A couple of years ago, Akai was doing only controllers and people asking for stand alone products, today Akai made stand alone units and people saying "can't i just use my computer and controller?" The loop is infinite.
Akai made Push to control Ableton, after that they integrate the "Ableton" in to the Force! Now they need to upgrade the Force to control Ableton for supreme production and live performance, simple. Stand alone product can not compete with Ableton in production, my be with bigger screen and additional features, bigger processor... but this is non sense!

The Abletonn Live and Push together are real force, so the Force need to become controller to, to eat Push for breakfast and to expend live and production performance. Roger Starchild At this moment AKAI is developing the ARRANGE VIEW of Force that will be released in the next update of the internal software. I think it will make a lot of sense that after having the ARRANGE VIEW the possibility of importing from Ableton Live will be closer to happening because it will be in the Arrange view that the imported Ableton projects will appear.
Well, to be honest I was excited to watch this but I didn't really see much. I guess I was looking for actual proof that you can save and then access from a new Live set.
@@djmiansf I don't think you can transfer live projects to the force, but my understanding is that you can export force projects as als (live project). So does that mean samples and automation is transferred? Still on the fence about this, because I'm more interested in the force for production and all the demos seem to focus on performance.

IDONTPLAY I have sent a request for the next push 3 if they come out with a standalone unit. Just imagine a complete full daw in the box. It will definitely cost a little over $2000. I will definitely purchased one I have my 💰 ready .
Exactly my thoughts! It’s needs to be deeper than what is shown here. Audio over USB would be good but not essential but being able to use Max4Live devices via Force to control external hardware, would be great.
The Push 2 is 3 or 4 years old and the market is probably saturated. I would bet the Push 3 is on the drawing board or in prototype with Ableton just waiting for the MIDI 2.0 spec to get firmed up. Encoders with up to 32 bit resolution rather than 7 bits... that would be something.
All the demos just show the ‘live’ performance aspect.. haven’t seen any demos where you can record and then edit your performance? Is it even possible? Is Force just aimed at the DJ market?
From a marketing standpoint, yes but don't allow that to make your mind up for you. This thing is a bonafide instrument period! Unfortunately, we're living in an age where personal politics govern everything relative to assuming who and what a particular product is aimed at. Perhaps not directly from Akai but you have a legion of people who still believe the MPC line is only or primarily for rap production and black users! The Force is really everyone's baby but in this economy and unfortunately, the targeted user is being chosen in advance and that user can spend the $1500 easily and willingly. That user is a sure bet for Akai...the trust fund baby...the gainfully employed...the wannabe Dr. Dre's of society...not the musicians...it's ultimately about who can really buy the thing for the seller. I hope you understand, I'm only being honest here. Sad but really true. Heres another fact...the masses won't fall in love with it until they hear more actual A to Z song making with it. That's my only gripe is having to share the functionality with the DJ demographic. There is already plenty of DJ specific gear on the market... And Denon who is owned by the same parent company as Akai, just released a stand-alone unit for DJ's specifically. The Force would be even better if it had been produced solely for the producer. The whole daw, CPU plus instrument concept is what the Force is, disable the crossfader, lol!
Because you have to use two things instead of one I guess. Plus some people hate using a computer, even though it does more. This product isn't for me. I just want more simple integration between daws and sampler/ beat makers, not a limited version.
All that matters to me is that its much better than the Push 2, and I just needed to know if it can control Ableton to write songs and I guess it does. A big plus for it being a Stand alone I can use it while djing, I use Traktor so I don't have to go back and forth between Ableton and Traktor screen on 13 inch laptop. it would be a great addition to my pioneer set for live djing. Cant wait!!!
its really impressive how he switches between the force and ableton modes i really want to buy it even more now especially since i can see that the difference between the two modes is vast he's just repeating himself and the same functions in slightly different ways the entire video and i agree with the comments: if you want a standalone ableton live-like controller thats cool, but otherwise the push 2 is cheaper and does everything this can if youre still going to be using Live, which most of us are to be honest.
Either get the push 2 or a touch screen display. Cuz am shure a laptop is much lighter than that force. Also being able to mix and go into arrangement mode. And it uses "link" you better of using two computers with different softwares to influence more creativity. Example Ableton linked with Propella Reason. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Genius idea, instead of having to manage one DAW like you do with push, you now have two different DAWs to handle. The akai one and ableton live. Why not having a light edition of live in the force instead? I'll wait for a Push 3 or push 2 prices drop. For sure!

Watched this video ,as I am like a lot of you A Music Tech Luster,.Then I saw Andy MACs face and thought where do I remember that Face... That’s it this is the guy who sold me a Yamaha A3000, Sampler from Andertons Guildford ,probably way back in the last Millenium. However to the present, Techno Lust never dies, and this looks like a big winner.I use Maschine Studio with Ableton 10 integration,and this just looks so much better.
Cause it's a all in one. Plug it in the wall and plug in your headphones or speakers...One machine w/interface and phantom power and usb AND sd card slot. VERSUS - Laptop, Push, Interface, power strip, wires
because u need 3 power supplies. they can get knocked over. Laptops get stolen. it takes toooooo long to setup with the crowd waiting! you kill yiurself hooking up crappy components , only for the audience not to care. Get a ONE box standalone and move along FAST!

If you already have a Push and Ableton this makes no sense. And Push is what makes Ableton REALLY good. So if you had Ableton already you'd get a Push. If I were new to music production I might be tempted by a Force, but no VST support. If you are in a studio or home studio I don't understand the standalone thing. I have a desktop PC and I turn off it's monitor and hey, the Push is standalone (with 1 or 2 notable irritating exceptions - renaming, warp marker edits, tuner - room for improvement)

I love how the touch screen fails a few times. For example around 02:41 and 04:15.

Just export, though you can also export stems from Ableton and import them as audio into the Force. No way of importing Ableton files directly.

Bluetooth Audio will always create latency, so it wouldn't be suitable for triggers and control.
