Having an issues gluing the picture to the plywood. Can varnish before cutting? Computer paper is the worst for gluing down. Stretches and bubbles.

Mr. Good, could you saw two puzzles at the same time? Face both of them together and tape them with the pattern on the back side of one piece of wood and run it through the saw and then have two puzzles made at the same time? Or would the edges of the top picture come out ragged looking? I think it would save time if you could cut 2 puzzles out at the same time.
Also, could you use the thinner 1/8ths inch thick plywood for the puzzle so it's not so thick? Nice demo, quite interesting. Thank you

Would using chipboard be okay to use for the pattern? I'm on a budget and chipboard is pretty inexpensive. I don't want to use good wood :(

Steve, can you make jigsaw puzzles using the wen 3921 Scroll saw. I am using the templates or patterns you published for $7. Also what blade/s do you recommend for making puzzles. I really enjoy your expertise and the videos on Utube.

Hi Phil. You will need to use the adapter that allows you to use plain-end blades. Pin=end blades are too thick for jigsaw puzzles. The number one blades for jugsaw puzzles is the Superior Puzzle Blade from mikesworkshop.com/collections/blades. You can also use a #2/0 reverse tooth blade.

Steve, I need your expertise! If the throat of my saw is 16", how can I make a jigsaw puzzle that will be LARGER than the overall depth of the saw's throat? PLEASE HELP!!

Hi Carol, what kind of budget do you have? If you can afford the cost a DeWalt DW788 is a great mid level saw.

Hi Matt. This is not for me. I sell these patterns and that is what my customers want. I have sold thousands of them and for the vast majority of my customers, this is the way they want the puzzles to look. They are much more consistent in shape. I do agree that free hand-cut puzzles look great. Most serious puzzle solvers prefer the free-hand puzzle to solve. My puzzles are for making keepsakes.

I use Light fabric t-shirt transfers and iron the picture on. You just print the picture on the transfer, Tape it on the wood, Iron it, peel the paper of, and then the ink is on the wood. check out this video on youtube. ToolGirl Mag Ruffman - Transferring Photo Images to Wood.

Hmmm... I finally followed Ann's advice and took Woodprix. It's great for beginners and has some advanced stuff too.
