That's a nice setup, especially the sink/water station (has it overflowed from rain?). I had a similar concept but with three containers (3 / 20's or 2 / 20's and 1 / 40'- 9'6"?) , one for woodwork, second for blacksmith and third for materials (wood, metal, etc...) and storage. Enjoy it.
Great roofing idea. The only thing that I would have done differently is I would have extended the Canopy roof out about 2 foot past the sides of the container. You would have some additional storage above the container roof that way and the roof would look better and cleaner.
Wow, that is an awesome workshop all us guys can only dream for. Great idea... I don't know where and what country do you live. The cost for those containers properly cheaper than the states here huh?
+Tony Arcus the greatest success that i've had was by following the Magic Container Plans (just google it) definately the most useful course that I've followed.
This is AWESOME - what would the project cost if having to hire help including containers? I was looking for one for storage but this gave me a different idea - thanks.
+HighConsciousness1 I have two 40 foot High Cubes (you want that height!) but one would do for most people. You must get quotes LOCALLY, but a 40 ft 9'6" High Cube is typically ~2500 on the East Coast. Visit welding forums for info, but you can cut your door with a 6-inch cutting disc in an angle grinder. Buy a BOX of discs online, do not overpay at chain stores. Welding can be done with a small flux core machine (Lincoln, Miller, Hobart, ESAB) which you keep for many other shop projects. MIG is better, small stick will work.
Thank you for watching. The roof i bought on ebay it cost me $740 installed.I had to prepare the containers for installation using ratchet straps to square them up into postion.I also had to cut a notch in each corner of the container so i can lay an angle iron all along the containers then welded it in place. The roof is attach to the angle iron with bolts.
MrFakit i didnt even catch that this was a creed song until now. BTW i hate creed, my friends called me this because my last name is crawford. That combined with the fact that creed is the worst band on earth made for a nickname that just stuck.
Before they installed the sheet metal to the roof structure they put a rain gutter that i provided so i can use the water in a rain barrel system attached to a sink for clean up. I have another video of the complete setup in action the link is in the description.
Impressive! Thanks for posting.
well done olmate, I bet its the most solid work shop in the neighborhood
One of the greatest shops, i ever saw.
Nice! Inexpensive, quick and smart way to construct a workshop, and love Creed too!
nice, this is what I call thinking outside the box.
frame racks sure make great welding tables huh
I`ve saw it and it blew me away.
I`ve gpt my 40 ft on a rental base these days.
I´ll keep you informed.
This is awesome! Well done, looks great.

Very nice setup. What did you put down for the base
Could you explain how to get a roof like that? Who did you deal with, and how did you attach it to the containers? I'd like to duplicate this.
wonder why the one isnt level?

nice shop, but the wipe effect almost made me go cross-eyed! Thanks for sharing!

which roof did you use?
Do you have the still photos from this on the web anywhere?
nice, have you had any issues with wind shear, I have several large barns and have to make sure the prevailing wind can not get a grip on the roof.

Dude this is exactly what I have been looking to do. how did you get the door fabbed?

Actually first thing I thought was that I love this song.
GameTimes yay, automated spam reply...
after your first hot summer, you will be extending the roof eves over the long edges of the containers and putting some insulated siding on it. ;)
We used crushed concrete as a base.
