I have basically the exact same setup except for your wheels and suspension setup. I'm running tha aluminum v4s wheels, and the metal copy of wpls plastic shocks. So, my servo bumps up into the original plate where the servo was mounted originally. So, I'm gonna need to extend my shock length. I have the same mount extentions you have for your shocks. So I'm gonna try and use those together first. If that doesn't work, I have a set of 48mm injoras. Hopefully they give me the clearance I need to keep my servo from touching the bottom of the aluminum plate. Awesome vid! Thanks for giving me ideas on how I could fix my problem. If there's anything else you can think of, let me know! ✌️🖖🍻
@ReadytoRunRC I ordered a carbon frame, clearanced servo mount bracket and all metal suspension and axles with axle mount servo, metal 2 speed and a pair of jx 17.5g servos, some metal axles and beadlocks all I have left is an esc, tx/rx and a body I think
I couldn’t get the steering to work with the metal links and those shocks, so I just ordered the servo mount kit . Not as scale looking but will work much much better I hope anyway
I can see where CMS is not the best option for these. If my Wraith can perform amazingly with Axle Mounted Servo. And that's a $1200 Brushless BEAST, nearly capable of anything.... Than I'm completely OK with these little guys! ;)
you need better tires and to droop the front and weight the tires and glue them cuz they were slipping when you did the crawl test at your house then it should climb the dam. I have enjoyed this series a lot, thank you for the great vid.
I put these tires on bead locks and tried climbing the dam. It didn’t stick to it. Not enough grip. Thanks for watching the series on it. I will be doing some more mods in the near future on this.
I KNEW IT! Thank you for proving it. 😎 My C14-1 arrives today,,, sometime. I have no idea how much plastic will be under mine. So I'm waiting before ordering. BUT, since the first one of these I saw that CMS - DOES NOT WORK with the WPL geometry. Axle Mounted Servo IS the way to go! These are not "Scale" but are quite impressive despite that. Great looking, tons of potential, good aftermarket support. I'm funny... EVERYTHING of mine has some kind of Driver figure. Do you know what size Figure will fit? I'm AWARE that either cutting the figure and/or cutting the Cab will be necessary after looking at my Grandson's C24. Watched this whole series. Enlightening!!
3:37 When I steer to the left, the car leans down, and when I steer to the right, it doesn't lean. And the left steering angle appears to be slightly larger than the right. I have a stock C24 and discovered this symptom. I watched your video while trying to figure out if this was just my problem or everyone else's problem. Is this a chronic problem with crawling RC cars?
Hey man, you have an awesome truck! I love these WPL trail rigs. So much fun to tinker with! I’m building one now and have a few questions. Where did you buy the shocks and do you prefer them over the stock ones? What is the advantage of the axle mounted servo? More weight lower in the front? Lastly, what do you think is the best upgrade you have done? Thanks again for your awesome content! Subed!
Thanks! It took a lot of tinkering around for me too to get it to where it is now. The shocks were from Amazon. I have links to everything on this build in each of my WPL C14 build video descriptions. The shocks I used have about the same spring rate as stock. With these aluminum ones I can adjust them and pre load the springs if I wanted. The advantage of the axle mounted servo is to make the center of gravity lower but it also helps with bump steering because it is always at the same angle as the axle. The best upgrade for me was the motor. The stock motor and gearing was just terrible and this turned into a little beast with that motor and metal gear transmission. Good luck with your build and thank you for subbing to the channel!
Nice video thanks for sharing,I went with the same 2speed motor but I have a problem now if I’m going forward it just turned to reverse automatically and stops by itself in few seconds I push reverse goes by it self as well and doesn’t stop after few seconds. Any idea or suggestions on what to do ? The servo for the steering is working and the one for the 2nd speed. Is just back and forward the issue 😅.
Thank you! I can't narrow that down to 1 thing wrong. Sounds to me its either transmitter, receiver or esc. Not sure if you are still running stock on either of those things but I would start with the transmitter and try and troubleshoot that first.
Use the original plastic servo and ESC housing in the front part of the frame. Just cut it out CAREFULLY!! and only cut out enough to allow space for the servo to travel beyond those touch points. 😉✌️🍻
Im building a C 24 and added the metal suspension links like on your truck. My front and rear axles have a lot of movement sise to side and also front to back. Did you have this issue with your build?
@@ReadytoRunRC ok my axles move enough to keep the truck from going in a straight line. I may pull the links and make sure the eyelets match the stock plastic pieces.
you have done an absolutely amazing job with your C14 build. I need to get some of those axle mounted servo brackets. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the build. Unfortunately it's time to move on to the next one.

I just got my kiddos an rtr c24 and am going to build me one from scratch all metal and setup to go
That’s awesome!

It looks Amazing. You have done a great job
Thanks! It came together nice. On to the next project.
@@ReadytoRunRC You really made it look extremely Nice Looking Not Just Saying That. I would buy it for $200

Thanks, you too!

put the metal wheels to climb the dig
think i would have added the back servo just to add the weight and give you a little more traction control. sence you have to take it apart anyway.
I could add some BB's in the tires to add weight down low too.

Love the build nice video. What tyres are u running here?
Thanks! I’m running some brand I found on Amazon. Link to them is in the video description.
Nice
Thanks
nice rc ❤
Doesn't the servo hit the tray?
I did this mod to relocate the servo above the axle. But now I have no suspension travel as the servo strikes the underside of the car.
Yeah that will happen. It does on mine too. I have some travel.

Looks good. Does the servo hit anything above it when you compress the suspension?
Thanks. Servo does hit before completely compressed.
You ought to be a pro when it comes to taking it apart lol . Looking amazing. Man that looks great.
Lol yes I know this truck very well now. It does look great and doesn’t even look like the same truck. Very happy with this build.
Nice👌
Thanks 😊
👍
with the 360 motor and trans is it faster than stock? i just got that c24 and would like a little more speed
I don’t have the 2 speed trans but I think it’s faster from what I’ve seen.
2s battery right??
I am making my own custom c24 so appreciate it if you could help
@@Nabhaanibrahim16 I do believe this was on 2S at that time. This was awhile ago.
@ReadytoRunRC I see.
Thanks!

There’s a little movement side to side. Nothing drastic.

What was total cost to get to this point?
I have no idea. I got to this point years ago. I can’t remember what I all bought and how much it was.
Over high sir
Dude can I buy this from you
No. It doesn’t even look like this anymore. I completely changed it to an LCG crawler. If you check out my more recent videos you will see that.
First comment again HAHA!
Legend!
Damn! No Dam!
Nope no dam with this one.
This link no good
Works just fine for me.
