Thanks James!
It's funny that a Chrysler engine seems to run better in a combine than in an actual Chrysler.
🤣 well it is the industrial version so maybe that has something to do with it!
They spin rod bearings easy. Can attest to that had one in an old Plymouth car flat head six remember going on a vacation once spent three days in a motel while they pulled pan and checked bearings and crank before it was road ready again.
Had a 1 ton dodge truck with flat head six in it replaced the motor at least seven times with a new short block bad thing was everytime had to change hardware on water lines etc always different
I use a leaf blower to get those hard to reach places. Works everytime! Awesome videos..
Thanks! I have a cordless one but just wasn’t prepared.
Ha ha, needs a tension, got it.
Thanks Landon!
A great, educational video.
Thank you!!
Sweet! It's my observation your not happy unless you have something to tinker with.
I like bringing things back to life for sure!
Another awesome video, I'm glad you saved that jewel, keep up the good work!
Thanks Blake!
When you come back, if you have a portable air tank, you can at least loosen up the trash under the engine and maybe the fan will clean out the rest. The Old Girl looks to be in pretty fair shape. Replace the filter on the clicky-clack and at the carburetor and I'd say you got a runner! Get a piece of fuel line that will fit over the stem in the sediment bowl so you can blow back thru it, if it gets blocked (Ask me how I know that). Yep, I'd say you did well. Looking forward to next time seeing her moving around. 👍🇺🇲🎄🎉
Thanks Jack!
Can’t wait to see this thing in action. It will suck to do but that one will do good with some flitz or Malco rejuvenator. I did it on my 4400JD and it worked out good
I know, I want to polish my other two combines also but I always talk myself out of it because it will take so long 😭
That Might Work
Look at that sassy 2nd gen, looks like the body is solid?
You’re a better man than me, I don’t have the appetite to save combines but someone has too 👍
It’s my dads truck. He just had it totally redone by a local vocational school. It’s like a new one! I love combines but they definitely take up space. Good to hear from you, it’s been awhile 🤣
@@rosstheoliverman yes they do, you have more space than I. I’m at risk of city ordinance violations the way it is 🤣
@@crazydave4455 Just tell them this is America and you’ll do what you want!😂
Well, that was a hoot. Lol love the old stuff.
Thanks Dan!
Great video. Nice looking machine.
Thanks Jason!
Also check Fuel Pump
Yeah I may end up having to put a new one on
Great video. Having all the needed tools is an impossible task.
No matter what you do it seems that you’re never prepared. Such as life.
Nice to see someone saving this old iron. Didn't know anyone made a combine from that era with a V8 engine. We used to farm in Eastern Washington back in the 1980's and 1990's. There were John Deere 95's, International 403's, some Harris and Gleaner C's still around at the time but they all had 6 cylinder motors.
Thanks Stephen! Oliver had the V8 as an option in the 60s. It was the big engine option at the time for sure!
@@rosstheoliverman and those 318's were really good engines indeed! I was a forklift mechanic and in late fall 2016, we had a 1968 Clark 200k capacity forklift with a 318 in it. I loved that thing! It had dual short exhaust stacks with glasspacks. It sounded great.
Nice machine. Love those 318 engines
Thanks! They run great!
Another thing , Doing more greeseing as Well!!
Love it! We have a 7300 white
Awesome! I have a red 7300 as well.
Dude a feller got to check the sparolaters and the lightning rods and the resisorator on them chiselers you now. LOL Love how he describes stuff on an engine ! LOL Glad it wasnt too much of a fight to get her to fire off and run again. Dang birds and critters can make a mess of a combine or the cab of a tractor in such a hurry its not funny , Glad you smelt the smoke before it was too late ! Nice buy Ross ! Bandit
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks Bandit! I’ve got enough combines now I’m gonna have to get you and Craig to join my custom harvest crew!
@@rosstheoliverman We could do that pretty easy ! I've run a few Oliver's in my day so I'm up for it. But you know if we get all 4 of them running we'll have to call the cousins in to haul grain away ! LOL Bandit
Hope to see you get it moving !
Thanks Joe!
Upgrade everything!
You heard me on turning off fuel, but not taking off that blown hose. 😁. It is fun bringing things back to life.
It’s definitely rewarding to save something someone else threw away
Looks like a nice combine! Now you need a new shed to put it in!
I need to build a 800’ by 1200’ shed I think 🤣
Good luck Mr Ross and your projects you and them toys keep buying more I am trying to help you I'm drinking a beverage for you you got me a Miller Lite LOL
🤣🤣🤣
Love to see old Iron saved
Me too!
Great job I enjoy watching you I try to help you a few times lol
🤣 Thanks Wayne!
Abilene tractor and combine salvage yard special 😅
Cool!!!!!
Thanks!
Ross wonderful video saving one from the crusher. Doing work like that makes a guy appreciate when you have a good day on the farm. New subscriber from east central Minnesota. Merry Xmas Daniel.
Thanks Daniel! Glad to have you aboard! I’m sure I’ll save a lot more stuff in the next year so stay tuned!!
I was thinking that as you were trying to get it running maybe the gas line needs cleaning
It still needs some attention but hopefully we can play with it this fall!
we had 2 batteries on ours for cold starting in the winter maybe they did to
That’s not a bad idea, but I would say the extra cable on this one is because somebody just bypassed it and put that new ground strap on because it was easier
You must watch Mortskey I watch him every Monday along with Puddins Fab Shop both great and entertaining channels like yours
I’ve never seen either but I’ll check them out!
Nice
Thanks!
thats a nice combine
Thanks Peter!
Thanks for this video, never seen a combine up close. Just a friendly suggestion, with points turn key on with screwdriver push on points should see spark with fuel loosen electric fuel pump clamp just fill the proverbial coffee can with fuel dump down carb. Nothin' runs like a "Mongoose" drag racers will get it. Ps get a hanging funnel to bypass fuel pump. Once again good video, keep em coming!
Thanks! Like I said, I did not come prepared to do a Will it run video because I thought the thing was already running according to the auction description. When I got there I found out it hadn’t run since 2017. I tried to get by with the stuff I had in the truck so I didn’t have to run into town but that was kind of pointless 😭
I hear ya, been there, even when you think you have all the tools and supplies you'll need, there's that odd situation holding you up. I'm like you, I can think better at home. Thanks again
Need to bring a air blower with you next time to blow it all out
I know, I forgot my leaf blower and it sure would’ve come in handy
I have been really enjoying your videos ! I think it's cool you're still using the old from equipment Everything like this always has to be a pain in the butt when you're away from home and surprise costs . I have to admit I suck at working on stuff like this . I think I saw in your videos you are from Indiana what part ? I live in Sullivan Indiana . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !
I live in the southern part of the state near Seymour.
This was a thrill run.... the birds nest was a real plot twist!
🤣 Full of surprises!
Trun the gas off lol
🤣🤣🤣
@@rosstheoliverman thought I remind. U lol
Get the either
Well done Ross ! I believe you have a ready to run ( after a good service ) combine! What did the other head go to ? Looked like the fellow was a Oliver man . Hey enjoyed watching.
I think he has a 525 and a 545 that both belong to family members. He was an Oliver collector and he sold out.
Did you ever think how , at one point in time , that combine was a state of the art machine?
Yes, it’s hard to believe looking at it now. Especially when you see it parked next to a modern machine, it looks like a toy.
Rebar with a short bend on one end to help get it dugout for it
That’s a good idea!
I Would Rebuild the Carb.
That will probably happen at some point
Wow, you are optimistic. Hoping for fuel and hydraulic fluid.
For what it's worth, a 7300 and 3 row head will NOT back onto a trailer. Too light in rear.
I have needed the emergency field fire extinguisher on a baler bearing. Just relieve yourself on the smoke.
I’m hoping if I clench my butt cheeks I can drive it on forwards 😬
Been to the VGG revival meetings I see… 😂
Next is to head over to Rainman Rays Repairs to learn pouring from the jug with no funnel!
🤣🤣🤣
The struggle is REAL
🤣🤣🤣
Check the hose on the carb to valve cover pvc looks broken would cause a big vacuum leak n idle issues. Looks like a good bye
Yeah it still needs love for sure! I think it will be a good machine if I can get it home in one piece 😬
Pump the grass puddel
Yeah, in this case it it’s a handjob 🤣
You're going to need 2 other helpers so you can run all 3 combines at once. I smell a contest coming up!! Join the Ross custom combine crew!!
🤣🤣🤣
Why did the chicken cross the road ?
It didn’t you hit it 😂
🤣🤣🤣 It looked so sad too, it was a flat puddle with a single leg sticking up
Or Readjustment
Turn the gas off lol kool for skhool , thanks BigAl California praise Jesus Jesus Christ grace amen amen 🙏 😊
Thanks Al!
I was hollering at you , but apparently you couldn't hear me from Iowa, the PCV hose is unhooked on top of the valve cover which would be a huge vacuum leak & might be the reason it only runs on choke, Don't forget to shut off the fuel !!
hello steve how are you doing
At least you tried, I must be getting hard of hearing 🤣🤣🤣 I noticed that during editing there are several things disconnected. I didn’t really have my head in the game during this because I didn’t intend on having to get it running when I went. I thought it was running and just wouldn’t move so I did not come prepared with everything I would need. Hopefully next weekend it will be in my yard.
I’m not sure what the track width on that rear axle is, but a “quickish” way to get it home might be to raise the head up and use a piece of angle iron as a safety stop for the hydraulic cylinder, then strap the rear axle to a tow dolly (I have a poorish quality video on my channel) and just drive home slow with a SMV sign taped to the window and a set of flashing lights magneted to the cab.
I’ve seen that done before. That may be an option if the first attempt fails. We’re gonna try to put it on a low boy.
@@rosstheoliverman best of luck! I look forward to the video! :)
@@chuckk458 thanks!!
Fuel pump
If you can show us how you loosen those shift cables I have those on my 7000 allis thanks
I have them soaking in a 5 gallon bucket of oil. Usually letting them soak totally submersed will free them up
I ran a 7300 White when I was in high school about a gazillion years ago. I wonder what extras the 'Corn & Soybean Specials" had that the regular combines didn't.
Perforated doors at the bottom of the augers and risers on the straw walkers. Also rubber curtains inside instead of metal. I think the back sieve is different too.
Always bring some Harbor Freight tools, 5 gallons of fuel, PB blaster and a can of Australian Nulon Start Ya Bastard starting fluid, can’t go wrong there!
